IN:

Charlie Horton (GK) - In from Cardiff. Young American who is just going to take his time and play for our development squad with the hope that he progresses in the next couple of years into a contender for the first team.

Ross Turnbull (GK) - Joined from Barnsley just as a number two but played well in his only outing so far at Doncaster in the cup.

Sol Bamba (CB) - Signed permanently from Palermo after his loan deal last season. Looked unlikely at one point given his criticism of Cellino last year but thank God he's come in. A real leader as captain and one of the best defenders in the division. Brilliant so far this season, picking up Sky's MOTM award in all three league games shown on the box I believe. HAS to stay fit.

Tom Adeyemi (CM) - On loan with a view to a permanent deal from Cardiff. Has been excellent so far in the holding role but capable of getting forward at times to. Surprised he's out of favour at Cardiff and already looks sure to trigger the permanent move barring a significant loss of form.

Stuart Dallas (LW/RW) - Signed from Brentford and done well so far. Made a great debut against Burnley and has got two good assists in the last two games. Has drifted in and out of games but even when quiet has come up with pieces of quality to help us win points.

Lee Erwin (ST/LW) - Come in from Motherwell and Rosler keen to bed him in gently. Looked promising in pre-season and although not given any minutes yet, from his performances for the development squad, could come in and do a job for us where required.

Jordan Botaka (LW/RW) - Joined from Excelsior. Looks all tricks and skills on Youtube but he could be good or bad. We've had similar players in recent years and they can be hit or miss but hopefully he can give us something different out wide to our more conventional, less adventurous wingers.

Chris Wood (ST) - One of our biggest signings in many years transfer wise so was under pressure from the start but 3 goals in his last 3 games has done wonders for that, and his confidence. Hopefully he can continue on his way to 20 but we need him to stay fit as we're not blessed with forward options.

OUT:

Loads at end of loans, contract and a few left on frees (Billy Sharp, Steve Morison, Aidy White etc) but no one really worth talking about which is amazing! We've kept all our important players, replaced the one who was a potential loss (Rudy Austin) and that's really important.

Our best transfer window in years and years and we now have a good squad to go to war with. 8/10.

Combination of your dealings and bad luck with the Dicko injury is a bit of a downer then? Sako was inevitable really but that attack you had last year looks a bit blunted now. Good for the rest of us at least! Thought you'd have a really good season but a bit less sure now. Though thought you played pretty well against a good Hull team the other week.

I'm not sure we could have had a better transfer window Around £19m spent, with no sales. That'll have to be addressed, but seems we're really just going for it.

Bradley Johnson - 6m (rising to 7m) - Great signing. A coup, for sure.
Jacob Butterfield - 3.5m (rising to 4m) - Taken a while, but finally got our man for much more than I'm sure we expected.
Tom Ince - 4.75m - Stupid stupid Hull for putting that clause in the loan deal.
Jason Shackell - 3m - Quality CB.
Andreas Weimann - 2.5m - Looked superb in pre-season when played up front. Been playing as a winger in the league, and hasn't impressed. As Villa fans said he wouldn't when played on the wing.
Darren Bent - Free - Like Ince, we had to sign him based on last seasons form. Not really made an impression yet.
Chris Baird - Free - Hmm.
Alex Pearce - Free - Barely seen him yet.
Scott Carson - Nominal - Massive improvement over Grant it seems.

OUT
Raul Albentosa - Season Loan - Homesick. Shame, but made sense to move him on.
Conor Sammon - Season Loan - The last we'll see of him, given his contract is up next summer.
Jamie Ward - Released - Shame he had to go to Forest, but wasn't good enough for us anymore.

Yeh we looked decent against Hull, but the transfer window was underwhelming. Like you say we knew Sako would leave, but he hasn't been replaced (I don't really count an 18 year old kid on loan as a replacement).

