I’d say good but obviously the losses of Justin and Stacey would be virtually irreplaceable on the budget we have. That said I think we’ve done a good job of doing so now. Nine new players all freebies or loans with the exception of Sluga:

Martin Cranie
Simon Sluga
Jacob Butterfield
Callum McManaman
Ryan Tunnicliffe
Brendan Galloway
Izzy Brown
Luke Bolton
James Bree

We now have 33 professionals. We need to concentrate now on moving some players on either permanently or on loan.

We've had longer to prepare for this window than any other club yet I reckon we're probably the only club to come out of it weaker than we were when it opened.
Despite the wage bill now being a lot lower, and receiving £20m+ in transfer fees. Fair to say the new chairman isn't very popular!

A shocking transfer window, no idea whether good or bad. Sold our best player Webster and didn’t replace him but spent a lot of money on midfield including £7m on an 18 year old who isn’t expected to start initially. Bizarre but could it work?

Its been a bit different to our previous summer windows in recent years. Targeted players with “championship experience” and slightly older than we normally do. I also think we’ve struggled to get our primary targets in, difficult to know for sure but given Jones was actually doing the recruitment role for a good few months before being manager I thought our business might be done a lot earlier than it was. Quite a few names cropped up that never came to anything or went elsewhere.

Would have liked us to look at leagues 1 and 2 a little more as we reaped benefits of that to get here but with the new level being so different (from the 1 game I’ve seen so far!) its perhaps understandable we’ve gone a different route.

In terms of players we brought in and the squad it leaves us, think it’s very midfield heavy and feel we may have 1 or 2 midfielders too many but still look light up front for me. Centre half also another area that’s looking a little thin. Thought we would bring one in as behind our normal starting 2 it’s a little threadbare with a large drop in quality.

It’s also should be noted pretty obvious we have no money in comparison to the rest of the league. Wasn’t quite prepared or aware of the money sloshing around at this level.

Pretty good in the end.

Like Luton, maybe a little thin at the back but should be ok. There is talk of bringing a RB in who is a free agent but will see on that one.

Gone from having easily the weakest midfield in the league to having a very capable Championship midfield, with different options.

Keeping Taylor was crucial for us and with hopefully Hemed being confirmed today we’ll have the two strikers Bowyer wanted. Also have Aneke and Leko as attacking options, Bonne too if it comes to it.

Very pleased in the end considering the restraints and budget Bowyer has.

Think we have a squad capable of upsetting a few people now but proof will be in the pudding.

Looking forward to the rest of the season a bit more now anyway.

Below average, shades of last summer.

Green for Robinson
Nugent for Nmecha
Bauer for Spurr & Boyle
Bayliss for Pringle

Bauer & Bayliss obviously squad upgrades by some distance but Nugent & Green are weaker than Robinson & Nmecha which weakens the overall first eleven, unless someone steps up from the likes of Bodin, Potts, Harrop & Barkhuizen and has a blinding season.

Lots of pressure on Maguire to get back to his best.

Pretty good, especially as two weeks ago we looked in a right mess after our short pre-season.

Out:
Nick Blackman (Maccabi Tel Aviv, FREE), Bradley Johnson (Blackburn, FREE), Jacob Butterfield (Luton Town, FREE), Craig Bryson (Aberdeen, FREE), Alex Pearce (Millwall, FREE), David Nugent (PNE, FREE).
Kyle McCallister (St Mirren, Undisc), Scott Carson (Man City, loan), Luke Thomas (Barnsley, 1.2M).
Released: Ashley Cole, Efe Ambrose and Marcus Olssen

In:
Krystian Bielik (Arsenal, 7M), Graeme Shinnie (Aberdeen, FREE), Wayne Rooney (DC United, FREE).
Loans: Matt Clarke (Brighton), Ben Hamer (Huddersfield Town), Kieron Dowell (Everton) and Jamie Paterson (Bristol City).

Shed some serious wages this summer, still a few hanging around that won't be in the squad though. A decent performance and win at Huddersfield might be papering over a few cracks that we have for now but over the season I think we'll do ok. Top half will do.

