Most, but not aallWest Country accents sound very similar to me though. I only called it Wurzel as that's what we referred to Swindon as during the run up to the 11/12 JPT Final on our forum.

Going back to earlier in the thread, I've always know everyone in Bristol to call it Wembley singles/doubles. Also can't believe Tag is genuinely called Tig in other areas of the country! As for red arse or wall ball, that was always known as BUM where I'm from, ie you have 3 lives and if you lose a life you get a letter B, and so on... First one to spell out BUM gets the ball smashed at their bum; makes sense. In my road we used a blokes wall to play it; poor bastard had to have it rebuilt cause we knocked it down over time Didn't stop us kicking against his new wall mind

We played the same rules as you did for BUM, but called it SPOT. We had 4 lives up north, but I've always thought us Northerners are more cat like than you Southern Dogs, and us being closer to the Cat's 9 lives proves this correct.

The rules for red ass here was:

Some guy starts in net, he had to choose wides or catches. If he caught it, whoever kicked it last went in net. If he said wides, whoever kicked it wide/over went in net. When you get to 9, last goal had to be a header. Whoever is in net when the 10th goal gets scored gets the ball twatted at their ass by everyone playing. Scorer of the last goal goes last, assister of the last goal goes 2nd last. If you miss the person in net with your shot, you had to join them.

Can't agree with that LR. It needs the 'A' in the title to make it flow.

The Shrewsbury accent is a touch farmerish, a touch Welsh really. I get told i sound like a farmer, but I don't think I do.

But I say Graaas instead of Grass etc.

Typically, we say things like

Dunna (dont) as in, Dunna worry!
Canna (cant) as in I canna do it.
Wonna = Wont
