Wasn't there for an 8-0 stuffing at Orient, so I think this year's narrow 6-1 loss to Spurs is probably the biggest defeat, although it hurt far less than the 0-4 home defeat by Telford back in the bad old days.

Biggest win would be 7-2 at Stockport, which was surreal, with Ben Muirhead having an unexpected worldy on the Dale wing, and Wayne Hennessy having a severe case of dropsy in the County goal... )

Hadn't Wayne Hennessy just broken some kind of clean sheet record as well?

I remember watching us beat Southend 8-0 with my mate who was going away on holiday the next day and he was delighted that he didn't miss it.
The following week, when he was away, we beat Chesterfield 10-0.
He was gutted!!
Oh those were good days under Sir Keith Peacock.

Beat Huddersfield 7-1 in 98/99

Lost 7-0 at West Brom on the last day of 06/07 when they were already up and we were safe from relegation.

I think he did 10 successive clean sheets, which ended in the game before when he let in a howler at Barnet, who ended up getting 3. So 10 clean sheets followed by 10 in 2 games...

Incidentally, I'd forgotten a 7-0 home defeat by Shrews. Also a lunatic game, with the m-o-m being Shrews' goalie (silver haired bloke who looked like Father Ted) who was totally unbeatable in a game where both defences were AWOL...

In my lifetime, which is the same as my time supporting Scunny, although I didn't realise it until I started watching at 6 years old:

Biggest wins were away at Torquay and home to Luton, both 8-1 (League) and home to Boston Utd 9-0 (FA Cup).
I was away overseas for the Torquay game, but watched the massacre of Luton at home. Boston was before I started watching.

Biggest defeat was away at Carlisle 0-9 (League), before I was allowed to go to matches. Since I started watching, I think it is 1-7 versus Grimsby in Cleethorpes. A night game watching our rookie goalkeeper, Ray Clemence :ffs:

Defeat would be 1-6 at home to Leeds in terms of goals conceded but we have lost 5-0 on a couple of occasions.

Biggest win is probably beating Barnsley 6-0 at Oakwell a few years back, 2013 I think.

Dicked 7-1 by Man Utd and Arsenal away in our final few years in the Prem. Biggest defeat I've seen was 5-1 at home to West Ham in the FA Cup a couple of years ago.

Biggest win...I'm not sure what the biggest since 2001 is but I've seen us win 3-0, 4-1 and 5-2... :dk:

We beat West Ham 7-1 back in 2001. Quite a unique match as I believe all 8 goals were scored by different players. We also walloped Wolves 5-1 on the opening day of the 2003/2004 season with some absolutely cracking goals from Emerton and Thompson.

Going back further, I remember us bashing Norwich 7-1 in the early days of the Premier League, beating Forest 7-0 at Ewood and 5-1 at the Ciy Ground in 1995/1996 and a classic 7-2 between us and Sheffield Wednesday in 1997/1998. Great days.

Wasn't a great start to that season in 2003 for Wolves was it?

We beat them 4-0 the following week. Welcome to the Premier League lads.

Beating Oxford 7-0 at home in Division 1 in 1998. The away fixture was an extremely drab 0-0 and was the launch of Sky Sports pay per view and cost £7.95 to watch.

Biggest loss was 8-0 to Southampton in the Premier League. Made the long trip from the north-east to see what was an unforgettable Sunderland performance, we did after all score 3 own goals that day. I remember it being very warm at the top of the away end and Sunderland's flair Argentinian defender, Santiago Vergini smashing home a tremendous volley.

It was 7-1. My Dale supporting grandparents were on their annual Gran Canaria holiday and we had their dog. I remember walking him and had my walkman in listening to GMR following the Bury game. Every update seemed to be for a Shrewsbury goal. A Shrewsbury team that wasn't very good. Strange season for Dale that under Parkin. Started like a house on fire to the point one was thinking you'd definetly be replacing us in division two/league one. Then you went on a bizzare winless run culminating in that defeat. You then ended the season in excellent form and just missed out on the playoffs.

Just googled the game. Forgot about that spunktrumpet Luke Rodgers getting a hattrick and getting sent off for de-shirting

Scoring 3 own goals in 6 minutes was peak Sunderland. We got 19 points that season.

I also remember Charlton beating us at the SoL with 10 men on the opening day of the season, Darren Ambrose getting sent off at 1-1. We got 15 points that season!

Travelled up to that one on the opening day. Remember Darren Bent getting the ball at the end and just screaming at him to take it into the corner and he instead decided to just bang it into the bottom corner. Lovely.

