Just put my season long bet on.

Had latics to win the league with a handicap of -28 at 18/1.

Bookies reckon they were stealing my money but I don't think so. Generally the winners will get between 90 and 100. This division is quite strong this year so id imagine it will be towards the 90 Mark rather than the 100 with a lot of contenders taking points off each other. If it was 90 say, that would mean latics would only need to secure 63 points for me to win. Considering that we have been appalling the last 3 or 4 years and still get 54-55 points it would only take a small improvement over the course of the season to get the extra 9 points.

All ifs and buts obviously but that's what betting is about.

I work in a bookies so have been monitoring this league especially. Bury are around even money for a top half finish which seems great value to me. Think I'll throw them in a double with Man city to win the league.

Don't forget you have to take into account everyone else's handicap. Your bet isn't Oldham +28 versus the final league winner's total - it is versus everyone else's total points + their handicap too.

Yeah I get that, but the handicap is that generous in favour of us, that if we perform how I hope we can do, I really can't see anyone topping us. Tbf we need to perform this year and I believe we can but if we stick to the usual 17th I won't win my bet

There's a reason it's 18/1 pal. I love Sheridan but I think some of our fans are a little over optimistic. Regardless of his record he has a budget to work with. I reckon we will be lower mid table I'd be happy with that.

I'd be happy just to cement a mid table finish this season tbh. Talk of playoffs is a tad ambitious IMO.
