1. No, and about 30 years ago
2. All pub level stuff.
3. The rec at the back of the pub as the publican had a small beer tent set up for half & full time.

Only played for my High School (every year from 1st - 5th). I've previously mentioned my tussle with Alan Hansen. Best place I've played ? Got to be the school's pitch for the seniors for the pitch surface. However I played at to League teams grounds...1) Brockville....Falkirk's old ground before it was turned into a Morrisons. And 2) Ochilview.....Stenhousemuir's ground. Very proud of these facts.

I played up until this summer. A year previously, I tore my medial ligament in my left knee 10 minutes into our first pre-season game and was out for 9 months. Missed the whole of the season, played a couple of games in this years pre-season and just didn't feel physically up to it anymore so I've more or less retired from it. Still got time to go back and play again if I choose (I'm only 27), but it'd take a lot of fitness work and rehab and I'm not sure it's worth it considering it's only sunday league level. I've played on/off for the last 15 years or so at various levels, and only ever won 1 trophy in that time, so it's been mostly disappointment!

Best place I played was actually at Boreham Woods ground, playing for a Gills supporters team against Coventry. It's not a GREAT ground by any means, but it's still my pinnacle.

Only really played youth football and the only two proper grounds I ever played at were Thurrock and Aveley, one under the lights and one on a Sunday afternoon.

Aside from that we played away at a team called LOASS a few times who were affiliated to Orient I believe - they always had a cracking pitch.

Played a double over Hackney Marshes once and came back looking like I'd gone for a dive in a pool of mud. Great memories.

Played for Lincoln's centre of excellence from the age of 10 to 15, where I played alongside Sam Clucas for a year or two who is now at Hull. Went back to the local league for a couple of seasons afterwards and found it a lot more enjoyable, even if the standard was pretty poor.

I've never played competitive football but turned out for Askam RLFC U19s for a couple of seasons and had a few games with their open age side.

We got to finals at Craven Park both years.

I turned out in an old kit provided by Wigan RLFC when we were getting an RL club off the ground at Reading University in the 70s (my uncle also used to play in the Cherry & White Hoops).

I stopped playing at 39
I played a mixture of Saturday and Sunday league in Spalding (85-88) and Camborne and Truro in the 90s.
The best places I have played at were Spalding United, Paulton Rovers and Truro City

i played up until i realised what a fanny was, and have to say i prefer banging them in there than any football pitch........i did play until around 30 and was quite good imo, got banned for 49 days once as a 14 year old for calling opposing manager a fascist, i actually called him a fat bastard but i had a strong accent back then.......was captain of school team but the teacher didnt like our year as we were a bit rowdy and gobby so we used to get banned from tourno's before we even entered...........loved the old 5 aside tournos around Merseyside and north west.......was like the world cup and we won loads of them......after i left school wasn't really interested because you were playing people quite obviously high on beak and it was like playing against 17 men.

Played every Sunday since I was 7 (currently 25) playing and managing now.

Played for a fair few teams over the years, had a year at Wednesday as 9 year old but left after a year as I wasn't playing every week and at that age it's all I wanted to do. Stayed in Sunday league ever since. Played at a few different grounds over the years though and been a lifelong Wednesdayite I'll always say hillsborough was the best. Bramall lane was decent although we drew the away dressing room and it's was pants in comparison to the home one. Millmoor when it was still used although it was only small schools competition game, remember been booed by the home crowd because we played in blue and white. The keepmoat and New York stadium were quite similar but my best day playing to date would have been the cup final at New York stadium, was my first season managing as well as playing, I scored on the day and we won it in the 120th minute which was brilliant.

Played for my school every year and played twice at Field Mill so I'll give that the best ground I've ever played at. Only play Sunday league and lots of 6 a side now, From 19-22 we were in the premier division here (There's 5 leagues) and unsurprisingly its quite competitive to the point people don't stop out if they lose a game. Like Johnny says, Part of the reason for playing is too stop out on the booze all afternoon on a Sunday. I'm now in Division 2 (3rd tier) and it's much more enjoyable. Got 11 goals in 10 games this season so I'm expecting to be scouted soon..

Played for schools and various other local youth clubs before graduating to the rather brutal local 5 a side scene as an adult. Haven't played much at all for a few years now as 5 a side just stopped being fun.

Through my earlier teens I had a size / height / speed advantage over similarly aged lads, but that advantage disappeared when we all hit 15/16 and it turned out I just wasn't very good  Through all my life I played mostly as a midfielder replying on running and enthusiasm to do a job, rather than any particular ability.

Highlights of my 'career' include my own take of 'Gascoigne v Scotland', as well as playing as the 'home side' at Dean Court once, which was pretty cool. Used the changing rooms and everything.

We play Monday and Wednesday nights in a 6 a side league and each has about 20-22 teams in it. Some of the sides are right bellends, 2 people had a punch up because we were beating them last Wednesday. It was hilarious viewing. Also insane Mansfield fan on YouTube is our Monday night keeper, he's just as barmy.

i stopped playing 5/6 aside for this reason, too many nobheads that don't like getting beat so all they do is start fights. I remember us been involved in a game that was abandoned after 9 minutes, that was after the 3rd fight of the game, they were f**kin idiots

Play a six a side league each sunday. Yet to win a game in about 10 games. Worst loss was 20-0. To be fair, I'm not that bad but we've got a few guys in our team who can barely kick a ball which kinda ruins it.

I'm top scorer tho. Prolific goal scoring midfielder.

Yeah, in our 5-a-side (6-a-side maybe) we once stayed behind for like an hour and a half after this group of guys told us they were going to shank us. They were waiting for us after. They were all about 6'2 and looked like they lived at the gym.

Also once had two kids try to mug us walking from the bus stop to Fairlop power league. I say kids, they were literally 10 or so and trying to jump up to nick mine and my mates phone out of our breast pockets. One of the funniest and weirdest things I've seen.

Do you still play/when did you retire?
Thinking about walking football now as I'm a one knee fucking old twat

How many teams have you played for? (at any level)
School, Chippenham Boys (no soapy wipe downs there), various RAF stations

Where is the best place you have played?
South Yemen was a hoot. Hot, sand getting in all your important places, wary of snipers!

Do you still play/when did you retire?
The game sadly lost me around 2006.
How many teams have you played for?
School teams and some county football from years 5 to 11. Willington Quay and Howdon Boys, Whitley Bay from junior/academy up to first team level. Probably should have stuck around given their F.A Vase successes.
Where is the best place you have played?
Various semi-pro pitches.

A few lads made it in some capacity from my school/nearby schools. Steven Taylor, Lee Novak and Ben Pringle some of them who've done well for themselves and are still active.

Do you still play/when did you retire?

Stopped playing at 23 (early 1997). Was scouted by Wolves and York City (Graham Taylor and Alan Little were the respective manager's at the time) circa 94/95 but I had my own business and I liked partying way too much to take it seriously. Drinking beer as a half time refreshment was not healthy.

How many teams have you played for? (at any level)

Largely amateur 11,7 and 5 a side. A lot of charity games with some pro's/youth/development players.

Where is the best place you have played?

Deepdale, Burnden Park, Boundary Park, Crown Ground (I think it's called the WHAM stadium now) All charity or hired out.
