Getting closer to the creation of these threads 4 games and apart from postponements, everyone will have played everyone else... so how does it look now.
Things at the very top have opened up a bit, Northampton have gone from being a 'maybe' to an almost certainty, taking advantage of some faltering by Portsmouth to get into the automatics, while a slight stumble by Plymouth has opened the possibility of someone else going top. There may not be so much of a gap now between Portsmouth and the rest of the chasing pack, but with the quality that Pompey have, I'm not sure I could see Pompey dropping out of the automatic race altogether, or someone else getting into it.
Three points separate Accrington, Orient, Carlisle, Mansfield, Wycombe and Exeter, with Wycombe having two games in hand. Accrington have been the most consistent, managing to stay in the play-off places while others switch around, and with a game in hand I would imagine will still be in the play-off places come January. Orient have been on poor form and have been gradually sliding down the table after their excellent start, they need to turn that around or risk falling out of the play-off places. Mansfield have also hit a spell of poor form to drop out of the playoffs while Carlisle have been in and out of the playoffs for a while now always remaining close to the boundary.
Exeter are hitting form at the right time, while Wycombe seem to have arrested a decline and look back up the table and with their games in hand, are certainly likely to figure in the promotion thread, while the teams below them, Wimbledon, Luton, Brovers, Notts and in-form Crawley will all feel the door is open for them to get into the play-off chase.
Things don't look quite so close down the other end. York, Yeovil and Daggers are all in atrocious form, and if that continues then you can only see relegation being 2 from 3. The direness of those three means that without doing anything particularly special, the likes of Barnet, Hartlepool, Stevenage and Newport (who are six games unbeaten to be fair to them) are increasing the gap.
Morecambe and Cambridge are 12 and 11 points clear of relegation respectively, and Morecambe have a game in hand, so no danger for them, but both are on pretty poor form and you can't see either of them scrambling through the top half to get into the playoff chase, even though the gap is only 6 and 7 points respectively. So they both look set for mid-table, though at least Morecambe are making it entertaining.
Who I think will busiest in the threads.
