Gutted!

Even though it was on the cards I'm still saddened to hear it, what a superb wrestler he was. Glad they changed the mania 30 storylines and he got his chance with the title before injuries took over.

Even though it was unlikely he was going to return I still hoped.

I assume with him tweeting it it is legit and not some storyline to try improve viewers for Raw, surely they wouldn't go down that road.

I couldn't stand Bryan, to be honest - he bored the hell out of me. I could appreciate his technical wrestling skill, though.

He seems a little young to be retiring, what sort of injuries has he picked up?

Gutted. Seems odd after a couple of other doctors had cleared him, maybe something else has come up.

WWE's doctors have been very reluctant, or should I say - they won't pass him medically fit to perform again (or haven't so far)..presumably this is either a work (I doubt it, considering there has been 'Thank you daniel' tweets posted from the official WWE page tonight) or they have finally said look 'it's just not going to happen, possibly ever'. If I'm correct he had neck issues, but I think he also had a large amount of concussions and with WWE's new wellness policy, you can only have so many before they say 'no thanks', with what happened in the last 20 years and people dying/suffering massive issues in life after the ring with concussion - they have stamped their foot, which started with the banning of chair shots.

Rumours are he asked for his release over the weekend but they wouldn't allow it. Possibly related to that.

Seems he had some more tests done over the weekend of the Rumble and the results were enough to scare him into retirement.

The right thing to do obviously.

It's a travesty. The guy wrestled as hard in front of 100 people as he would in front of sold out stadiums. He was one of the few that was in touch with the fans, because he was one. Genuinely likeable bloke and a great performer. If you haven't read his book you should.

Surprised here's so few comments about it. A tough retirement to watch and take. I don't think Rees been anyone connect with an audience in the same way he did since the attitude era. Incredible wrestler

Just really sad. He clearly just adored doing what he did. But at least he pretty much achieved everything possible.

Weird Raw really, some of the things that happened were decent like the Ambrose/Brock interaction and the Dudley's seemingly turning heel.

Watching it though I just wanted to skip to the end to listen to Bryan, I'll certaintly miss him. Even though he has been out of action for a while it does seem weird to think he will never be in a ring wrestling again, I know it wasn't looking great for him but I for one always thought there would be a suprise return from him eventually.

Going back to Wrestlemania talk, read a report over the weekend they aren't going with Taker/Strowman due to fans backlash. Wyatt's/Brock seems to have cooled a bit (unless the predictable happens and they show up at Fastlane), after Raw Brock/Ambrose wouldn't be a bad match at Mania.

Average raw.

IC title match was decent, didn't expect Ambrose to lose.

What the hell happened at the end of the Henry/E match didn't even hit a move on him and he got the 3 count.

That ending though, wow, are we really meant to believe two OAP's and fucking Ryback are a serious threat to the Wyatts.

While I don't expect Brie/Charlotte to be any good Sunday least they built it up fairly decent on Raw.

Can't say I'm thrilled for FastLane.

Ambrose losing the title makes sunday more interesting at least. Still expect Reigns to win but maybe we could get Ambrose v Brock instead?

Yeah that's true it is slightly more interesting but sure it's still nailed on a Roman win.

Ambrose/Brock would be decent.

Read something other day they are still hopeful cena may make mania for him taker, surely not?!

Just reading a report that rumour has it Wade Barrett has handed his notice in and will not be renewing his contract when it finishes in June. Could explain why he literally does nothing these days unless the report is bollocks and he is injured still.

I think Henry got injured from a previous move and Big E did the right thing in pinning him straight away to get the medical team on him. Did look botched as fuck tho.

Three diva segments in one Raw, must be a new record?

But yeah it was a poor Raw.

Yeah it would appear Henry picked up an injury, right thing to do if injured but looked dodgy.

Very quiet on here lately, has everyone give up?

What we thinking for FL? Predictable Roman win or will they pull a shock? (Edit: I've posted in the PPV thread about FL).

Think Libertine makes a valid point that maybe Brock/Ambrose is on the cards for mania instead of Brock/Wyatt. I would like to see Ambrose win the triple threat but I highly doubt he will.

Latest update is that Undertaker is pencilled in to face a superstar not currently on the active roster at Mania, Sting & Goldberg are being mentioned.

Wouldn't be surprised if Vince has seen how depleted his potential roster is at the moment (that's half the problem for them at the minute) and is trying his hardest to pay Goldberg out of retirement, or try and persuade Sting to take a risk with his neck and get him in the ring. Alternatively, I've seen rumours of them rushing Cena through a super speed rehab on his injury and scraping him back at the last second - that's very risky for them to do as Cena pulls ratings (unfortunately) and they will need him in the summer.

I reckon Cena will be back. This VJM Legacy award on Monday could be him as the recipient then Taker comes out to start the feud.

Or perhaps Trips as the recipient to build the heat on him.

Very good Raw for once last night.

- Shane O'Mac returning.
- Vince dropping the F bomb live on TV.
- Ambrose/Lesnar face off.
- HHH beat down on Reigns at the end was something from a decade ago.

Seems they are turning it up a notch in the WM run.

Can't see Shane being a full time return. Looks to me like they're struggling massively to find anyone to face the Undertaker so Vince put a call into Shane and they concopted the control storyline. He'll disappear and so will the storyline after Wrestlemania I bet.

Still, quite hyped for that match. Assuming he's still got the athleticism, there could be a fair few bumps in Hell in the Cell. Shane has managed to have some very good matches in the past. He even managed to make a feud with Steve Blackman exciting.

A couple of those high-fall spots he did during the attitude era were absolutely insane.