Defensively we look very weak. Batth is still out and Stearman was the only defender in our entire squad who was a footballer pre 2010. Selling him really is stupid, I'd I've lost a lot of faith in the ambition of both the board and our manager over the decision. There was a poll on our site for fans whether to keep or sell him, with 82% saying it was important to keep him. Early days but for me Kenny Jackett has made huge cock up by letting him go.

Keeping Afobe was expected but he will leave next summer. Dicko's injury is a big blow but at least it will give Adam Le Fondre some game time.

All in all with our current squad, I think we'll finish around 14th.

Jordan Pickford - Looks a quality young keeper, more than happy with him so far.
Chris Kirkland - Yet to play, solid backup to Pickford you would think.
Marnick Vermijl - Looks alright, hard to judge as he missed out on playing games over pre-season and is getting up to speed.
Greg Cunningham - Looks a quality full back, can't fault him.
Will Keane - Tidy and hard working but looks more of a provider than a goalscorer, decent backup.
Paul Gallagher - Key player, great set piece taker and a lot of what we do goes though him.
Jermaine Beckford - Love him, gutted he's injured.
Stevie May - Seems a willing runner with a bit of class about him, question marks over his goalscoring ability at this level though.
Eion Doyle - Looks a proper poacher with decent height and bit of pace, 5 in 11 starts for Cardiff, not shabby.

Not assed about any of the players who have left, liked them but they would have struggled in this league.

Orlando Sa (ST) - Has looked very solid so far, good with the ball at his feet, also strong. Was important he got his first goal last weekend. Upgrade on pogrebnyak.
Stephen Quinn (CM) - Good well rounded CM, slotted into our midfield very easily
Paul McShane (CB) - Come straight into the team as captain, is a massive part of our great defensive unit so far this season
Jonathan Bond (GK) - Looks a bit shaky at times, but at 22 he is certainly one for the future and the exposure at this level will do him well
Ali Al-Habsi (GK) - Looks a bit shaky at times (yay for two keepers like that), and given his age and experience it has to go down (so far) as a poor transfer
Paolo Hurtado (LW) - Not seen him yet, but Peruvian international winger, hopefully help with our creativity problems

Loans:
Andrew Taylor (LB) - Brought in as cover for LB, looked solid enough in his couple of appearances so far
Alex Fernandez (CM) - Supposed to help add to the creativity in midfield, not seen much of him yet
Lucas Piazon (CAM?) - Not sure what to expect, highly rated young player who can play in a lot of forward positions
Michael Hector (CB) - Just sold to Chelsea, we know what he's about. On his day a Prem player, needs to remove the mistakes from his game
Matej Vydra (ST) - Scored a lot of goals at this level for Watford, and we're desperate for a good finisher to help us score the goals we should be getting
Ola John (LW) - Dutch international from Benfica, not really worked for him since leaving Twente, will hopefully build on our new found strength on the wings


OUT:
Hope Akpan (CM) - Gone to Blackburn, never really developed in his time here
Pavel Pogrebnyak (ST) - Big big wages that are finally off the finances, never scored enough as a striker
Michael Hector (CB) - Gone to Chelsea (and got him back on loan), high potential, bit dissapointed about only getting £4m for him
Zat Knight, Jure Travner, Danny Guthrie, Ryan Edwards, Yakubu, Mikkel Andersen, Adam Federici, Alex Pearce, Stephen Kelly and Jem Karacan all left the club after their contracts expired in June.


RATING: 9/10 - Aside from the obvious demise in the quality of keepers I feel that we've strengthened every area of the squad. Couldn't really ask for much more. Far more than I was expecting. Actually believe we can make a top 6 finish now.

For us it was all about who didn't leave, the local rags have been full of it that Dimmy Grey was only a matter of time before he went Leicester. Fair play to the kid for staying, if he continues how he's started I'm sure there'll be more interest come January. Cotterill put the transfer speculation to bed last week signing a new contract so that was another good result with all the Cardiff speculation.

We've let a youth player go who I've never heard of and Wes Thomas go to Swindon on loan, mildly surprised at that as we're really short up front if anything were to happen to The Don, talk is that we've got a couple of loanees lined up to fill that void but time will tell.

