Awful draw generally, no money spinners for us lower teams. Middlesbrough at home isn’t great but still better than some of the others, Mansfield at Peterborough is a terrible tie for them.
We play the Posh at home

We are in Cumbria now - the club pre dates Cumbria coming into existence though so were originally Lancashire, therefore we've always been tied into the Lancs FA.
Thought you were in Westmorland now

Donny did well tonight. Selfishly I hope there will be some tired legs going into Saturday that we can capitalise on - after that wish them well!

I wouldn’t go as far as saying it’s an awful draw. It’s disappointing not to have that glamour tie, granted, but it’ll be a decent crowd nonetheless.

Middlesborough will fetch whatever we allocate them - 4,350ish. Sensible pricing and we’re looking at 16k+, probably more.

Enough to generate circa £80k+ (gross) in gate receipts alone.

That's not a bad little earner when you put it like that. Game is certainly winnable, too.

Furness and Westmorland now - or at least that's the council area. most of us "older" fans/residents preferred the option of being back in Lancashire (apparently)

After late heartbreak against PL opposition after leading for so long playing so well I am saying lump on the Pride of Wiltshire.

Tired legs and sad hearts

Hope I'm wrong but I can't see 12k+ home fans for Boro. Don't see it being enough of a draw.

I could post the graphic that showed Notts getting more penalties than Wrexham last season again if you like. I know all of yours were legitimate and all of ours were dodgy but still.

Tbh the Bradford one is gone. It doesn't matter, but I'm not having that they would be happy if it had gone against them.

Oh and Mullin would have absolutely claimed for that. But he wasn't even getting legitimate ones by the end of the season.
Yours weren't all dodgy at all, they were all Mullin and usually at the Racecourse. Plus we spread ours out throughout the squad legitimate or otherwise.

By the end of the season even the NL officials had finally got wise to just how often he was hitting the deck and claiming a foul. They were probably collectively embarrassed by that point so wanted to readdress the balance. The Scouse that cried wolf.

No he doesn't, it's shoulder to shoulder. If that's a penalty there are fifteen penalties each game.

I agree it's not a pen and I'd be fuming if it was given against us.

That being said, I can see how the ref has given it. From his position it will look like he's come through the back of Walker.

Edit: Parky talking his usual nonsense about there being '4 or 5 bodies between the ref and the coming together'. That first vid shows the ref has a clear line of sight. Parky loves chatting rubbish after games. Always has done.

Oh god yeah he can't let anything go. I can see why other fans don't like him, absolute lunatic.

I see Alex Bass is still providing game costing howlers, in the Wimbledon game.

Absolute disgrace the way league 2 sides have been treated with that draw.

How on earth is not having a lower league side at home at all times is still truly baffling. Spain do it and a great occasion for the minnows getting one of the very big boys.

Do you mean seeding so lower rank sides pull higher ranked in the fra? Or just always have the lower placed team at home?

If the latter, I disagree that'd be a good idea. We had Man United at OT a few years ago. Revenue share from a 60k+ attendance v 10k at home just shows why being stuck at home would've been disadvantageous.

I'd go with the former, but ties like Port Vale v Sutton doesn't whet the appetite, but as you say, Rochdale v United at home or away would be better revenue for the lower ranked side, therefore a lower ranked side would need to play a higher team.

To be fair to him that's about the first mistake we've seen, although it's only been 6 games so far... he's been excellent otherwise.
Also a bit unlucky that the ball takes 2 deflections and rolls straight in front of a £100m+ midfielder running towards the centre of the goal...

We’ll probably play a strong side as we’ve not got a game now til mid-September. Hope we don’t accidentally go and qualify for the next round again.

Fully expecting 11 changes.

Good chance to bed in the new signings.

I won't be there.

I think we have to play 4 players who played in the previous league fixture, or something like that.

I'd play something like:

Howard

Forde
O'Connell
Tozer
Cleworth
Hosannah

Young
Cannon
Evans

Dalby
Waters

Subs: Okonkwo , Boyle, Barnett, MacAlinden, Cannon, Jones, Bickerstaff

Our ticketing information for our game against Middlesbrough has just been released, normally that wouldn’t warrant putting it on this forum but at £5 a ticket I think it’s incredible value. Once again the club making football as affordable as possible, hopefully they’ll be rewarded with a big crowd https://www.bradfordcityfc.co.uk/news/2023/september/boro-tickets-on-sale-tomorrow/
Very good - you do seem to do well with attracting crowds .

Others ought to follow but guess every club is different.

Now just need a consistent team !

After being in the last 6 balls left to pick with man city, newcastle, leicester, liverpool and peterborough it’s totally understandable how folk aren’t tripping over themselves for the glamour tie of peterborough at home.

Mansfield, Sutton, Salford and Bradford City repping L2 tomorrow night.

Actually looking forward to our game against Middlesbrough. Booked day off work - so I’m gonna try and make the most of it.

It’ll be a tough game, but hopefully we can give a good account of ourselves infront of, what should be, a boisterous crowd.
