How do you run up those kind of debts in a financial year when you don't pay any rent, play part time and have their crowds?!

Exactly. For the first time in ages, everything on the pitch is amazing - as it has been for the last five years. But off the field it seems to be a shambles, with Mike Smith and the Board running up these losses and then waiting for Peter Jordan, the majority shareholder, to bail them out.

If he's willing to let it go for nothing mauve 1FF non league posters could buy the club.

Would be a good laugh if nothing else. I'd chuck in a tenner a month for it....

Correct, it's not us - no way is our budget 750k for starters.

It will certainly be interesting to see whether this happens. A few other articles have said that we're planning a 'Conference South budget' for next season. This would probably result in Garry Hill leaving, as he'd think what's the point given the budget is already limited. And it would mean getting relegated and having to pay £18 to watch it. 450k worth of losses in the last year, too. So an investor comes along with money, albeit not loads, to manage the club better off the field and put a bit of cash in too. This would mean Mike Smith, who loves the limelight of being chairman, getting removed from his position. And that is where the problem lies. He isn't going to let it up easily.

Let it go, Mike. For the good of the club.

Surely you'd have to have a budget bear 750k to get the 400k losses in a year?

With no other major costs (for you) than staffing really, the money can't be going anywhere else! Can it?

The staff wages is one of the things Ashley Read highlighted, so that is a contributing factor. We'd have made the play-offs last season if our budget was 750k. It most certainly wasn't and still isn't.

Yeah fair enough. Would agree you're very likely not to have that as the budget. Just baffled where the money's gone!

I don't think Woking having a £750k is that pie in the sky.

They had a slightly higher average attendance than us last season (albeit at slightly cheaper prices), and lost £400k while we made a small profit - im guessing our budget being a full time side was probably around £550/600k so for Woking to have spent £150k more than us on players last season given their losses in comparison to ours is possible.

I was told today our budget is around £700,000 for players and it's one of the highest in this league but a fair bit behind Forest Green. If that's true some of you have your figures way off.