It's a sad state when you're celebrating Deadline Day because nobody left but that's where we find ourselves these days.

A CB and some forward back up in the loan market and I'm relatively happy.

Still feels quite early to judge but the early signs are that we couldn't have had a more contrasting transfer window compared to last summer under the old recruitment set-up where we missed out on just about every target with the players we did sign largely stinking the place out. Feels far more hit than miss this time round:

Tomer Hemed (FW) - settled quickly, looks a really commited, well-rounded centre forward who has 3 league goals already and could easily have several more. Has quickly struck up a decent partnership with Sam Baldock (who is in turn looking a different player).

Gaetan Bong (LB) - again, has slotted in very well and formed a decent understanding with Kaz on the left-wing. Positionally a little suspect at times but looks quick and strong with plenty to offer going forward.

Uwe Hunemeier (CB) - looks like the definition of a no-nonsense centre-half, cost a fair bit but appearing very much worth it on the evidence so far. Great experience and leadership qualities to go alongside Greer and Dunk.

Liam Rosenior (RB/RM) - has been used sparingly so far due to the (slightly surprising) form of Bruno, but has done a sterling job coming on late in games to help us see out victories. Was given an unexpected start at right-mid at Ipswich though and was apparently superb.

Jamie Murphy (W/AM) - only seen a small amount but looks a talented winger who can go past players and deliver a decent cross, remains to be seen how well he makes the step up from L1.

Bobby Zamora (FW) - again, only just getting out on the pitch for the first time this season at the weekend but should prove a really useful option to bring off the bench and provide an alternative to Hemed when we need someone to hold it up front. His return instantly lifted the fans just before the season started = PR win.

Others who look to have great potential but are yet to feature for varying reasons: attacking prospects Elvis Manu, Jack Harper and Vahid Hambo, along with CB Conor Goldson. Finnish international keeper Niki Maenpaa will provide genuine competition for Stockdale in goal.

Recurring theme this summer has been recruiting the right sort of characters, they've almost all arrived with unanimous praise on that front, which has borne itself out in the start we've made and how united they appear as a group already.

In terms of outs, we've offloaded a few youngsters on loan and now O'Grady to Forest. For the first time in years and years, we've not lost anyone that could be seen as key to our chances.

Jonathan Kodjia (ST) - Finishing is hit and miss so far but he looks a special player, very excited by him.

In (loan)

Ben Hamer (GK)- Thought we were getting a quality keeper when we signed him but bloody hell he ain't half dodgy. The sooner Fielding is back the better, who's not great himself.
Callum Robinson (LW, AM)- Tricky player, but noticed he hates physicality and backs out of 50/50s. Not keen on him at all so far.
Liam Moore (CB) - Signed today, could prove to be a cracking signing.
Nathan Baker (CB)- Also signed today, should be a solid enough signing at this level.

Out:

Ryan Fredericks- Fulham. See above.
Karleigh Osborne- Loan to Wimbledon for the season.
JET- Released now at QPR. Should've kept him.
Dave Richards- Released now at Crewe
Greg Cunningham- Preston. Should've kept him but understand if he wanted to leave as he was only backup here.

Ultimately not a great summer. Also a mention to Levi Ives, promising 17 year old signed from Torquay, who like Fredericks is gone already.

I'm very happy, however, I'm nervous about Clement.

We've not signed a bad player, but the team looks disjointed. Individually, I think everyone looks talented enough.

He needs to pick a system and get everyone singing from the same hymn sheet.

I'm really surprised by Scott Carson, though. He's looked very good for us.

Andreas Bjelland (CB): Danish international centre back and FC Twente captain, with the highest successful tackle win percentage in the Dutch top flight. Was meant to solve the problem of our inexperienced defence. Done his kneee ligaments, out for the season. £2.1m.

Josh McEachran (CM): the planned creative anchor in the side, played the most forward passes and passes into the opposition half in the Eredivisie last season. Broken foot, out for four months. £800k.

