Can't remember a bus being bricked (you might be thinking of Hednesford) but a firework was thrown in to the Chorley away end the night we beat them 3-0.

I'm not so sure about that..... we had trouble in the cup a couple of years back and we had the RMP and Shore Patrol helping out due to the Army/Navy element too. And there was hassle down there too, both sets down early on a Sunday for a pre-match Army/Navy punch up then Sunday lunch, added into Colchester bringing a few because they were in Gosport, especially the paras who travelled with Colchester who wanted to fight everyone, and it made for a very spicy day.

I didn't go to the game but I now work at the pub where it kicked off, think you had a fair few fans arrested and we had a couple, 2 police officers hurt aswell. The staff that still work here always described the scenes as chaos and they had pint glasses thrown at the bar missing one girl by inches.

The bricking of the bus did happen v chorley.. glad we dont have to play them anymore. Remember a fan of theirs on here trying to create a non starter rivalry. It only the one year in the evo stik prem as it was a top of the table clash. [emoji23]

Why? Certainly beats playing the likes of Boreham Wood and Braintree (no disrespect to those teams). Couple of very good away days there and two decent crowds with good atmosphere's at home, not often we get that now.

All are crowds were better then; riding the crest of promotions, a win every week and it was a title clash.

I think there was two Shots fans arrested, the real trouble started when the paras turned up. Just because they were squaddies, everyone associates them with us, it was carnage, certainly the worst I've seen since the 80's, but it was very much the Colchester mob who caused the grief.

Was quite bad when we went to Corby a few years ago in the FA Cup 1st round. That place is like going back in time, truly bizarre. Both sets of supporters in one stand, separated by 3 old men in hi-vis jackets and selling cans of lager and cider to drink on the terraces. Just plain stupid, especially given the plethora of over-aggressive pissed up Scotsmen in the area, most of which had probably never been to watch Corby before.
