My last match until Oxford away in mid November, looks like perfect weather for the A1 and Bootham Crescent's away terrace. There should be a good away following sampling the delights of decent ales and pleasant surroundings, with a fair number coming by train. We might manage 500.

Richard (60 next week) was waxing all lyrical and nostalgic in his latest interview. Despite our stuttering start, I'm still looking forward to a top 10 place as we approach Xmas and scope for him to build momentum from there. For that to happen, we need to get something tomorrow and all the form points to an away win as at least a fair possibility - but who knows with these lads?

Suspension and groin injury means that penalty saving wizard, Sam Beasant, will be in goal in place of Dunn. I see little reason to change the back 5 or starting midfield from Wycombe but he'll probably bring Ryan Donaldson in for Connor Newton and may even push Taylor in ahead of Omozusi at right wing back - adding further frustration to my unrequited dream of seeing him score. He passed 100 appearances last season and apparently got a league goal in our promotion season but I'm buggered if I can remember it.

I think that BBB Corr may well be fit and if so should probably start - if only to give Robbie Simpson a rest on the bench. My starting (and admittedly conservative) team would probably be: Beasant; Omozusi, Legge, Roberts, Taft, Demetriou; Newton, Hughes, Berry, Dunk; Corr.

I'm expecting: Beasant; Taylor, Legge, Roberts, Taft, Demetriou; Donaldson, Berry, Dunk; Chiedozie, Corr. 30 minutes and a goal from Gaffney would be a nice finish to a day that I'm already looking forward to.

First time we've been to York on a Saturday (or at least not a 7.45 kickoff) for a while so looking forward to a good pub crawl around the city, getting in nice and early for it. Not looking forward to the match, two piss poor teams, we should win, probably could do with a win with our next couple of home games being tricky, but will probably go and set up to try and come away with a point. 0-0 draw.

I'm back from having as many carafs of vino and gyros as possible and it doesn't sound like I've missed all that much on the football front, still(probably foolishly) I've decided to make the trip for this, not because I have much hope in getting a result but because I really have nothing better to do this wk end.

Not sure on the lineup but I think us u's know how we'll set up and try to bore everyone into submission.

Just intrigued to think what my fellow u's thought of dickies recent interview? I maybe in the minority but I found it pretty false and came across like he can't be arsed with it anymore and only does it because he has to rather than because he wants to.

452 u's to make the trip and witness a 2-1 defeat.

I'm not going as I'm off to Norwich v Leicester instead. I imagine we'll go to York with the sole aim of not losing and another goalless away trip seems on the cards. I predict 0-0.

Painting over the cracks is the first thing that comes to mind after watching that today, we are bloody awful, majorly underachieving with that budget and side, I think the players are trying but I see absolutely nothing tactically from money, it's just set piece after piece which is incredibly boring to watch.

Due respect but York are a very poor side, as are we but the major difference is that York haven't got the budget we have.


Thanks dickie but you've taken us as far you can, time to go for me(nice touch from the board to give him a 3yr contract in the summer) we never seem to learn.

Had a glimpse of the bucolic pleasures sacrificed as I left the village en route for York yesterday - circus set up on the Green, ploughing match just getting underway on the outskirts and Oakington Car Boot Sale buzzing. The York experience, football aside, was as good and welcoming as ever.......and then 45 dull minutes of Money smotherball against a shaky York team of nervous normal sized footballers.

The second half livened up but initially not in a good way. Coulson always looks a class above the rest and he delivered; Then a wandering centre half found space and a finish that BBB Corr would be proud of. 2 - 0 up, York panicked. Thankfully it was Donaldson that made way for Berry and the palest footballer ever, Gaffney, further built his reputation and confidence. They both must start as many matches as possible now and Newton offers much more that J Hughes or Ryan Donaldson.

We could have won it, possibly should, but a better tem would have exposed that passive midfield much sooner than a stumbling York could.

Disappointing performance but once again we saw that we have the players to do better. This is going to be a frustrating season.

We're all wondering the same to be honest. We're giving Money time to "get them to gel" but each game of shite that passes he loses a few more fans' support.

Personally I said at the start I'd give him til November before calling for his head (15 games is enough to judge) and I stand by that. But October needs to be a better month.

I think people have been a bit too quick to judge Money this season, after all we have been very unlucky with injury/illness which can't really be helped.
He could arguably have chosen better with the players available, but it's been a very difficult couple of months for everyone.

I was expecting Cambridge to be decent, but they were wretched. We were no more than adequate in the first half, excellent in the first 15 minutes of the second half when we scored twice and should have had one or two more, and then Wilcox made the substitutions that led to us sitting ridiculously deep and in the end it was only Flinders that prevented us from losing. Lots of very unhappy York fans at the end and Wilcox won't survive many more abject capitulations like that.

Same old turgid crap, and unsurprisingly actually look like a football team that resembles our massive budget when we take the game to teams, especially poor ones (which is about 75% of the league). York fan I know that we were with before the game just wouldn't accept how shit we were telling them we were with the squad we have, but that view had changed by about halfway through the first half. 5-4-1 away to a team well out of form? Just fuck off.

We will get fucking hammered on Saturday.
