What do we think?

On the road I have found getting away from Notts Forest to be a complete disaster.

Naturally you'd have thought that the bigger the ground, the worse the traffic however I have found getting away from Leeds is normally ok?

These thread has been created for an excuse for people like me to moan, I am more than aware it is a very gormy thing to bang on about

Depends where you park at Leeds games.
We went in the car last year and parked in the big car park adjacent to the ground, next to the away coach park.

My son went on the coach because we were going up to Ripon directly after the game.
He was actually back in Rotherham before I got out of the car park.

Coach for me in future.

Made the mistake of parking in the Madejski stadium car park about 12 years ago.Took over an hour to get out afterwards. Now i always park in the Travelodge/Pub car park on the Basingstoke Road.

bigger attendances tend to mean more traffic

As a general rule Reading sell out the ground and have 15,000 or so watching the match in pubs nearby so it is pretty bad around our way it has to be said.

I remember when I just passed my driving test getting lost for about 2 hours around Crystal Palace, even a GPS doesn't know it's way around that end of London.

I usually get the train to games nowadays, but from the few away games I've drove to in this league I find getting around Sheff Wed after a game can be a pain in the arse.

I park at the Speedway site if I drive up. Absolutely awful to get back onto the M4 afterwards, though.

Yeah i used to park there for a bit and then in Hewlett Packard before they no longer let people park there. As you say getting back on the M4 is a nightmare. Now i drive through the back roads down past Showcase Cinema in Winnersh and then the A329M. Normally back home by 6.

I'd rather drag myself to the train station on my arse than park in that

Forest is an extremely easy ground to get away from, though it depends where you park. We normally park a 5 minute walk from the ground and have no issues at all. Imagine away fans parking by the away end would struggle.

We made the mistake of driving to Derby once and parked in some little shop car park at the back of Pride Park complex which was silly.

Doncaster was bloody awful as well.

As a rule I tend to get the trains nowadays as they're just much better.

Every time I've been to Forest we've parked at Meadow Lane and got away very quickly.

Not Championship but Barnsley was awful last season. Parked on the car park near the away end where all the coaches park up as well, and the only exit was the top of the hill where it meets the entrance to the 'MetroDome', and it took us nearly 45 minutes to get out of the car park.

Yep, we were stuck on there for almost an hour! Awful.

I always chose a decent walk over a close parking space, have a quick nosey on Google before I leave and pick somewhere a couple of miles away (preferably a pub) and have a good half hour walk or so. Used to do the same back in Ye Ol Days of no internet, pick somewhere out on the A-Z and head for there and look for a pub. Always stood me in good stead, can't really think of any disastrous exits from stadia.

I expect our ground is pretty easy to get away from, more so these days with the low attendances, but you can be on any number of motorways within about 15 min.

Not championship, but it took me an hour to get out of Wembley car park. I got in the car at 17:00: got home at midnight.

And thanks to my Dad's knowledge of London (me, my dad some of my friends and some of his friends were in the car) we were able to get away from all the traffic on the M4, some people I know got home at 2:00 AM.

Parked on a side street at Birmingham tonight, took about 20 minutes to get onto the a38m, and then flew down the m42. All-in-all, 55 minutes to get back, very good time. Took nearly 2 hours to get there though.

Just how drunk were you? And what happened with the megabus?
Phone had my ticket for the coach journey but battery died as I was in the queue to get on the coach, so had to wait for the next one, but Megabus didn't believe me and I had to pay to charge my phone, when that was done it was already about 10.

I went to their stall at the station to get a ticket for the next coach and they sent me to the ticket office at the other end of the station even though you could get the tickets from their stall, this was as the coach was pulling in, so I missed that one.

Bought a ticket for their next coach which was 1am, I had trusted the ticket office to be able to do their job, but they put the wrong day on my ticket which I didn't notice until I checked as the coach pulled in. Showed this to the megabus people and they told me that coach was now fully booked and they wrote me a note for it and said I should go and see if a spare seat came up.

There was a seat but I didn't get back to Cardiff until nearly 5, we had some detour as we tried to leave London, then had to get a train from Cardiff up to my uni

My advice would be keep your phone off until you are at the front xD!

Jeez, that must've been stressful! Crazy!

I can imagine how bad it is leaving Hillsborough to go South, you'd be heading back into the City and then going through the East end towards Meadowhell and the M1. Future reference head North in the Barnsley direction for about 10 miles and get on the M1 at junction 36, seems counter intuitive but I would imagine it's quicker
