Whereas wrexham (budget dwarfed everyone else’s) and stockport to come up (decent manager and settled side) there wasn’t any other side which stood out to go up, we’d been knocking on the door a few seasons but finished 8th last season, and to go up was a great achievement.

However, crawleys achievement is 2nd to none and you have to wonder if the end of season awards were done at the end of the season (wonder why they aren’t) then surely lindsay would take the award for manager of the season instead of clough given the respective achievement.

Unfortunately we had a significant injury crisis in the middle of the park this season which arguably denied us of our three most creative midfield talents for the majority of the season. Barely played a settled midfield and we went from controlling games and being free scoring to just being a team reliant on winning games by the odd goal and being more physical and reliant on set pieces. We were second best in the middle of the park most games and that certainly showed yesterday.

Luckily, all will be back fit and raring to go next season. But our forward line may need wholesale changes...

I think we have four (maybe 5: 4 of whom are out of contract.) players good enough for league 1 and you have to give Orsi a chance after scoring 25 goals. So I would say we need 4 or 5 proper signings and a lot of deadwood clearing out to have a chance of a decent season.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

It's going to be very interesting to see how we get on, the comings and goings over the close season will be telling. One thing is a guarantee Lindsey will not change his playing style. He has reiterated that in numerous interviews and especially now we have had success, there's no way he's changing. Our game away at Wrexham towards the end of the season is a very good example of what is likely to happen week in week out. Either way, its going to be very entertaining, we will not be involved in a 0-0 draw.
