John Welsh definitely.

Paul Gallagher, probably, as we're only offering 'pay as you play' as it stands.

Send him to Ewood.

Elliott Ward is gonna be out the door, spend the second half of the season on loan at MK Dons. Can imagine Corry Evans may move on too.

Steele and O'Neil out of contract, good riddance.

Reid & Bryan 1 year left on their deals, £20m for the pair would do me, don't really like Bryan anyway.

Lots of deadwood like Kent, Diony, Woodrow, Hegeler, Moore etc who all won't be here next season.

Flint to Brighton as well imo.

Andreas Bjelland is out of contract, would love him to stay but he hasn’t played enough over 3 seasons for us to warrant an increase on his wage (one of, if not the top earner), imagine he’ll go after one last pay day, possibly back in Denmark.

Quite a lot of players out of contract at the end of next season, off the top of my head Jozefzoon, Judge, Macleod will probably all be sold if we get any decent bids - shame as Jozefzoon has been key at times for us this year, Judge is a legend and such a shame we missed so much time with him because of his injury, and the same with Macleod, he could develop into a really good player, but my guess is he’ll go back to Rangers.

Hopefully other than that we keep everyone here!

Nedum Onouha is leaving. Wants to go up north.
Jamie Mackie and James Perch are both also leaving on a free.
Jack Robinson will probably go as well, he hasn't signed a new deal yet. Be a shame if he left after we stood by him through his major injury and then leave at the first chance he gets.

Bent and Shackell for definite. Losing them two will reduce our wage bill nicely, given they’re supposedly on 40k and 30k respectively.

Baird and Roos will also probably go.

Surprised how early we've released our retained list. Ross Wallace, Glenn Loovens and Jake Kean all being released, agree with that the first two were great free signings but legs have gone and needed moving on, Kean has never played a game and been shipped out on loan to League Two the last two seasons.

Daniel Pudil has accepted a one year deal, can't argue with that considering his performances this season, especially if we are sticking with a back 3 he adds good depth. Offered Adthe Nuhiu one too and hope he signs it along with a few youngsters. Not a chance Sean Clare or George Hirst will sign on, they'll end up in a Premier League development squad on 15K a week.

Jacob Butterfield will thankfully go back to Derby at the end of his loan spell with Winnall coming back here, Venancio goes back to Portugal for now but hopefully we can sort out a permanent deal.

90/100k a week between those 4 do we reckon? Free's up 5 million a year on the old wage bill. Obscene.

Could be rubbish but I’ve heard from someone with a contact close to the player that Jake Bidwell wants to move back home. Apologies for the Chinese whispers but read into that what you will.

If we lost Cunningham then i'd happily take Bidwell if he wants a move back north.

Doubt us or Wigan could match his QPR wages though.

Bidwell is okay. Wouldn't be upset if he stays or goes. Pretty solid if unspectacular. We have a 15k cap on wages so he won't be on a lot. Not sure what you would expect him to be on?

He’ll definitely be near the high end of that - only left us because we couldn’t afford his demands.

In fairness, I don't really know what is high and what isn't these days.

Yeah that’s definitely fair. Preston and us have a much lower ceiling for players who are too expensive! Our highest earner is on £10k pw and we’re letting him go come the end of the season - great player but can’t afford the new contract

Good luck John. #pnefc can confirm that @jwelsh08 will end his six year association with the Lilywhites when his contract comes to an end in the summer.

We would like to thank John for his leadership and commitment throughout his time at the club.

John Welsh will end his six year association with the Lilywhites when his contract comes to an end in the summer.

The Liverpudlian-midfielder was brought to the club by Graham Westley in the summer of 2012 and he has been a fantastic servant and leader in the dressing room, making almost 200 appearances for the Lilywhites.

He was club captain and brought a superb work ethic and attitude to the club that he has passed on to the players around him, including working with the Academy in recent times.

The 34-year-old lifted the Play-Off Final winners’ trophy at Wembley alongside Tom Clarke in 2015 and has been a firm fans’ favourite during his time at Deepdale due to his commitment and never say die attitude.
The club will say thank you to John with a presentation on the pitch prior to Sunday’s final home league game of the regular season against Burton Albion.

Speaking about the No.19, current manager Alex Neil said: “It is with sadness that we say thank you and goodbye to a player who has been a fantastic servant to this club.

“John is one of our longest serving players and he has been a captain and a leader in the dressing room.
“He has been excellent to work with and has been a model professional and I am delighted we are giving him a send off before kick-off on Sunday and I join everyone else connected with the club in thanking him for what he has done, during the peak of his career, for Preston North End and wish him all the best in the future, wherever he ends up playing next year.

“Wherever that is, I know he will be an asset to them.”

:(:(:(:(:(

Bet he goes somewhere like Fleetwood or Bradford.

Rumours of a big payday at AFC Fylde in the last window.

Accy is a shout, under fellow scouser Coleman.

Sad about Welsh leaving cos he’s been class for us but it’s the right decision. Can see him going back to Tranmere if they win the play offs.
