Ebanks-Blake and Lee Hughes both play for my local club, Halesowen Town.

Yeah, a sad fall from grace for him. Another who never really recovered from injuries. He was unstoppable for a couple of years at this level.

Hasselbaink was class. Remember when Boro had Emerson, Ravanelli, and Juninho. People were all of a sudden tipping them for the league ha. The anticipation of seeing what Juninho was going to do when he got his first touch. Everyone expected him to get the ball, beat 5 players and score.

Barely anyone that played in the Premiership for us, as it was a pretty shit time. Basically got the team from our time in League 1 and back in the Championship. Loved those days. Didn't include any loans either. Can't really remember Trevor Sinclair though I do remember his bicycle kick.

Probably missed some obvious ones.

Never saw him play but he did make a short video for me to play for the wife in my grooms speech. Not sure if that should get him into my team but still pretty legendary.

Absolutely brilliant striker. Up there with the best at the time.

GK - Pickford, Nash, Johnstone
RB - Alexander, Mears
CB - Mawene, Davis, Lucketti, St Ledger
LB - Cunningham, Davidson
CM - Gregan, Pearson, McKenna, O'Neil
W - McGeady, Sedgwick, Wallace, Lewis
ST - Fuller, Nugent, Macken, Cresswell

Maguire excluded due to his injuries,
Ben Davies could potentially replace St Ledger in a couple of seasons,
Browne could slot in somewhere too but not sure who he replaces.
Love Ainsworth but he only played for us below this level.

Doing mine from 1996. Seems a bit silly to include players I might have seen but can't remember. No loanees.

GK: Tony Warner, David Forde, Willy Gueret.

DF: Darren Ward, Sean Dyche, Lucas Neill, James Meredith, Matt Lawrence, Shaun Hutchinson, Jake Cooper, Mahlon Romeo, Kevin Muscat.

MF: Steven Reid, Paul Ifill, Tim Cahill, Jed Wallace, Dennis Wise, Jimmy Abdou, Alex Rae

FW: Neil Harris, Steve Claridge, Richard Sadlier, Steve Morison

Team would probs look something like this

GK: Tony Warner

RB: Lucas Neill
CB: Shaun Hutchinson
CB: Sean Dyche
LB: James Meredith

RM: Paul Ifill
CM: Dennis Wise
AM: Tim Cahill
LM: Steven Reid

FW: Steve Claridge
FW: Richard Sadlier

Some tough choices in there - most come from our most recent years, partly because I'm 29, but also we've been a lot better of late than we had been before!

GKs:
Woijiech Szczesny
David Button
David Bentley

DFs:
Rico Henry
Jake Bidwell
James Tarkowski
Chris Mepham
Sam Sodje
Michael Turner
Maxime Colin
Moses Odubajo

MDs:
Alex Pritchard
Alan Judge
Adam Forshaw
Romaine Sawyers
Jay Tabb
Toumani Diagouraga

FWs:
Jota
Ollie Watkins
Andre Gray
DJ Campbell
Lasse Vibe
Neal Maupay

A few players narrowly miss out - lots of our current team (Dalsgaard, Canos), Ryan Woods, Scott Hogan, Andreas Bjelland, Andy Frampton, Shay Logan, Jonathan Douglas, Lloyd Owusu, Paul Smith. I'm sure I've forgotten a bunch of people as well.
No Andy Scott or Hermann Hreidarsson?

And who can forget the legend Lorenzo Pinamonte?

Dennis Wise on that list makes me twitchy.

No room for Claus Jensen?

He would probably go into my Charlton side, magnificent footballer, which would probably look like this:

Dean Kiely
Scott Carson
Stephen Henderson

Luke Young
Danny Mills
Richard Rufus
Eddie Youds
Jorge Costa
Steve Brown
Chris Powell

Lee Bowyer
Scott Parker
Claus Jensen
Mark Kinsella
Alex Song
Alexei Smertin
Graham Stuart
Jonjo Shelvey

Clive Mendonca
Andy Hunt
Darren Bent
Paolo Di-Canio
Bradley-Wright Phillips

I mean, who would other options be? Robbie Ryan? Anton Rogan? Shane Ferguson?

I personally (because I'm just that little bit older than Jockney) would slot Ben Thatcher in at left back.

Difficult choice, but if you look at the midfield I picked, he just would miss out

As Denzil said, James Meredith is the only genuinely good left-back we’ve had in that time.
