Basically an 11 made up of non-league and lower league punts who unsurprisingly turned out to be unbelievably gash.

Gavin Ward - The Trevor Benjamin of goalkeepers, his only attribute was shouting.

Neal Trotman -
Cost us £500k from Oldham, he was diabolical
Luke Foster - Signed on a free after being unable to find a club following his release from Matlock Town
Aaron Brown - Signed on a free after his release from Aldershot, played up front on his own away at Sheff Wednesday

David Amoo - He was signed from Liverpool but there is no way he is avoiding this team, disgusting footballer
Andy Procter - A talentless trier who we actually paid money to Accrington for.
Kevin Nicholls - We paid about £750k for him from Leeds, I honestly think we signed his disabled brother
John Mousinho - The worst player i've seen turn out for Preston North End, signed from Stevenage

Andy Smith - Cost £150k from Glentoran, his best moment was an overhead kick in a friendly against Bamber Bridge
Lee Trundle - Signed on a free from Neath, played 1 game, he was just an injury-ridden mess.
Anthony Elding - Signed on loan from Grimsby 2 years ago, played 5 games, I don't remember him whatsoever

2 Craig Brown signings, 1 Alan Irvine signing, 1 Paul Simpson signing & 7 Graham Westley signings.

It's testament to this team's shitness that Craig Morgan and Clarke Carlisle haven't made the cut.

Chris Dunn - GK who was signed for compensation from Northampton and was the worse keeper I'd ever seen
Chris Hussey - LB signed from Wimbledon when they were non league, never made the step up
Colin Hawkins - CB signed from Shelbourne who was awful
Kevin Malaga - CB signed from overseas, he was 25 and barely had a professional appearance to his name. Played one or two games and was never seen again.
Can't really think of a RB, maybe David Mcnamee who was signed from Livingtson, not an awful player but had chronic injury problems

Gary Deegan - Irish midfielder signed from Bohemians, nicknamed the pitbull but was a pussycat
Adam Barton - Signed from PNE, just a bit crap really
Steven Jennings - Had a decent career at Tranmere before he joined us but truly one of the most limited footballers I have ever seen

Roy O'Donovan - Irish striker who was bizarrely signed from Sunderland, isn't even conference standard
Mathieu Manset - French striker, is a lower league journeyman at the age of 25. Released after 6 months
Denzel Slager - Dutch striker who was signed from overseas, left after about 2 months and a few sub appearances claiming home sickness

4 Andy Thorn signings, 2 Steven Pressley, 1 Boothroyd and the rest were before him so would be Coleman/Dowie.

Credible mentions also for:
Andreas Arestidou - My ex girlfriends cousin, he automatically makes the list, he's a right prick off the field as well.
Steven Smith - All I remember is him being shit, and ginger.
Chris Beardsley - Complete gash.
Simon Lynch - As bad as Smith, if not worse.
Keammar Daley - Never seen a player hyped up as much as this fella, made about eight, ten minute, cameo appearances.
Nbundu Nsungu - Billy signed him, sure this is his name. Was offside about 20 times a game. I do honestly think he was booked once he was offside that much.
Pavl Pergyl - No idea where we signed him, or why. All I remember is he put in one of the worst defensive displays I have ever witnessed away at Leeds.

Preston only signed Amoo because he had his 2 only good games against you for Bury in the 2011/12 season, he's shite and now playing for conference bound Carlisle

I remember Nsungu setting up a goal with a really good cross once, that's it.

The decision to play Pergyl at right back at Elland Road was unbelievable (Well Done Paul (Twatting, Lasher Bastard) Simpson), the bloke was a central midfielder and a seriously bad one at that.....I think we signed him from Sparta fucking Prague!

Keammar nearly made my list but he scored that good goal at Charlton.

Marlon Broomes is another useless c***, Wigan away.....

Worrying that he's played over 20 games for you this season...

His broken leg ended any hope of him having a decent career imo, he was already a pussy prior to that.

He's actually improved a lot this season since he first arrived, still crap though. Contract is up at the end of the season and won't be renewed.

