Expected nothing, so not too disappointed that we lost.

The big kick in tge bollocks is Gillespie being suspended.

Very anxious about whether it's been deemed serious foul play or denying goal scoring opportunity. The latter is only a 1 game ban compared to 3.

Au revoir playoffs...

I know that's our season over now for sure, we had to beat Wimbledon tonight but we were unlucky, so sad to lose in such a way and miss out on the play offs. :(

Here's a fitting song:

4 points off the playoffs with a game in hand. No way am I throwing in the towel just yet!

And even if we don't make top 7... after last seasons shit arse season, a mediocre mid table finish will be like a ray of sunshine filtering through the clouds at the end of a miserable, wet, cold, windy, depressing day.

I'd have more faith if we showed some consistency, it's one step forward one step backward at present. If we were to win 2 or 3 on the bounce we'd be in a great position, but it's not been happening for the past 2/3 month. There's still an opportunity for us to sneak into the top 7, but it'll be difficult with some decent teams around us.

Fair result or not?

Carlisle had the better of the play without really producing much, after Gillespie was sent off looked the most likely to score as well with Raynes hitting the post. Ultimately the lack of pace and mobility between Raynes and Ellis cost you a point and the lack of creativity cost you a win - McQueen's balls in were especially poor.

Just seen the 2 sitters we missed first half. Wyke's 1 v 1 that he ballooned high and wide, then hope's effort that hit the post. They are both easy chances that have to be put away.

Only ourselves to blame for the defeat.

Personally think that's season over now, we were already in a relatively poor position and needed to pull something out of the bag tonight to put ourselves back in contention. The bright side is that, looking at the team, I can't see anyone apart from Gillespie who would be poached by another club in the summer, which means that if we can get rid of players like Troy who earn a Kav wage still, spend some of the money we've earned this season and keep the core of the team together we should be well set to put together another promotion push next season. Fair play to Wimbledon winning when it sounded like we were the better side, would rather see you in the play-offs than the underachieving 'big' sides.

Carlisle fans Ive had a look at your forum and lots are complaining over the ref. Yep he was awful but also for us. I see you feel there were two missed penalties for you. Well we had one stonewall not given for handball at the other end. its just the way luck rolls sometimes. As for your CB covering so maybe the keeper should not have been sent of I think that a bit of straw clutching.

It was without a shadow of a doubt a red card all day long, my first reaction was "he's gone". Both Carlisle penalty appeals looked like dives, especially Asamoah's. Wimbledon should have had a penalty for handball.

No way is Carlisle's season over. Losing at Wimbledon isn't anything to be down about, they're a good solid, nailed on play off outfit for me; been saying it since I saw them at Field Mill back in August, and they have just as much potential to win them as anybody.

Loads of games left for Carlisle to get a run going, and only the top four are pulling away from everyone else. It's so tight up there that any team that puts together a run, such as the one the Dons are currently on, will secure a play off spot.

My only issue with the play offs is, the last time we played in them we went in to them on the back of: Wins - 11, Draws - 2, Lose - 1 - like a steam train in full throttle,.......and never even made the final. So form going in to them isn't always everything.

It doesn't matter if the defender was covering. It's still denying a goal chance.

Plenty of defenders get sent off when they wipe someone out despite them having the keeper still to beat.

Clear red.

I saw the highlights and the chances missed by Wyke and Hope are inexcusable. I don't think they're good enough for us and I'm being honest.

Another awful pitch we had to play on as well.

Would've taken some block from Ellis to make that not a goal scoring opportunity had he shot. I see what Curle's doing trying to deflect the blame but in this case it looks like a clear red card.

No surprise to me seeing how many clear chances we missed last night, with the amount of goals we've scored this season you'd think we were quite clinical but we do also miss a hell of a lot of good opportunities. Thing is, if we score one of those early chances then we'd probably go on to win it as we're pretty good at defending overall especially with a lead to lose. Again, fair play to Wimbledon for taking their chance and putting bodies on the line to then defend the lead.

I'm still not sold on Hope, think there's a good player in there but he hasn't actually produced a whole lot for all of his efforts. Wyke is more than good enough for us.

Wyke will come up with one really good performance in every 10 games, the rest are disappointing.

That chance he missed early on shows that he lacks confidence in front of goal and he is supposed to be our best finisher apparently.

He doesn't really put in good performances as such, he isn't involved in play enough to do that. He'll score goals that nobody else on the team would have the composure to finish, for example that late equaliser against Portsmouth last season. Still needs some work obviously but with a bit more physical work over summer to get him to the bulkiness a player of his height needs to be I think he'll only get better.

I don't mind Hope, despite the fact he's playing out of position on the left, he's been decent. He looks dangerous with the ball at his feet, but that's a bit wasted on the wing.

I'm a fan of Wyke also, always puts in a shift. Obviously he's not played too well in recent games, but not many of our attacking players have. Maybe a game for Asamoah at Morecambe this weekend.

We've basically got to go for it against Morecambe, we really can't afford to not win it. Wyke and Ibehre up front, Gilliead playing in behind and then Kennedy, Joyce and Comley to link up with the defence and break up counter attacks. Losing Grainger has been very bad for us, really think we'd have won at least one or two more of the recent games had he been playing.

It's not exactly like a pitch would inhibit Carlisle's playing style!!

We were wanting to play good passing attacking football this season and we did to start off with but since winter came we have had to adapt to playing on shite pitches which are the normality in this league. That's why we've struggled lately.

Did planning for the inevitably shit pitches not occur to anyone? Schoolboy error from Curle there.

Wimbledon's manager Ardley said that we were excellent and deserved something, another opposition manager complimenting us there just like Coleman did the other night. Funny how we play very good against Accrington and Wimbledon and get no wins yet we play absolutely crap against Stevenage and get a victory, strange old game this is.
