Great to win that, living a very charmed life there, with Ince and the other lad hitting the post, and the challenge/foul on Bent first half.

Hope Derby are as poor defensively when we play them.

TBF They had more chances but simply collapsed once Wolves went in front.

Not bad considering a good number of their team is on loan from Premier League sides. We were solid defensively and it was a much deserved win, The longer were ignored by the media the better. UTW.

On a sad note it looks like it's Kevin Doyle's last game for us as he's going to the MLS for Colorado Rapids. Been a great servant to the club, best of luck to him.

Just got home, safe to say it's not our year again this year.

Thought we played ok, we just can't can't be solid at the back for 90 minutes unfortunately. First half seemed pretty even, second I thought we had more control but Wolves took one of their half chances and we didn't. The opener was a really poor goal to concede, he should never have got his shot away. The second is a collectively awful, from Forsyth's clearance to Grant's backwards punch. He's never done that in his career, what a fucking time to do it.
It was much better attacking wise than the last two games, hit the bar, post, Bent's been inches off a couple of good crosses, keepers made some decent saves. Wolves defended really well, they seemed to make lots of last ditch tackle's and blocks in that second half. Kuszczak is still a bit of a flapper but did enough - certainly more than our goalie. Sakho is on another level, Afobe and Dicko nuisances but bearable. Should be a cert for the play offs.

What is it with ref's when we play teams from the West Midlands? Blatant foul, blatantly the last man, goal scoring opportunity.. no card?! Whilst we need to make sure we do our own jobs as a team it doesn't help when the man officiating is getting big decisions wrong every other week.

A fight for the play offs it is, this break couldn't have come at a better time for us now. Re-group and get back to basics.
My hope for promotion is wearing thin, there's too many things that are going against us at the moment for me to think we have a chance.

So fucking pissed off, should never have lost that game!! Then a nightmare journey home with some road closures. I think we will finish outside the play-off places. Defence has been a huge issue all season and is proving to be our downfall.

Oh good, you get to see how useless we are on Sky Sports this Friday.

We pose no threat whatsoever in the final third, and that will continue here. In real danger of slipping out of the playoffs after this.

Wolves 2-0 Derby

You wouldn't happen to know the correct scores for any of today's fixtures, would you?

Think Rammy correctly called 0-1 Bamford for their midweek game too. I bet he doesn't even do consolation betting.

Really poor form from Derby but them playing the bottom 3 should see them make the play-offs.

I really just hope we go into some good form now just so we get 3rd/4th for the playoffs so the second leg is at home. With a full strength side we have a chance, but do we want us to go up with our current defence? Unless drastic changes are made we will be murdered in the Prem.

But you may get 12 points...

We'll get less than that with our current defence.

I think changes will be made to the defence regardless of what division were in.

Albentosa needs time, got to remember it's only his 4th start?
Christie looks shot of confidence and his quality is very poor at the moment. Keogh/Bucko are good Championship defenders but not quite good enough for a top 2 place.
Forsyth has been decent overall but would need replacing if we ever get to the Premier League.

It's a weird one, our back five went 7 games without conceding a goal at one point yet now we can't keep a clean sheet at all. Confidence is a biggie, individual mistakes are costing us like mad at the moment.

At least we've only got Watford next.

Bollocks was that not a red card. Either that or the goal stands. Laughable officiating yet again.

Laughable defending by us yet again too.

On the whole, we played a lot better than we have been doing, but the problem still remains. We can't score, and we can't defend.

I was impressed with that win. I agree we should have had an early Batth (See what I did there? Good thing referee Keith Stroud didn't, eh?) but we've had terrible red cards recently (van la Parra when 1-0 up against Bournemouth may yet change the final outcome of two clubs' seasons and Sako against Watford for his part in Fernando "The Magical Fainting Goat" Forestieri's stage debut) and you win some you lose some. Also worth pointing out that some of the poor decisions went against us during the match, including a corner given as a goal kick minutes before 'that incident'.

However, Derby have three PL players on loan, we have none. It was a gritty performance from Wolves. I really thought a Derby equaliser was imminent for much of the second half, but they seemed curiously wasteful in front of the goal. They should have gone for Leon Clarke instead of Darren Bent, to be fair. I am sure a Clarke-Delort line-up at the front would launch Derby into new pastures.

I'd be pissed off if I was a Derby supporter, but...errr...I'm not. I have this feeling they are going to miss out on promotion again.

It's just so frustrating, we were 5 points clear of 3rd and we have had this form. Not sure what will happen if we miss out again.

Hopefully better teams will buy all your players and you will languish. When I say better teams, I actually mean lower half prem teams with obscene amounts of money. It will be like the Wolves/Coventry effect of the 90's when I used to want to kill myself, seeing Robbie Keane, Steve Froggatt, and not many others would have felt the same but I always liked Paul Cook, trudging off to a side in the prem who you loathed and resented because of it. I was delighted when Richards didn't sign for them and went Southampton instead!

Thought wolves always kept us at arms length but there were times when the final ball was lacking - Christie and Forsyth being the main culprits.

To mention about the premier league loans, there are just 3 players in Bent, Ince and Lingaard. from our/my perspective we would prefer martin to be playing up top instead of Bent, Russell on one wing and then ince on the other wing. I'm not sure on Lingaard yet. The point is though that injuries have shown how thin and one dimensional the team/squad is. Premier league players mean nothing anyway, as you learnt with players like hunt, Johnson and Doyle (if I remember right) when you were relegated.

True mate, the time of posting I had a couple too many to be fair! We certainly were very lucky regarding the disallowed goal and not going down to 10 men.

That's almost a third of your outfield players.

i was impressed with Christie. Thought he played OK, from memory.

Agreed. In fact, if you watch the game again you'll see that Hughes and other players didn't pass to him unless they had to because nothing came from his side when attacking.