Philipp Hofmann (CF): bought in order to provide the plan B that we lacked under Warburton. 6'4" and is currently the first choice Germany U21 stiker, having scored 9 in 17 for the national u21 side. Isn't a physical presence, as we've recently discovered, but is instead a normal striker who just happens to be tall. Great first touch and hold up play, and reads the game very well. Hasn't had a prolific scoring record, but may get into double figures for us this season. £850k from Kaiserslauten.

Konstantin Kerschbaumer (CM): hard working box to box midfielder, may take a bit of time to get used to the Championship, as he's putting in a lot of effort but running out of steam after an hour in every game. Can pick out a pass and I think will become one of our better buys when he settles in. £450k.

Lasse Vibe (CF): Reading were after him last year, but were put off by the £2m price. We snapped him up for about £1.1m and I reckon he'll become a fan favourite in no time whatsoever. Works really fucking hard, every game, puts in a real shift and has a brilliant attacking flair. His hard working nature will see him settle in very quickly and has already scored a cracker. Our DoFs hadn't realised that he's halfway through an MA in Finance, so has to head back to Gothenberg to defend his thesis soon

Akaki Gogia (AML/AMR): Picking up from Halle in the German third division, he scored the highest % of free kicks in Europe last seasons apparently. Very tricky, inside forward type with an eye for goal a a great deal of pace, also capped at German youth level before a horrific injury saw him released from Wolfsburg not too long ago. Free.

Yoann Barbet (CB): Technical left-footed centre back with an excellent range of passing. Looks to be one for the future, or the management are allowing him to read the style of Championship football rather than dropping him in at the deep end. French youth international, was signed for around £500k from Chamois Niortais, having come through the ranks at Bordeaux.

Ryan Williams (AMC): Free kick specialist who can also play a bit. Signed in order to provide dead ball specialism, and will need to improve his overall play in order to get into the side, but we've reunited him with a specialist ball-striking coach. Free, from Morecambe.

Marco Djuricin (CF): Pacey Austrian international who was at the centre of Warburton-gate. We almost signed him in January, as he was then one of the top scorers in the Austrian top flight. He ended up at RB Salzburg and has struggled for goals, but looks a very strong option up front. Loan with fee agreed to buy option.

Sergi Canos (AML/AMR/CF): Came through the youth ranks at Barcelona before Liverpool poached him a couple of years ago. Strong and technical, can play anywhere across the forward line. Looks like he'll be an option from the bench for the next few months until our injured players start returning. Loan.

Ryan Woods (CM): Ball-playing central midfielder with 100+ games under his belt as a 21 year old. Seen him play a few times and been very impressed, with his reputation growing further after getting into L2 TOTY and ranking second as FL POTY. £750k.

Maxime Collin (RB): Seemingly an upgrade on Odubajo, a specialist full back with pace, technique and positional sense. Been very impressed with him after a game and a half, and seems to be an excellent acquisition. £800k.

Out (£12,000,000 + £3,000,000 add ons):

Andre Gray (CF): Can't argue with the fee we received, just a bit sad to see players we brought into the football league wanting to leave us after 12 months. Scored a decent amount, but was looking a different player in pre-season and the season's opening games - had a hand in 5 of our 6 goals this season before he left, and will be the player we miss most. £6.25m +£3m add-ons + 27.5% sell-on.

Moses Odubajo (RB/AMR): Came slightly out of the blue that he in fact had a minimum fee release clause in his contract, set at a relatively low fee. A pacey and useful player whom we relocated to right back after an injury to another player, but had played at RB at Orient. Will go far in the game. £3.5m.

Jonathan Douglas (CM): The reported trouble maker in the group, and was apparently causing divisions in the squad, so we had to get rid. The undertaker of "unseen work" on the field, it's become apparent that we're missing his guile and experience. Had to leave, but we're a lesser side without him. Free.