Probably a bit harsh to include him in my team, I'd imagine we've had worse but can't think of any right now.

Simon Whaley - 500k from Bury. At one point had the world at his feet here, linked with Premier League clubs left, right and centre. Broke his big toe on a coffee table and was never the same. Sure he was released by Chorley not so long ago.
Apparently had major gambling problems. I know his Mrs was a worldie though.

Shwan Jalal - I don't know where the fuck we found him but he was shit.

Ben Futcher - Signed from Lincoln. Horse shit and nothing but. One of big Keef's awful signings.
Exodus Geohaghan - He has a long throw. That's literally all he's good for. Worst player I've ever seen. Signed from Kettering.
Ricardo Santos - I don't care about his last four games (minus Sheffield away where he fucked up) he is absolute crap. Signed from Thurrock.

Jimmy Gnachiem - Signed from a pub team and was very much a pub player. Don't even think he plays anymore.
Dominic Green - Signed from Dagenham for £150k. They mugged us off there. Utter crap.
Danny Swanson - Signed from Dundee. Shouldn't have bothered. Useless, good for nothing waste of a wage.
Sergio Torres - Signed from Wycombe and always did well against us. Was nothing but shit for us.

Scott Rendell - Came with a high reputation from Cambridge. Left as a useless lump.
Rene Howe - Fat, overweight lump signed from Kettering. Shite.
Tyrone Barnett - He's very fortunate that Exodus Geohaghan exists cause otherwise he would be the worst footballer I've ever seen. We actually paid £1.1m for him. He genuinely did fuck all. Unbelievable.

I was told he did it kicking a roulette table in a casino in Bolton but the club said a table fell on his toe....

Absolutely massive waste, the guy was class in his first couple of seasons.

Loved Trundle when he was here, his feet were incredibly quick, and I'll always remember that goal he scored against Palace in the play-offs.

One moment that sticks in my mind was reading the Swansea fans forum after he'd been sold to us, and the bloke stated that he had been up all night sobbing and tearing up about Trundle leaving Swansea..

Legend

You could basically do this based on our team that stayed up against Bury on the final day in League Two under Thordarson and where they ended up:

GK) Kevin Pilkington - Was decent to be fair, now our goalkeeping coach/stand in super goalie.
RB) David Pipe - Was really good for us actually. Now at Forest Green via Newport and prison.
CB) Mike Edwards - Now fitness coach/stand in defensive disaster zone.
CB) Julien Baudet - Went moonlighting with the Colorado Rapids.
LB) Rob Ullathorne - Retired. It was for the best.
RM) Nathan Doyle - Forgot we even had him, but done alright for himself.
CM) Liam Needham - Last seen at Matlock Town in 2013 via Gainsborough Trinity, Halifax and Guiseley.
CM) Dan Martin - Last seen at Coalville Town in 2012 after four glorious years with Mickleover Sports. Got very fat.
LM) Chris Palmer - Last seen at Tamworth in 2014 after spells with Waitakere United, Ilkeston, Oxford City and Rainworth Miners Welfare.
SC) Eugene Dadi - Retired via Hapoel Acre, Perth Glory, FC Vaduz, Persibo Bojonegoro and Manado United. Was terrible.
SC) Steve Scoffham - Last season banging in the goals for Attenborough Town in 2009.

SUB) Shaun Marshall - Been at Dereham Town for eight years.
SUB) Brian O'Callaghan - Last spotted with Limerick FC in 2013.
SUB) Stef Frost - According to his Wikipedia page, recently signed a one year deal with six-a-side team Obi One Kenobi Nil.
SUB) Lewis McMahon - Plays for a thing called North Ferriby United.
SUB) Daniel Chillingworth - Last seen scoring one in three for St Neots Town in 2010.

Someone kill me.

Not that I can remember.
I remember he came out in a 1v1 situation, and was completely took out. He smashed his nose rather than a serious injury though, as far as I remember anyway.

He was never any good though.

Nah, not having that.

