Shopping in Aldi the other day, my daughter asked if we could buy a watermelon. "No" I said, knowing full well that 50% of it would be binned. She then asked if she could have a watermelon slice. For half the price of a whole watermelon, you could buy about 1/25 of a watermelon, sealed in one of those plastic packs you need scissors to open. I bought the whole watermelon in the end.