Stuart Dallas (AML/AMR): Wanted out after his mate Douglas left, Dallas also wanted a salary increase and to be playing week in week out. We didn't want to pay him more, and it actually transpired that we were going to be playing him less due to an upgrade in our squad (before our injury crisis...). Was one of my favourite player, excellent work rate, ball striking ability and pace. Very sad to see him go. £1.25m.

Will Grigg (CF): Sadly it didn't work out for Grigg, despite scoring wherever he's been apart from Brentford. Didn't get a solid run in the team and often played out of position, we decided to cash in as he only had a year left on his contract. £1m.

Tony Craig (CB): The sort of player every fan likes, hard worker, tough as nails and gives a shit. Unfortunately with Bjelland, Barbet and O'Connell coming into the squad at left-sided centre back, Craig was always going to leave. Gone back to his beloved Milwall for a third spell. Free.

Alfie Mawson (CB): Talented young centre half who came 3rd in the L2 POTY in his first season in professional football. Wanted away due to competition and has joined the mighty Barnsley. Tribunal.

The overall ability of the squad has improved, and I'd say we'd really be pushing at the top end of the league if we'd have kept Dallas, Gray and Odubajo, but having sold them, having a raft of long-term first team injuries and certain players taking time to bed in, I reckon we might trouble the play-offs if all goes our way this season. If our absence of luck continues, we'll sit around mid-table. We've completely changed our staff with a new head coach, new assistant, 2 new DoFs and a host of new coaches, it all may take a while to settle down.

The question is, will he sell for more than £6.25m - £9m? If we've already received £2m in add-ons byt the time they sell him, then we may not receive that much as a sell-on fee; if they get a price of £12m for him, we'd get 27.5% of roughly £4m. So it's not an awful deal for Burnley.

I think the problem with ours is that while we have some fantastic individual players, can they work as a team? The team that took us to the 13/14 PO final has almost diminished which is a shame because we were much better as a team then however if we can get our players working well together which they haven't been doing yet then our transfers could be very good. We'll wait and see, a lot depends on how clement goes about it with systems.

Piotr Malarczyk (CB), £9k. Don't know anything about him. Scary-looking Polish bloke.
Jonathan Douglas (CM), free. Added a bit more depth and experience in midfield, short term solution but looks good so far.
Giles Coke (CM), free. As above, but not as good.
Tommy Oar (LM), free. Australian international, has been playing the Dutch top flight and linked with more high-profile clubs than us. I'm expecting big things.
Brett Pitman (ST), free. Proven goalscorer, an excellent addition.
Larsen Toure (RM), free. Another experienced player, not sure he'll get much game time given other signings.
Josh Yorwerth (CB), free. Young centre back, more one for the future.
James Alabi (ST), free. Emergency backup target man, don't expect to see much of him.

Ryan Fraser (LM/RM), loan. Brilliant so far, it's a shame he's only on loan.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles (RM), loan. Has the technical skills you'd expect from Arsenal, seems to have better end product and decision making that I thought he would at 18.


OUT (£8m)

Tyrone Mings (LB), £8m. Good player with a lot of potential, but £8m is ridiculous.
Stephen Hunt, Noel Hunt, Paul Anderson, Darren Ambrose and a few more, released. Decent squad players last season, but we've got better options now.

Cameron Stewart (RM), loan. The end of his failed time at Portman Road.
Matt Clarke (CB), loan. Should be a good move for him to get some first team experience.


I'm delighted with our dealings this summer, the squad is stronger and deeper in almost every position and we made over £7m profit along the way. 9/10

Marco Matias - (Undisclosed - ??) - Not sure what we've paid for him but looks a good addition scored a couple, one of which was as a good a goal as i've seen from a Wednesday player in many years, looks promising
Lewis Price (Free Transfer) - Looks ok, think we've been spoiled with Westwood and people obviously haven't rated Price because he's never going to be to that standard.
Ross Wallace (Free Transfer) - Looks ok, good experienced player in this division, brilliant delivery.
Lewis Mcgugan (350K) - Had to bring him in after last season, will be a good player for us.
Lucas Joao (Undisclosed - £2million ish) Not sure about him, has potential but still only young, don't think he'll be the answer this season
Rhoys Wiggins (Undisclosed) - Actually not been particularly impressed up to now
Modou Sougou (Free Transfer) - Looks someone good to bring off the bench, not sure i'd start him but he obviously has some ability about him.
Fernando Forristieri (£3million) - Proven at this level and will be a very good signing
Barry Bannan (Free Transfer) - Again, adds quality to the squad
Vicent Sasso (Season Long Loan) - Looks good on the ball for a centre half, been impressed so far

