I think it shows Manchester United's defence has only been so strong because of their negative approach, they had to attack today and looked really wobbly. A few injuries haven't helped to be fair, but surely best to go out now rather than waste time and energy? No hope of winning it.

I am and have always took the EL seriously, it's a fun and mad tourney. Liverpool have as good a chance as anyone of winning it and if they play to their ability - which they don't often do, see Sunday as an example - then they can win it.

No Schneiderlin or Carrick to protect the defence which had a couple of kids in the full-back positions against a team who were throwing bodies forward - not really fair to judge the defence on that.

He has to say something, the idea of United going backwards after the money they have spent is something he can't contemplate.

Oh, and before someone chimes in with the obvious, I'm well aware Liverpool have gone backwards in the last 18 months, hence why changes were made and Klopp has been brought in.
