The mighty Rams!!!
Do you really think wolves have a play off competitive team? I don't. Especially comparing you sold Sako and your centre half and not really replaced them.

Definitely not, we'll be nowhere near the playoffs. A relegation battle though, that is a strong possibility.

Sako wasn't sold, his contract ran out.

Imagine having to go to work at HT. Planned on getting home and watching the second half which would have been enjoyable but heard someone say "get in Leeds" so mixed emotions. Delighted with the result but disappointed not to have been able to see it!

Ummm, nobody thinks Wolves are a play-off team. In fact, Wolves fans have been very realistic about our prospects this season. Personally, I don't think we will be relegated but we'll be closer in points to the bottom of the table than the top, come May.

As has been already said, Sako left on a free and we have signed Nathan Byrne, Jed Wallace and Jordan Graham (because that's how it works in football...you sign three mediocre players to replace one good one) but we had already brought in Tommy Rowe, praising him as a Sako replacement, and then talked about Dave Edwards as being the "natural replacement" for Sako. So never mind the quality, feel the width: five players who carry an "I'm a Sako" badge.

To be fair, the only person who hasn't been brought in as a Sako replacement is someone who can..ummm... replace Sako.

If you'd have told me Souleymane fucking Doukara would change the game and Sam Byram would score a brace I'd have laughed you off the planet to be honest. Dallas showing his class of late and deserved his first goal for sure...especially after that early volley.

Some fans will get carried away now and suggest a play off push is on but we're still miles away to be honest.

I do ~~ and I'm not a Doghead supporter.
With the owner wanting away ~ meaning a question mark on Jackett's future, as well as some players ~~ the odds are stacked against a really 'tight-knit' team ethos.
But they have a pretty decent squad, they just need belief pumped into them.

I watched it tonight, and read 3 chapters of me library book at the same time ~~ :err:

I don't know if it was Graham 23 ~ {I don't know their players that well}~ the guy who did 3 absolute pathetic dives.
One, six inches from the touchline in front of a linesman who seemed to be thinking about his supper then saw a player on the floor and flagged.

That Ref was a total coward ~ a homie as SAF called them.

I think the Dogheads will be close, or in the play-offs. Just get belief into them.....and stop bloody diving

:D

Yeah thats him Letsby, first I have seen him properly, looks good but as someone from the generation that considers dark blue football boots too pouncey and colourful, seeing his diving was a tad irksome. Doyle used to go to ground overly softly, however he at least used to draw contact onto himself, rather than finding it.

My issue with us trying to play 442 is I genuinely don't think McDonald works in that system. Personally I would try Coddy and Price, that is a boring option and would resemble the attacking flair of when we played Karl Henry and Nigel Quashie together once, however we can then let the wingers and fullbacks push on.

Personally we weren't going to replace Sako in terms of quality, he cost £3 million, we had turned down £5million once for him, and he was the best or one of the best to have been in the division for me. However to not even really try was the real issue.

How short is your shift!?

I know, you meant you recorded it. You're always welcome in the relegation thread Wolves fans, literally more the merrier.

Surprised it's taken Dallas this long to score for Leeds, he always looked dangerous for us last season. Think he got 12 or 13 goals in the end.

How is Byrne doing? He was far too good for League One level, has he been a regular for you this season? I would have taken him in the summer in a heartbeat but he was way out of our price range.

Good, but not good enough. He's one of those players that will operate well - and look very special - from the middle of the Championship right the way through Leagues 1 and 2, looking better the lower you get. At Pompey, for example, he'd look as great as, say, .... ummm..... Jed Wallace.
There are other players like Nathan Byrne. Michael Jacobs, for example, and probably even van la Parra. We attract them because we won't shell out that extra million for enough players who will operate in the upper half of the Championship and the lower half of the PL.
We are CANE.

How much did you pay for Byrne?

Been a bit unlucky really, gone close a few times, plus we don't create as much as you guys did. Leading our assists though and playing with confidence at the moment.

Nathan Byrne has always looked utter shite defensively when i've seen him, better off playing him as an out and out winger.

Never seen the big appeal, especially at £1m. As far as league One, attacking full backs go, I would have rated Tavernier and Darikwa higher.

He has shown me nothing to indicate he could play fullback what so ever. Baffling decision to sell Stearman to buy a winger we didn't seem to need is my personal point of view.

Don't think we've ever played Bryne as a full back, didn't even know he could play there to be honest. To me it seems pointless having 3 players (Ojo, Bryne and Graham) in the same position who seem to all have identical traits. Graham seems to be the best of the 3 from what I've seen, and I'd purely rather play Bryne than Ojo because he's our player and not Liverpool's.
