We're finally getting the Miz that's been missing for the last 4 or 5 years. I actually think he's been brilliant for the last year or so, but that promo was him back to his best. Back when he main evented WM, I was one of those people who thought that, at the time, it was fully justified. He was the best heel in the company at the time and absolutely on fire. Then he tried turning face and that failed, and then he just kind of faded into irrelevance... hopefully this is the start of a comeback.

Miz for WM33 main event :tw:

Miz is one of the best talkers and heels in the company. Legitimately a heel that people don't want to cheer for which is rare these days.

Just read the results as going to struggle to watch it before weekend and seemed a good show.

Styles/Ambrose next week for the title!

Cena losing clean on Smackdown, blimey.

Should've left that match for a PPV though.

Good Smackdown this week, the main event and the Miz/Ziggler part were very good.

Another great Smackdown. Ambrose is really stepping up. All the titles matter and so do the challengers. Every feud has been built with care. Talking Smack was brilliant as always. After the awful debut episode they've continuously put on good to great episodes. The A show.

I agree the booking has been good. Just simple and effective. Don't know which I'd choose as the 'A' show, they're very different which I like, Smackdown does benefit from lower expectations and feeling 'smaller'.

Smackdown spends its time wisely, focusing on talking and storyline segments to build to payoff matches. For me, that's what TV shows should be about. Raw tends to use matches to build to bigger matches, and that doesn't capture my interest. Raw seems bland.

It would have been great a few years ago but it'd still be a big deal now, hopefully they give it a go.

Best superkick since the days of HBK.
If he doesn't get a contract then the world has gone mad.

Good God can't we give Ellsworth the title already? Think of all the money to be made!

The progression of stories is abundant on Smackdown and absent on Raw. Has Orton joined the Wyatts? Will Ambrose murder Ellsworth? How will the feud between Becky and Alexa explode next time? Who will be the number one contender for the WWE Title?

Ellsworth's last month has been more notable, entertaining and productive than Owens' Universal Title run.

at what point does Ellsworth become boring? Because we all know WWE will keep the joke running far too long.

I'm still finding it funny for the record.

Yeah, it's still working for now. I feel like the trio of Styles, Ambrose and Ellsworth all carry that angle very well and always make it entertaining. Plus JBL's commentary of Ellsworth is fucking gold every time.

I do think that we are living in strange times though... the most over thing on Smackdown is a skinny dude with no chin and the most over thing on Raw is a piece of paper  But hey, if it works, it works...

How fucking good is Smackdown now, btw? I actually think I'm enjoying that show as much as I've enjoyed wrestling since I've been rewatching back in 2009. It's just gold.

And a main reason for that is two people: AJ Styles and The Miz. Those two are killing it.

Loved the Styles/Cena contract signing though... brilliant work from both of them and I'm really excited for them to fight again after the amazing match they had at Summerslam. I'm doubtful that they can top it, but even it feels like such an important match now. Back when they last fought, Styles was great but he hadn't been a champion... now he's been the champ for a while. Plus there's the whole factor of Cena never having beat Styles. I still see Cena winning, but then again I'm sure I've said that every other time they've fought and it's still yet to happen...

Another good episode this week I thought, the opening match & main event I enjoyed.

Going forward think I will stick to reading Raw results and watch Smackdown as Raw bores me and is too long.

So did they balls that Randy turning on Wyatt up a bit? Bit anticlimactic I thought. They could've done that skit a few weeks later after he'd turned on him, everyone was waiting for the RKO outta nowhere.

I think they've done it this way to set up the Styles vs Shane feud that has been rumoured. Styles probably won't get his title shot now and he'll blame Shane for it.

I'd much prefer a triple threat for the title but I can't see it.

Poor AJ. Lovely guy. Best in-ring performer in WWE by a country mile. Absolutely stellar 2016. His reward? A WM title match? Nope. A big marquee match with someone like Cena or Taker?* Nah. He gets to carry the boss's idiot son, who probably sulkily demanded the match after his ridiculous Plan A (fighting Brock) got canned.

* From an in-ring performance POV, isn't AJ just the perfect guy to work with Taker?

Yeah, Styles vs Shane sounds bad for the most part. No real reason or history between them to lead to it, simply feels like them having run out of ideas. And AJ deserves much better. I don't know what alternatives there really are for him (though as you say Scumbag, Taker would probably be the best shout) but Shane... meh...

This being said...

AJ Styles is probably good enough to get a good match out of anybody. And if they make it a street fight or something... Shane vs a super talented wrestler in that situation, to me, evokes memories of Shane vs Angle at King of the Ring 2002. If they could get anywhere near that sort of standard, then yeah ok... fair enough, I'd take it.

With every episode of this I keep expecting them to pull out a "haha, only kidding with Jinder, now here's the real no 1 contender!"... and then the show ends and it doesn't happen. What's going on?
