Self-defence mechanism - if I can't spell the place, I can't find it and I'm never going to have to watch a football match there.

Got away with that in the 2nd half. If York were any good they'd of punished us for not having a shot at goal. After the York goal though we were excellent until HT and deserved the lead!

Quick question, Stags fans, purely for my research purposes: Now that you've seen them attempt to play, would you describe York as "cannon fodder" or not?

We have decent enough players, played is a stupid formation that doesn't suit them with a style which completely negates any sort of ability they have and we persist in playing players who aren't good enough for no real reason.

Under Wilcox we're definitely fodder.

I wouldn't call them "cannon fodder", it's very early days obviously and teams are still vying to find their feet, but York were certainly the poorest side I've seen in the first month of the season and need to be better than they were against us, where our defence never really looked like being breached once we got our noses in front.

This York side was a shadow of the one that battered us back at Field Mill in April. Maybe yesterday was a blip for them?

That said, that the performance against York was probably the worst i've seen since being back in the FL

Any team with V.Oliver up front will struggle to win games.

A good win but I thought we should have pushed on in the second half rather than sitting back. Luckily we didn't have too much pressure put on us. Oh and a great day out.