All in all we've massively improved our squad but such a big turnaround means its going to be difficult to do it this season, i expect we'll be that team that has a good run after Christmas, maybe just miss out on the play-offs

So many teams are targeting play offs this year. We werent, we were playing for mid table while we re build, but that is when we thought we would sell Austin, Phillips etc. As they all stayed, we should be going for promotion.

We made around 5 million profit this summer, whilst chopping millions off of our wage bill so QPR fans are very happy right now.

I thought I'd do a write up:

Scott Carson - Free - I think he's been very good so far. I wasn't expecting much, in fact, I didn't even think he would start, but he's really done well since he got the shirt. Long may it continue.

Chris Baird - Free - He's an incredibly intelligent player, rarely loses the ball and looks a decent choice for the captaincy. I get why people don't like him as a right-back, as he is very much a defensive minded player and doesn't bomb forward, but we look more steady with him in the side.

Alex Pearce - Free - I don't see why we signed him, to be honest. I like his attitude and in all his interviews he comes across very well. He's just not as good as Keogh and Shackell. I think he will struggle for football unless one of those gets injured.

Jason Shackell - £3m - I think everyone knew what we were getting when he signed. He's a solid defender, prone to a hospital pass here and there, but has really shored us up at the back. He seems to be the perfect partner for Keogh.

Tom Ince - £4.75m - Outstanding footballer, great attitude and work ethic. I still think he will prove to be our best signing this summer, but Clement hasn't half made him look like a duffer. He's played him in systems which ultimately make everything good about his game redundant. He had a great game against Birmingham and I hope that Clement gets him in a position where he can hurt teams again, rather than positions where it's easy for teams to not only double up, but triple up on him.

Jacob Butterfield - £4m - I'm interested to see how this one plays out. I really like the look of him, the noise around him seems to be very positive and he's a creative player that does it through the middle. I think since Hughes got injured and Hendrick decided that he would rather play where's wally than central midfield then he's a very good signing.

Bradley Johnson - £6m - Like Butterfield, I thought Johnson was just what we need judging by the early games this season. We needed someone in central midfield to really have a go at the opposition, drive the ball forward and occasionally have a shot at goal. He was outstanding last season, nothing is ever guaranteed in football, but I hope he reproduces similar form here.

Darren Bent - Free - He's not really had much of a chance, but he's no unknown player at this level. I personally think Clement should work around a partnership of Bent and Martin. I do think it would work quite well. Bent needs game time and he needs chances. Butterfield could be perfect foil for him.

Andreas Weimann - £2.75m - good player, but isn't really a winger. I think in the system we played last season, he would be okay, but he looks to be a more central player.

I think a lot of how the new players turn out depend on Clement. He's done very little for the likes of Ince, Bent and Weimann so far.

The balance has looked terrible, with huge gaps between certain positions and it's not surprising how we've started. I have no problem with any of the players signed, but now it's down to the head coach to get the best out of them! I have no doubts McClaren would get this side up, though.

Sam Clucas (£1.3mil) - Decent enough. Works hard and has a bit of pace. Not entirely convinced about him yet, and not sure if he's a worthy replacement for Robbie Brady, but time will tell.

Ryan Taylor (Free) - Unconvinced. Technically sound, but seems to be lacking in terms of pace and general fitness. With Odubajo and Robertson at full back, Taylor will be nothing more than back up.

Moses Odubajo (£3.5mil) - Haven't seen enough to comment with any great authority, but he looks decent. Very quick, adding to the pace of his partner on the right channel, Ahmed Elmohamady.

