I miss hbk4894.

He used to post loads on here for a time, and every single thread of his was in the form of a question. And he didn't just talk footy - i think he must've covered every single topic there is under the sun.

For the third one - "Available for sale or let, due to unexpected immortality"

was it a penalty?

No! According to the BBC report it was a volley from 12 yards. I seem to recall it was further out than that. I wasn't at the game but it may have been on the telly for some reason...?

Utter heresy! Wash your mouth out!
We're not the only ones. Ask Bristol City fans what they think of him?

After he left us nobody wanted him and he ended up at Alfreton where I believe you (Barnet) got him from.

Weve done it to other forwards over the years. Danny Hockton signed with a great reputation. Scored a hat trick on debut and I'm not sure if he scored again. To this day a high and wide blast is still cheered with his name.

Aaron Bowen was a 6ft 8 striker who our manager said could be his best-ever signing - couldn't head the ball or play football.

Andy Nicholas - hundreds of games in the Football League, led to us having a ban on two-year contracts.

Harry Pan - Signed from 'Dortmund', dreadful, dreadful player.

Sean McConnville - Chester fans spent 90 mins mocking us for signing him. Utter dross. Since played something like 150 games for Accrington in League 1.

Danny Rowe (the Bradford one) - just astoundingly lazy and a massive twat.

I'm sure there are some loaned and one-game wonders I'm forgetting. Dion Donohue is probably on a par with those above, to be honest.

A few of the gems
He also said Jimmy Bullard was the best player Bolton were linked to but didn't sign, which is a bold thing to say about a failed comedian who fooled everyone into thinking he was a footballer.

We have been linked with many who we never got over the line include Rivaldo,Scholes and a young Alan Hanson
Dont think Bullard would make the top 30

Colin Methven and Eric Snookes - both vastly experiences ex-football league players who played in out non-league days - but were well past their best. Methven only lasted 7 games and Snookes was that bad he doesn't even have his time with us on his wikipedia page.
David Johnson (ex Liverpool and Everton) - has a very short spell as player manager in the 1985-86 season, from memory I think he got sent off twice in about 6 games and didn't last much longer. Was still probably a better manager for us that Brian Kidd though.....

Your non league days? Can you even remember a time when Barrow were a non league club?

I remember those days well. Barren were being talked about the country wide. They had a visionary manager
Comparisons of Guardiola. and Bielsa at Leeds.
Free flowing football dictated by decent players like Rooney brother of England legend Wayne.
Those days have long gone with the manager repeating the feat at a much bigger club where he can once again play his Expansive high pressing brand of football. Rooney will once again link up with Evatt at newly promoted Bolton in the summer of 21., as they head back towards the championship.
Barren meanwhile limped on in season 20/21 furloughing injured players and sacking managers nilly willy
The roof caved in the season after [though they have no roof to cave in] When The remaining decent players had to be sold to keep the club solvent. Quigley going to Fylde where he would help them gain league status
and Matty Kay joining Bolton on a free in the summer of 22.
Barren unfortunatly returned to the National league in the summer of 22 with the players leaving the sunken ship [submarine].Managers came and went every three months and they would once again start there first season back in the national league with there 8th manager in two seasons..............Welcome back David Dunne

The nature of this thread means that you have to diss one of your own, i notice the opening thread lists Nicky Hunt as his worst player really. This is a local guy who not only played for his boyhood club, but held down a regular spot in the Greatest Bolton Team of all time? he played with Okocha, Youri, Campo, the lot he isn't even in the top 100 throughout our history. CIid, Jardell, Chris Taylor have a much stronger case and throughout time we have had some stinkers.

Most Tranmere fans could name various garbage signings or loanees. People like Eric McManus, Steve Foster, nearly every signing made by Mickie Adams etc. not forgetting John Barnes super signing Kitson Baine but the one name that comes up time and time again is a guy we had on loan from Liverpool in 2008. He was Ghanian by birth but played 4 youth team internationals for Spain. After England he played in Denmark, Norway, Thailand and Malaysia. Just how he even got a professional contract at a club like Liverpool, let alone was choosen to play any level of International football for a top football nation like Spain, is still one a total mystery to those of us who had the misfortune of watching him play. I give you IMO the worst player in the history of TRFC. Godwin Antwi. Even now 12 years later the words " at least hes better than Godwin Antwi" can be heard at Rovers matches after yet another signing or loan turns out to be a dud.

Pavol Suhaj, Cameron Park and Chris Atkinson comfortably the top 3 for me given how their careers panned out afterwards.

Special mention to other shite like Mesca, Kevin O'Connor, Danny Haynes, Andy White and Darren Moss as well.

Didn’t you swap Colin Little for Andy White as well? Poor bit of business that.

Col was 5th choice striker behind Hulse, Ashton, Jones and Jack and was struggling with fitness. Andy White was a completely different type of player so we exchanged both players on loan initially. White was poor in his brief loan spell with us in League One.

For some reason though, we gave him a one year permanent contract in the Championship 2 seasons later and he was totally out of his depth.

Lee Matthews another terrible signing for us after you lot got rid as well.

Lee Matthews was ok for us... when he was fit, sadly that was rare.