Whaley was very good, and competing at the very top end of the Championship, before the demons got hold of him.

Shumilakoski or whatever he was called....now there's a fucking duffer.

Last seen by me a few weeks ago looking rather rotund. He'd have 100% made it as a Pro if he hadn't broke his leg, then reinjured it on his sister's trampoline, then reinjured it playing 5-a-side when he hadn't even been cleared for training.

Genuinely a ridiculously talented individual though. Young, leapt like a salmon, probably the fastest white bloke I've seen on a football pitch and had two good feet. I knew him from when he played Sunday mornings on Alderman White's pitches for Sandiacre, good bloke, ginormous Wolves fan too.

Disappointed you left out Sean Canham. According to Wiki, he's playing for Australian club Sorrento and boasts quite the scoring record.

Dunno how much truth was in it but there was a big rumour that Alan Irvine decided against paying £500k for Charlie Adam and spent £400k on Shumilikoski instead...

I'm sure Shumliokoski cost us 750k? I may be wrong mind. Ipswich must have been laughing. The Macedonian Steven Gerrard.
Hardly bought from the lower leagues, but Ian Ashbee deserves a mention. It makes me sick thinking he was earning around 10k a week. (Depending who you listen too)

This will be heresy to some Gills fans on here, but he was (is) shite. I saw one of his two league appearances for us as we lost 3-1 on the final game of the season at Burton, he was at least partially culpable for all three.

LB - Brian Statham
Signed from Brentford by Tony Pulis and got sent off at least twice during his 20 games with us, possibly three times. Fairly certain he notched an own goal too.

RB - Neil Masters
Did he actually exist? Managed less than a dozen games in 3 years at the club, perennially injured.

CB - Josh Gowling
Big hair, capable of horrendous lapses of concentration. Bombed out to Lincoln.

CB - Gary Breen
Quite how he carved out an international career is a mystery, part of one the worst Gills teams ever, few Gills fans will ever forget his Bambi-on-ice style or the stunning OG away at Barnet.

MF - Steve Lomas
Waaaaaaaay past it. Had a ridiculously good game in a friendly against Colchester and was then so shit, he did the honourable thing and retired.

MF - Stuart Thurgood
One of a plethora of Mark Stimson non-league signings who should have stayed there. Most notable for a poo-related changing room incident.

MF - Amine Linganzi
Bit harsh maybe, he's only just been released and suffered some bad injuries, but he was signed on the strength of one decent performance and looked way off the pace in at least 18 of his 20 appearances.

ST - Christian Lee
Hands down the most ineffectual striker I have ever seen. Was meant to be Northampton's first million pound player, we got him for 35 grand which was about 34.5 grand too much. Ambled about, constantly pushed off the ball and binned off inside 10 games.

ST - Georges Ba
Signed from Maccabi Netanya in Israel, bumbled around for four games and then pissed off back to Maccabi Netanya.

ST - Mark McCammon
Our summer marquee signing back in 2008. Lazy, slow, couldn't finish, couldn't jump, couldn't head the ball despite being 6'5". Hung around like a shit stain on the back of the bog and then sued us on race grounds.

Honourable mentions for Charlie Mitten, Tom Williams, Barry Miller, Gary Shields, James Pinnock, Eliot Martin, Andy Arnott, Paul Hague and Delroy Facey.

Came to us on loan from Blackburn when we where in the Championship. Looked a class act for 45 minutes then got injured. Some fans wanted us to sign him purely because of this excellent 45 minute cameo. Seems injuries may have got the best of him.

I think that's harsh on Gowling, but can't really argue with the others. Possibly would find a space for either Bruce Inkango or Stanley Aborah though. Paul Shields was actually a decent striker, but a lot of fans remember him badly because he had a similar Gills tenure to Steve Hislop, who was in fact shite.

For Crewe:

GK: Rhys Taylor - 'Flapper' as I called him was a diabolical keeper and acted like he made the big-time being a Chelsea Youth GK. Now plying his trade at Macclesfield Town after a series of keeping mistakes eventually cost us a concrete playoff place.

