It's poor. I don't like this switching between random games in league one and the championship. Also don't like the crowd idea. If you're going to ask them questions have a fucking microphone to hand.

The sooner sky take this show over the better. Love Sky or hate them there is one thing, they know how to do sport.

Waiting for the Mrs to finish watching whatever shit she's got on so I can watch it, but all opinions seen from forums and mates indicates that it's a bag of wank. I hope to be proved wrong, but I suspect it will be a bag of wank.

Showed them at the end of watching a load of crap fourth division football. Bizarre. Oh and what's with those 1970 style league tables?

That Adam Virgo (just why?) saying "as you said" all the time despite no one else actually saying anything.....

And just show the leagues in fucking order.

Poor. Not structure, awkward presenting. It was like they were trying too hard.

Some of the worst patter I've witnessed on TV since Philippa Forrester's attempts with the garden shed engineers on Robot Wars. People will talk about the Football League Tonight audience in 30 years like they talk about Bullseye contestants today. I think they're trying to do that Chris Evans '90s thing. The lack of rhyme and reason to the fixture schedule is merciless too. The highlights packages seem basically the same mind.

Graphics look pretty cheap but I'm really not too arsed.

Best bit so far is the theme tune which sounds so incoherent in the segments that are played either side of the breaks that it reminds me of Melt-Banana.

Bury's game looked like one of the most entertaining in years too. Wish I'd stopped there on the A1 instead of ruddy Boreham Wood!

It's not difficult though, is it? Either shorten it down and scrub the pointless bollocks or pad out the highlights more. It was absolutely diabolical.

Regarding the show...

Probably the shittest thing I've ever seen attempted on TV. I genuinely think someone behind the scenes might be taking the piss.

The highlight of the whole 1hr 20mins, was the advert for a programme about a young lad with massive fuck off hands.

Fucking weird viewing. I don't even mind 'experts' coming on to give their views, I can fast forward that if needs be, just keep the matches in divisional order.

All felt a bit Soccer AM, you're not a cool hip new show. Just play the highlights in order, I've now used my confused face quota for the entire month in just over an hour and it aches.

Just play the games from Championship to League 2 in divisional order, organise the games in those leagues individually by the important/goals scored, and show post match commentary after. Bring someone in to be a pundit for a minute or two, saying obvious but necessary shit, then move on to more football. It isn't hard, shut up and show me the games Channel 5.

Keep your shitty scoreboard just cut out the live audience, this isn't Top Gear.

You would have to hope they will learn from this weeks showing and listen to fans comments on social media. It was disjointed, studio audience isn't needed. More highlights please in the correct order.

I didn't think it was possible to make a show worse than the Beebs FL show but even fast forwarding through the highlights was painful, utter utter shite

Watched until the end of our highlights and had to switch off, having impacted wisdom teeth removed with no anaesthetic while being simultaneously knee-capped would be less painful than having to sit through the whole programme. Fucking grim viewing.

Ronald McDonald could present it from a circus for all I care; it's on at 9pm and it doesn't have Manish patronising us.

Thumbs up from me.

I set the record button, cancelled it after the Blades got hammered, as I usually do when we lose, didn't watch much last year to be fair, when I realised it was repeated this AM I decided to give it a go. What a load of amateurish rubbish. Switched off after 10 tedious minutes. Apart from the bint didn't recognise any of the presenters. Surely it has to improve

Absolutely shocking show. That's why I don't get all the football league show bashing. I thought the coverage was good, just the fact it was on so late. George Reilly seems a good presenter but the bird was crap and the chopping and changing divisions is bizarre. No features or reports just 30 sec highlights.
What's with the audience ? If you are going to have them there talk to them. Trying to recreate fantasy football league. Just needed bottles of becks and statto.
And how many fucking adverts?

And for the record its burton Albion. Not Jimmy floyd hasellbanks burton Albion.

Highlights shows never get it perfectly straightaway

The Championship - On at a godawful time when most of us are in bed/playing Sunday League/in work. For the first few years Leagues 1 and 2 fans were short changed as they didn't show all the goals. It was an hour long including adverts and was the worst attempt of a highlights show I've ever seen. I saw someone on Twitter demand for it to come back, I suggest that person needs sectioning immediately.

The Football League Show - The best of them, a solid effort. When it first started, despite the useless emails section, it was brilliant. The Championship got slightly more coverage than the other two leagues but it was marginal and it looked like the Beeb made an incredible effort to start with. Then the Beeb started spending cuts and the process of alienating the fans of Leagues 1 and 2 clubs. Shows were no longer shown on international weekends, the Championship's race to the Premier League took up half the show, the arse-licking of Leicester was cringeworthy, the same pissing managers being interviewed every week (Nigel Pearson, Steve Evans, Eddie Howe etc) not to mention that wanker Manish patronising all those peasant clubs outside the Championship.

Football League Tonight - It needs serious tweaking, it's like a Soccer AM/Saturday Night Football lovechild that was starved of oxygen at birth. There's no need for two presenters, there's no need for a studio audience, there's no need for periscope gimmicks, awkward interviews with awkward managers like Martin Allen and there's no need for not going in divisional order. But the conspiracy theorist in me thinks the latter was devised purely to show Leagues 1 and 2 fans that they actually care about them but it might be clutching at straws. Give it the season, I'm sure significant changes will be made, and then we can all be happy...

Or not given that a Crawley fan on Twitter will probably moan about their 1-1 draw with Oxford having 15 seconds of highlights expecting at least 30 minutes of extended highlights and a full blown analysis on why they shouldn't play a 4-5-1 away from home and the latest on the Izale McLeod transfer situation. There's just no pleasing everybody!!!

Long story short to the producers at Channel 5: Less is more, less talk, more goals.
