I don't think Reigns was quite as bad as he is being made out to be either, Cena was better but you'd expect that to be the way of it given the two wrestlers involved.

In Romans defense, about the only person who's ever been able to step up to Cena when it came to promo'ing against each other was The Rock. He was fine.

My issue here though is that I think that having these two face each other at No Mercy is genuinely one of the worst decisions I ever remember WWE making. About the only thing on a par in recent memory is where they had Rollins vs Ambrose vs Reigns at some other throwaway PPV.

Cena vs Reigns is THE match. Using a combination of two people out of every single person WWE could choose from, there is no match bigger they could do in this entire generation. Like, in all of history, there are only so many matches on a par with a Cena vs Reigns. It's Hulk Hogan vs The Rock level stuff. Two people who defined two generations going head to head. ANYTHING but the final match at Wrestlemania is, in my view, a fucking terrible decision.

Really, is this just me? Am I alone here? Maybe this is a controversial thing to say, as I know that people don't exactly like one/both of the people involved. But for me, Cena has been the top dude for 15 years or so, and it's pretty clear that Reigns is going to be the top guy for the next 15 or so. How is this happening at No Mercy and not closing a Wrestlemania?

Perhaps the counter argument is that people may feel that a Cena vs Reigns match would just be shat on by the fans. And yeah, it probably would... to start with. But something I always say about Roman Reigns is that the most common chant that tends to come out of crowds when he is around is "BOOOOOOOOOOOO!".... and then, in second place, is "this is awesome". Which ain't bad for a guy who "sucks". And Cena is in the same spot, these two get more "this is awesome" chants than anybody in WWE when having matches. I could see them winning people over purely based on performances.

I hope that was Big Show's last match on RAW. It would be nice for him to go out with a bang after a match like that considering the "please retire" chants he's been subjected to for the last few years.

It's being done at No Mercy because John Cena has a billion movie commitments in the near future which will take up all his time. Plus WWE Network sales probably need a boost.

I went to the show and Pete Dunne got an awesome pop

I haven't see the show back on TV but from being there in person, it was a relentless, long dull show. I don't remember being at a taping where the fans were so quiet.

- Angle and Miz got a great reaction.
- No one cares about Jason Jordan, and that match was awful. The WWE make fun of WCW for the "...on a pole" match yet do this anyway.
- Joe vs. Balor was a great match
- Strowman is over, Kane not so much.
- What are they even doing with the women's division on RAW?
- Enzo is terrible in the ring, Pete Dunne got an awesome pop
- Main event was sluggish until the ending.

What wasn't shown is the dark match, T-Bone, Sam Gradwell & Joseph Connors vs. Mustache Mountain & Mark Andrews.

I don't care what anyone says, the UK talent literally stole the show last night.

I went to that RAW show in Manchester as well, the first time I've been to a live show in a while. Agree that the crowd despite being 90-95% full was awful and even worse on TV as they edited out chants (who are ya to Elias) and muted the sound as they always do for the UK live tapings. I put it down to a couple of things, firstly the majority of people in the crowd were young kids with parents and not the type of fans who would create an atmosphere, these people have probably been priced out of going because an upper tier ticket was around £50 so god knows how much lower tier and floor tickets would have been. Also there was a lack of star names at the show with Cena, Lesnar, Triple H and Reigns all not bothering to travel. They were smart to give as much TV time as possible to Kurt Angle and the Miz but apart from those two and Kane making an appearance there was no real well known superstars on show that casual fans like myself would recognise immediately. Matt Hardy got a bigger pop in one of the dark matches than almost everyone else did in the main show bar Kurt Angle, Miz and Strowman.

In terms of the show itself some points below -

This was the first time I finally got to see Kurt Angle live, despite him not wrestling it was great to see one of my all time favourite superstars in the flesh. Ditto Matt Hardy and Kane. The Miz as always was brilliant on the mic. He's one of the only current wrestlers that could have hung in the attitude era.

Finn Balor and Samoa Joe was a really good watch and the main event picked up towards the final third of the match. These were probably the only two matches the fans seemed invested in along with Pete Dunne beating Enzo.

The women's division is in a pitiful state. No one got any sort of reaction apart from Bayley who got a nice pop. That unbeaten Japanese woman embarrassingly had to run back into the ring to do her celebration to camera again because no one reacted to her squashing some local girl. That was the unofficial bathroom break of the show. Like them or not, they desperately need the Bella Twins to bring back any sort of interest in the division within casual fans. Loads of kids there had Fearless Nikki shirts and caps. Along with John Cena and The Shield they were probably the top three most worn wrestling merchandise among fans from what I saw.

A three hour show is way too long. I get that they want to give as much TV time as possible to the superstars including the women and cruiserweights but it drags the show on far too long.

Don't whether I'll bother going again anytime soon. Probably more likely to attend a live event which seems more fun and atmospheric. If they ever bring a PPV back to the UK I'd go though.

From what I'd read, TNA have until mid-December to appeal Matt's trademark and if not then he owns it. Perhaps they're going with a slow burn thing and they'll see how it goes, perhaps calling him Woken if needs be. Exciting anyway. :bg:

They better not be teasing again.

TNA have relinquished the trademark! Not just to matt hardy, any gimmick that a wrestler uses in a TNA ring

I hope they let the Hardys run with it almost unrestricted in terms of creative control. The more the creative team or, God forbid, Vince get involved the bigger chance of this flopping becomes.

I hope that Maxel and Reby don't get involved, I'm looking forward to the rest.

It appears Enzo Amore has been accused of sexual assault and has been suspended by WWE until the matter is sorted. Could be the end of him no matter what the outcome.

It was OK, plenty of cheap nostalgic pops but nothing interesting in terms of Rumble/Mania build.

Yeh not quite as good as I hoped. Taker's appearance was pointless. The fans at the Manhattan Centre got screwed, hardly anything there.

Would people like to see Undertaker vs Cena?

I kind of wish it was 5 years ago. However, if they are going to do it, this is surely the final chance!

If it meant delaying a Royal Rumble win and then a championship win at WM for another year then I'd be all for it.