Shaun Maloney (Undisclosed - £1.5mil?) - Only made one substitute appearance so far, but looks to still be incredibly gifted. SHOULD be a very good player at this level, but has had a pretty poor time in Chicago.

Adama Diamande (Undisclosed - £1.7mil?) - Deadline day signing. I admit, I know nothing about him, other than he has a very good scoring record for Stabaek so far this season (17 in 21). Obviously can't comment on ability, but he's supposed to be quick, strong and a decent finisher. He certainly looks the part.

Isaac Hayden (Season-long loan) - Knew very little about him prior to signing, but he's looked decent when used this season. Energetic box-to-box midfielder who likes to put himself about a bit.

Chuba Akpom (Season-long loan) - Again, knew very little about him, other than his previous poor goalscoring record on previous loans. Has looked absolutely brilliant since signing. Quick, good on the ball, hard-working. I like him A LOT.

Joe Dudgeon (Released) - Started as first choice LWB when Bruce first took over, but suffered a serious injury and hasn't played for us since to my knowledge.

Maynor Figueroa (Released) - Shite. NEXT...

Steve Harper (Released) - Still a decent keeper. Probably would've been given a new contract, but we had a wage bill to reduce and Harper was the only one of our three goalkeepers with a contract about to expire.

Paul McShane (Released - Reading) - I don't want to talk about this...

Liam Rosenior (Released - Brighton) - Or this either...

Mark Oxley (Released - Hibernian) - Young GK. Signed in the Summer of 2008. Played once for us in seven years. Spent last year on loan at Hibs so made it permanent when his contract expired. Scored on his debut for them last season, too (FROM HIS OWN BOX!) -

Yannick Sagbo (Released) - Looked okay when he first signed. Wasn't. Found a new club somewhere, but can't be arsed to check who.

Tom Ince (Derby - £4.7mil) - Great talent, shit attitude and arse of a father. Would've kept him, but not too fussed he's gone.

Robbie Brady (Norwich - £7mil) - Good player. Again, would've kept him, BUT SEVEN MILLION POUNDS.

James Chester (West Brom - £8mil) - Great player and sad to lose him. But then, was in last year of his contract, AND EIGHT MILLION POUNDS.

Dame N'Doye (Trabzonspor - £2.2mil) - Started alright last season, quickly became lazy. He wanted out, not arsed that he's gone.

Nikica Jelavic (West Ham - £3mil) - Great player, but has glass knees. Again, wanted out and has looked disinterested when he's played this season, so not arsed that he's gone.

RETAINED (THE IMPORTANT BIT)

Curtis Davies - Back to his best. Awesome partnership with Daws means we won't concede many this year.

Tom Huddlestone - Can change a game. Looked lazy as fuck so far this season, but is a good Prem player when he can be arsed.

Abel Hernandez - Bizarrely, Abel looks lively and like he wants to be around. Scored two so far this season already.

Rob Snodgrass - Still injured. Should be one of the best players in the division when fit, if we ever see the day!

Jake Livermore - Still banned. Hope he's given a light punishment given the circumstances. Would be one of the best midfielders in the league.

Mohamed Diame - Recently back from injury. Still got it! INCREDIBLE.

Michael Dawson - Captain. Potential City legend, like his brother. Black and amber runs through the veins of that family, I tell ya...

Andy Robertson - Potentially a top, top left-back. Can be error prone, but is becoming an excellent player.

Ahmed Elmohamady - There are no words. Great man, great player. Like shit off a stick, an' all...

All in all, reasonably pleased with the window, the most important aspect being the players we've kept hold of. They could be what decides how quickly we return to the top flight.

Very impressive. Using the scouting system to full effect, and dealing with reasonable money.

I wasn't on the Bournemouth fairytale bus last season, because it didn't happen by miracle, it happened because of money spent. If Ipswich go up this season, I'd be genuinely happy for the club, and for Mick McCarthy. Top, top manager at this level.