RB: Darren Moss - We paid £170K to Shrewsbury for this utter waste of space. A shocking player who wasn't fit for purpose in the Championship or League One, ended up playing for Nantwich Town where he couldn't hold a regular place and Bangor City.

CB: Danny O'Donnell - O'Donkey, signed from Liverpool for a fee of up to £300K, was a key part of the squad that ended up going from mid-table League One to lower half of League Two thanks to his ineptitude, released, ended up at Shrewsbury then Stockport where he couldn't even make their team in the Conference North. Now living in Australia.

CB: Thierry Audel - Signed from Macclesfield for a nominal fee. Barely played but was shit. Loaned to Lincoln. Given a second chance this season. Barely played but was shit. Loaned to Lincoln. Lincoln sent him back. Released. Went back to Macclesfield.

LB: Anthony Tonkin - We paid £150K to Stockport for the LB version of Darren Moss. Eventually ended up at Yeovil, Oxford and in the non league with Aldershot.

RM: Joel Grant - Wasn't too bad but we did pay £130K to Aldershot for him and he definitely wasn't worth the fee. Very lazy footballer who had bags of talent but didn't know how to apply it with us.

CM: Antoni Sarcevic - Signed from Woodley Sports for a small fee. Had a horrendous attitude problem. He was overweight, unfit and didn't like running. Did have potential but tended to miss sitters when he was included in the side. Sold to Chester after a training ground bust-up with Davis and Baker and he's now at Fleetwood and I saw the gobshite was sent off again against Chesterfield for mouthing off.

CM: Jamie Moralee - Signed from a Watford side who were relegated to League One, the former £450K player failed to score a single goal for us and was gash and very weak. Now Rio Ferdinand's agent.

LM: Lee Molyneux - Contentious one, signed from Accrington with a bit of fanfare given his knack for scoring goals. In his defence he was a LB but Davis tried to convert him into some lower league Gareth Bale when he lacked pace. Molyneux and the Dull one didn't see eye to eye and he was a disruptive influence in the dressing room. Currently preparing for a Conference tour with Micky Adams and Tranmere.

ST: Anthony Elding - £200K for a work-shy, talentless, idle bugger. Possibly one of the worst players I've ever seen play for us. Three year contract was cancelled after about 15 months.

ST: Pavol Suhaj - Signed from AS Trencin in Slovakia, was pitiful, the lowlight being a lone striker in a 6-1 crushing against Cardiff. Released and subsequently couldn't make the Nantwich Town team in the Northern Premier League. Bit of a cult hero unlike the rest.

Subs:

GK: Bartek Fogler - Don't know who we even signed him from but he never played a game, just a few appearances on the bench. Often seen in Bar Seven down Nanny Road the night before a game.

SUB: Mike West - £30-£35K signing from Ebbsfleet, seemed to be okay but wasn't worth the money due to constantly being in our treatment room. Looked very weak.

SUB: Steven Schumacher - Signed from Bradford on a free but was on a decent wage. Was absolutely crocked for two years and never looked like the player he became at Bury. Personally thought he was a poor signing but I know some fans will disagree with me on this one. Now at Fleetwood with gobshite.

SUB: Rob Wakenshaw - The original Crewe flop, signed from Rochdale with previous experience from Everton back when they won the title with one of the best squads in the history of football. 1 goal in 22 games later he was shown the door.

SUB: Calvin Zola - Tranmere must've pissed themselves that they got £200K for this talent deprived lump. Useless footballer now residing in the Stevenage treatment room.

SUB: Juan Ugarte - Signed on a free from Wrexham where he achieved infamy for scoring 5 in a game vs Hartlepool. Was a crock for us though and retired through injury.

SUB: Lee Matthews - Pathetic crocked forward signed on a free from Port Vale. He failed to score for us and was duly released.

Honourable Mentions to Andy White, Vadaine Oliver, Scott Shearer, Wayne Collins (second spell) and Bradden Inman (permanent spell)
