There is a lot of names from our Conference days but Craig Allardyce still probably stands top of the pile.

For waste of money Nathan Ellington and Ramon Vega.

There have been many but they were the most expensive mistakes!

The problem with naming the worst is that no one will have heard of them, most dissapointing for us has to be Steven Howard, ex premier league notches up 3 goals versus Sheffield U over 2 games, never looked like scoring against the other 22 teams

I've just checked his stats on Wiki . 42 appearances , 3 goals, all v Sheffield U over 2 games,.so 40 out of 42 without scoring at a lower level, embarrassing

He was ancient by then wasn't he? His stats for us in League Two through the Championship were fantastic, not far shy of a goal every other game over 5 seasons.

Was Lafayette really that bad? I know he stepped up but he looked pretty impressive in the Conference. Thought he'd do ok as a squaddie for you.

Yeah he was poor, I think it was partially a lack of confidence, to me it it didn't look like he himself believed he was Football League player. Just lacked any redeeming attributes really. It's weird because I remember him playing really well against us for Welling and then he just looked a completely different player or us, on face value he was a decent fit for our 4231 but it just didn't work out.

It also didn't help that we weren't exactly putting chances on a plate for our strikers last year.

I would also add Adam Boyd to Kenneth's list for a non conference era player for us.

Adam Boyd was playing Championship football - doesn't excuse him for turning up pissed and overweight at the start of the season, straight after getting a lucrative move here.

Eric Obinna - can't believe he was ever deemed good enough to be on the books at Arsenal, even at youth level, was woefully bad for us.

He came to us on relatively big money and a promise that he would torture defenders, he didn't hence dissapointment .

Nicky Ajose.

Seems to do quite well at every club he goes too, he was absolutely awful at us though.

There are loads for us, but the one that always sticks out for me is Rob Quinn. I hated him, used to start almost every game, & still to this day I never knew why, infuriating!

Useless Irish cnut. Did nothing except fall over, foul the opposition and get sent off at the first possible opportunity.

Gareth Roberts. Came with a good cv but was absolutely embarrassing. Played 11 games before we binned him off

The majority of players signed by Gary waddock usually from his previous club Aldershot, Keeper Nicki Bull was decent though.
