You are right though, a strut along the front when the weather is like this is beautiful, the sooner Longscar Hall is flattened and something else is put up in it's place the better.

I don't mind somewhere a bit rough with character like Barrow or Dover. Borehamwood is just a hellhole whose only redeeming feature is the ease and speed with which you can get back to London. Harlow, Crawley, Stevenage and (Tr)Ashford are just as bad, though not currently in the National League.

is a bit rough around the edges,but Christ Grimsby,I've never seen so many boarded up or simply abandoned buildings:

Whilst there are indeed a lot of really shit areas here there is also a lot of work being done to try and improve things, one of the worst estates has been completely knocked down and rebuilt and is now really nice and quite sought after.
Unfortunately the main problem is the amount of smack heads living here and you see drug deals being done in broad daylight and nobody seems to bat an eyelid.

I was working in Freeman Street in Grimsby only three weeks ago, it was like the wild west, I've grew up in Hartlepool so I've seen rough arsed areas most of my childhood but that place takes the biscuit, thought I was gonna get robbed for my Cooplands dinner!

I was lucky to find a Cooplands (which in reality is 2nd last rung of the ladder just above Thomas the Bakers) in amongst the boarded up shops, pawnbrokers and Polish shops, I'd never seen so many bicycles with carrier bag seats in one place before.

Last went to Grimsby about a year ago, seen worse places to be honest but if anything it just highlights the lack of investment up north, places dying and people surviving.

Walk round Sheffield centre and you just see the "homeless" and then folks on spice, you can spend cash trying to refresh the area but until money is used to cure the issues of these people causing a nuisance and making the areas unwelcoming then you've no chance.

My mum lived, and sadly died, in Cleethorpes so I can offer an opinion with some anecdotal evidence.