Had some good meetings against Sunderland in the past. Remember Alex Rae scoring a thunderbolt at the Valley too.

Next season must be the first time we’ve met outside the PL since that play-off final?

I was at both the previously mentioned Gills wins. 8-1 v Southend and 10-0 v Chesterfield a week later. Very surreal. I think when we went 1-0 up v Chesterfield, some clown started singing "We want 9!". Oh how we laughed.

Only home game I missed in our 73/74 promotion season was a 7-2 win v Scunny. Little disappointed I missed that one. Did see a 6-1 win v Wimbledon a game in which a young Tony Cascarino scored his first senior goal.

Biggest defeat I've seen was probably the 2-5 v Brentford back in the day. We had beaten them 5-3 the previous season. They let us know we were paid back.

Worse was maybe a 1-4 home loss to Bury when we were challenging at the top. I think I've deleted any other big losses from my memory. There must have been plenty of others...

Boxing Day 1992? If so, I don't think you were up near the top that season.

Back when we had Boyd, Mackail Smith and Mclean up top, we were regularly hitting 5's and 6's.

Ones I actually went to:

Beat Accrington 8-2
Beat Ipswich 7-1
Beat Brentford 7-0
Beat Reading 6-0
Beat Carlisle 6-0 (and missed two penalties)

The one I didn't go to:

Beat Barnet 9-1 away in 1999.

And then games I've been to where we have been hammered:

Lost 6-0 away at Reading
Lost 5-0 at home to Rotherham back in the late 90's
Lost 5-1 to Leicester in the FA Cup this season
Lost 5-1 at home to Charlton

Losing 5-1 at home to Sandwell. :ffs:. Everything went wrong after that game. As well as during it, obviously. We were in free-fall for six months.

"Biggest" was winning 1-0 away at MK Dons. Difficult for non-Wolves to understand but at this game, we knew we were back. Before, during and after the match will live on for many of us.

I ve seen us lose 7-0 twice both away at Wrexham and both on the same year but two different seasons.

Think we beat either Hartlepool or Darlington 7-0 in the 80's but the memory's going.

I've seen us score 6 loads of times away at Millwall, Burnley,Doncaster and at home to Chelsea, Wolves, Hereford, Kings Lynn to name s few but like I said the memory's going.

Ah now that's a point. We also lost 7-1 to Birmingham in the same season. Well, now I can't wait for our trip to Winterfell or wherever you play

Think we beat Southampton 6-0 at Hillsborough maybe 10 years ago, biggest loss would be the 6-0 at Reading.

Lost 8-0 to Hartlepool (!!) in about 2003? Since the Conference relegation in 2010, we’ve only been dicked a couple of times, both 5-0 away losses to Braintree and Crewe. Lost 5-1 at home to Donny two seasons ago too.

Was 5 nil.

Leeds in 2014 was 6-0 though

Biggest win was 8-1 v Spora in the UEFA cup

The 8-0 at Newcastle was horrific, they were rebuilding St James so it was uncovered, and rained.

Fortunately didn't go to the Newcastle match, though I remember it well, I have seen us lose 7-1 at home to Forest (Colleymore and Roy tore us apart) and 7-1 away at Arsenal (we finished 3rd in the League that season and were genuinely looking like going onto win at 1 all with about 25 minutes left, before the Gunners turned on the style and everything they hit ended in the net).
Also watched Blackburn beat us 7-2 on Tv and know Boro also trounced us 8-0 in the 70s (their promotion and our relegation party I believe)

I remember us hammerring both Stockport and Aldershot? Away in the League cup in the 80s can't remember if it was seven or eight didn't go to either but recall one was the 2nd Leg and their manager was giving it the big one after a commendable nil nil draw at Hillsborough in the first leg.
I have seen us score 8 against Spora Luxembourg in the EUFA cup, 7 against Grimsby in the FA Cup and memorably twice score 6 against dirty Leeds. (Although watching them score 6 at Hillsborough in that same season that Arsenal trounced us and we finished 3rd wasn't so memorable).
Also recall us scoring 6 against Swansea in the 80s including a classic Toshack own goal.

Sure I have missed many others out but recall 2 weird years at Reading, losing the first 6 nil and going back the following year and improving massively to only lose 5 nil. ( Fortunately I did neither and infact have a 100% winning record on my travels to Reading)

I saw us beat Marine 11-2 in the FA Cup 1st round in 1995.

I can remember getting beat 0-6 a few times, at the Manor Ground in Oxford and at Boston United spring to mind, but not games that I actually saw in person.