I can't believe that a team who got to the final last year and has spent £7m on a single player plus getting Wayne Rooney in would be happy with a mid table finish.

For us, I think it has been a brilliant window.

Released a lot of players who were earning quite a lot and not contributing much, like Cousins and Bidwell. Both solid at best but not going to progress with us. Plus, our squad likes to go on 7 match losing runs so it was great to ship out half those losers and try with new players.

Managed to sell Luongo for around £1m (could be £3m, depends who you listen to) and he wanted out. Sold Furlong for money despite him not being that great and would be second best to Rangel anyway. Freeman going for about £5m was good business as well even though it is a shame he has gone.

Brought in about 13 new players, mixture of young and old. Pugh, Wells (loan), Hugil, Amos (loan), Cameron, Ball and a few others look like they will do really well giving us a good balance. Plus we have Eze, Chair, Shodipo and Samuel who are all young who look like they will do well as well.

Bring on the relegation.

Very pleased with ours to be honest, we’ve been crying out for some pace for a few seasons now and some cover at centre back and we seem to have finally addressed that. We’ve shed some serious wages from players that weren’t even involved so that’s a massive plus.

Out
Lucas Joao - Reading - £5million, unbelievable that we’ve got that for him
Daniel Pudil - released
George Boyd - released
Fredrick Nielsen - released
Marco Matia - released
Almen abdi - released
Gary Hooper - released
David Jones - released

In pudil, Jones, Hooper, Boyd, matias and abdi we’ve freed up around 160k a week on players that didn’t play so it was important to get rid this summer

Incomings
Kadeem Harris - Cardiff - free
Jacob Murphy - Newcastle - loan
David Bates - Hamburg - loan
Julian Borner - Bielefeld - free
Paul jones - fleetwood - free
Moses Odubajo- Brentford - free
Massimo luongo - QPR - 1.1million

Considering we were under an embargo for much of the summer and we don’t have a manager I’m very pleased with the window

It was average,we were 1 experienced CB signing away from it being a good window,we let 2 CB leave and sent 2 out on loan so now have about 3 CB left in the club with a couple of FB that can fill in at CB.

Lost our 3 best players from last year, replaced none with similar quality.
Invested for the long term in a potential quality CDM but apart from that the team is worse off. Goalkeeper is unproven. Marriott struggling with fitness. I’m optimistic but not buzzing.

Harry Wilson to Jamie Paterson. Banter that is.

Rooney’s going on hol for a month before coming back in for a mini pre season in December. He ain’t gonna be ready for a few weeks at least. Whilst on paper he is a quality addition there’s plenty of things that need to fall in line for him to have a massive effect on our final position IMO. If we’re in touching distance of the top 6 then I’d like to think he can give us a push come our yearly collapse pre-spring.

Lets just stop pretending that Wayne Rooney isn’t going to be the best player in the Championship.

Never said he wasn't, but if he doesn't get firing until March it'll be too little too late if we're not in contention.

Second best however, Richard Keogh wouldn't be happy with that post.

Leeds made a £26.75m profit, but as far as the team goes, have replaced Roofe with Nketiah (loan), Saiz with Costa (£15m deferred until next season), Jansson with Ben White (loan) and Bailey Peacock-Farrell with a French GK loan

Makes us a bit weaker overall imo. Jansson was good for a few goals and a few crucial points, Saiz would have been the difference last year if he'd stayed, so hopefully Costa can give us what we missed after Saiz left

Kind of get the feeling if it doesn't happen this year we'll be in trouble, Bielsa will go and we may not even have Phillips to sell because his contract will be up. Harrison, Nketiah, Clarke and White aren't even ours. Hernandez is as old as time. Shit

And that is just profit...
Again, reaffirms how different this league is since the last time we were here. We can't compete with these numbers.

Be careful talking about a transfer window profit around here!

I've no idea why fans buzz off a transfer profit, bizarre

it's not like the club go oh we made 26.5 million so here's your 1% for being a fan

Like the look of Bauer, good leader and already top of the charts for headed clearances, definitely what we needed.

Bayliss & Nugent are yet to play and Green had about 15 minutes at Millwall.

Bodin is pretty much like a new signing though, good player to watch, brilliant feet.
