Looks good enough for a top 7 position to me. A load of proven, solid Conference level players in there.

I'd be looking to play Kelly as far up the pitch as possible behind Boden. In Wedgbury and Hurst we've hopefully got the midfield battlers who will cover the ground in order to let Kelly play.

I reckon 7/8 of them will be in the starting XI at Wrexham in a month, with Richards and Thompson most likely to lose their places.

I have absolutely no idea.

Maybe something along the lines of

GK: James Montgomery
LB: Scott Barrow/ Jamal Fyfield
CB: Neil Byrne/ Fraser Horsfall
CB: Danny Burns/ James Bolton
RB: James Bolton/ Neil Byrne
CM: Robbie Tinkler/Kieran Green/JJ O'Donnell/ Wes York/Luke Hannant
CM: Paddy McLaughlin
CM: Russell Penn
LW/RW: JJ/York/ Richard Peniket/Luke Hannant/Jordan Preston/ Macauley Langstaff/ Danny Johnson
ST: Peniket/Burrow/Johnson/Langstaff

Which leaves
Dan Hanford
Jon Mellish
Tom White
Nyall Bell (On loan at Chester)

If you can't tell I have no idea what the team is going to be next year, a lot of young unknown players in there for me. With an average squad age of 23 i can't see us pushing too high up the table this year to be honest

Halifax will probably line up something like this

GK- Sam Johnson
RB- Kevin Roberts
CB- Matty Brown
CB- Scott Garner
CB- Martin Riley
LB- Josh Wilde
CM- David Lynch
CM- Connor Oliver
RW- Matty Kosylo
LW- Scott McManus
ST- Adam Morgan

Subs from Josh MacDonald, Cliff Moyo, Nathan Hotte, Bohan Dixon, Tom Denton and hopefully 2 or 3 new signings

Dixon (not been offered a contract yet)

RB (TBA)
Diarra
Dan Jones
LB (Anderton is off, so TBA)

Harvey
Gomis
Hall

Harrison
Bennett
Bauress

So a few gaps, and I might be wrong with the formation as 4-4-2 and 5-3-2 have also been used regularly too.

Subs:
White (Fwd)
Hughes (mid)
Panayiatou (Fwd)

To update this, we now have an XI:

Stuart Moore

Thierry Audel
Jimmy Dunne
Moussa Diarra
Dan Jones

David Fitzpatrick
Bedsente Gomis
Asa Hall
Alex Ray Harvey
Brad Bauress

Richie Bennett

Subs:
Byron Harrison (injured)
Jordan White
Harry Panayiotou
Liam Hughes
Dan Cockerline (injured)

Andy Parry*
Joel Dixon*
*Not contracted and both injured.

So realistically we're still 5/6 players short, with three defenders, a midfielder and a winger needed.

Starting to come together a little bit...

GK Sam Sargeant (yoof)
DR Jake Caprice
DL Joe Widdowson
DC Michael Clark (yoof)
DC George Elokobi
MR Alex Lawless
ML Josh Koroma (yoof)
MC Steven Alzate (yoof)
MC Charlie Lee
FC David Mooney
FC Macaulay Bonne

Subs from
GK Charlie Grainger (yoof)
DR Myles Judd (yoof)
DL Christian Scales
DC Aron Pollock (yoof)
DC Dan Happe (yoof)
MC Henry Ochieng (yoof)
MC Charley Barker (yoof)
ML Rian MacLean (yoof)
FC Sam Dalby (yoof)
FC Tristram Abrahams (yoof)

Of the kids, the Alzate, Koroma, Clark, Judd and Abrahams are all probably ready to start games semi-regularly at this level. Mildly worried about the keeper situation.

Koroma and Alzate yeah, Clark meh, Judd needs to sort his stamina out before he's starting but is probs good enough really, Abrahams I think I've seen once so will default to you on that. Keeper situation won't be changing until an emergency loan in October I reckon. Lawless was also probably signed as a cm I reckon so bring in a starting winger.

For the record with what we have, I'd go:

----------------------Mooney
------------Bonne - Alzate - Koroma
------------------Lee - Lawless
Widdowson - Elokobi - Clark - Caprice
-------------------------Whoever

I quite like the idea of a Lee-Lawless-Alzate triangle.

Parkin and Almond will run riot in that league. Such a strong division now though NLN nothing's certain but that's a very strong side!

Just out of interest what's parkin's fitness like (I don't just mean weight)? Can he play every min of every game or is it more of an approach that you saw taken with Rhead at Lincoln last season where he is given time to recover? He'd be hard to replace if he's not in the team for whatever reason.

I think he's trusted to do whatever level of training he feels is right, the main thing obviously being he's good to go on matchdays.
I'd have to look through our match reports, but he played plenty of full 90 mins if I recall. Certainly the last 5 games of the season which is all I can be bothered to check...

Parkin only missed a couple games and that was only down to 3G pitch (Harlow & Sutton) and a 1 game suspension since arriving end November,he played at least 80 mins in rest.
Talked to a few players, all Said him & Mills are main reason why they all resigned.

Parkin missed 3 games since joining end of November only,1 down to suspension and other 2 due to 3G pitches so rules Harrogate out this season.
Rest of games did at least 80 mins and most full game.

Rhead wasn't under any special training routine. He trained as much as anyone else.

Tranmere, Dagenham and Wrexham looking strong.

My money went on the latter two. Tranmere's odds were too short to put anything on.

As an update on ours, the keeper and defence are pretty much as I'd expect us to line up against Dover

Scott Loach

Carl Magnay
Louis Laing
Scott Harrison
Blair Adams

The midfield is anyone's guess. The following are all in with a massive shout of a first XI place:

Nicky Featherstone
Jack Munns
Nicky Deverdics
Michael Woods
Luke George
Liam Donnelly
Ryan Donaldson
Connor Newton
Lewis Hawkins

Up top i'd like to see

Padraig Amond
Devante Rodney

But we'll get:

Padraig Amond
Jake Cassidy.

So keeper/defence and strikers are sorted but the midfield, I actually haven't got a clue who I'd start except for Munns and Donaldson, the others might as well be in a raffle.

Parkin played 120 mins at Lincoln in the Trophy and played the vast majority of the game the following Tuesday night. I think his fitness levels are fine, and his game isn't based around physical fitness anyway.

In my opinion, based on Saturday there's no way Richards should start over Burgess, though they're different styles I'd have Burgess alongside a defensively orientated Hancox in CM.

Burgess was our best player on Saturday, and on the basis of that, should start. However, I thought Richards played well, and broke up the play more effectively than anyone did last season, and therefore I'd put Hancox on the bench and play Richards and Burgess.
