Lawrence Vigouroux has finally officially signed for Burnley.

We need a new #1 - Hoping for Luke McGee but I think thats wishful thinking!

Curtis Davies has apparently passed his medical and agreed terms.

We've also got Joe Starbuck on trial - formerly of Grimsby and Sheffield United.
We looked into signing Davies last year from Derby but his wages were too much at the time.

We're his local side, I know/met a few people who went to school with him as he's the same school year as me, he always said he'd play for us one day, but looks like that time has passed now!

Heard you guys were interested in signing Alex Bass from Sunderland. Good solid GK, one of our academy lads who fell foul of Gavin Bazunu's loan spell. Very good league one GK for me

I wasn't sure how true that was tbh, how good is he at playing out from the back? If he is capable, there maybe some legs in it!

Wellens latest update from today to paraphrase, said something like 'we've signed a keeper, he's with his parent club this week and will join us next week' so very much may be Bass, either way it's a loan signing based on 'parent club'.

Also mentioned one of our out of contract players is signing a new deal this week, so I guess it will be Sweeney based on the rumours of Smyth and Happe going. Saw on Twitter than Smyth has apparently had his medical at QPR.

I think we should just do a Wigan/Fleetwood and splash the cash even though we don't have the money.
Let's just cheat because every other fucker in this league does.

Apparantly the next two who may sign are Max Power & George Friend -- Both at our training ground yesterday.
Barton loves a Dads Army signing doesn't he, he liked them at Fleetwood as well.

Does make you wonder how Fleetwood are still able to sign players when there's the issue with the owner, albeit it's probably the technicality of him relinquishing control that means they still can. He, or those linked, shouldn't be able to continue to fund a club with apparently fraudulent money.

That’s my general thoughts tbh, but I base that on stats and now actual knowledge on the guy.

Hard to believe we could get Max Power tbh, but if we did then jesus I might just get excited about a play off push
Yeah Max Power would be a different story. Has won promotion from this league and played regularly at a higher level.
id still like us to sort out another CB soon though now we are back in training

Gassan Ahadme in on a season long loan from Ipswich. Looks like the perfect Joe Ironside replacement.

Burton and Ipswich fans thoughts please.

Danny Mayor has moved back to Preston/ Leyland so it was always going to be a north west club. I doubt he'll be on mega money, sounds like locality was his main requirement.

Signing incoming.

Those itk say former loanee Alfie McAlmont is in the building, hopefully in a permanent if it is him.
Wrong loanee, it's Jack Robinson. When we signed him on loan it was with a view to a permanent deal but I presumed that with him being well behind Armer in the pecking order that he hadn't impressed enough. Clearly I was wrong, but it does mean that our first signing is unlikely to be a starter.

Paul Smyths transfer to QPR has now been confirmed, he goes full circle and rejoins the club we signed him from 2 years ago.

The only reason we ended up signing him, was because of his poor injury records - which did continue in his time with us.........until Richie Wellens came to the club and did a superb job of managing his minutes and getting the best out of him.

There were a number of occasions Smyth managed to dig us out of a hole with a spectacular goal or piece of skill, he'd always get you off your seat. Hopefully for him he can keep overcoming his injuries and he can be managed as well as Wellens managed him, because there was no way he should've be playing in League Two with the ability he had.

Dan Happe has also signed a contract extension with us - club haven't disclosed the full length of it other than he's signed for one more year, his 8th season as a pro with us.

Wellens reckons we will have a few more signings later this week.

We’ve just signed Conor Grant on a 2 year deal. I think this is a pretty good signing.

Connor Grant signs for Vale from Plymouth, midfielder it seems. Not one I’m overly familiar with and wasn’t expecting another midfielder to sign but hopefully a good addition.

He's a good footballer, good technically and with a great left foot. Was rumoured to be going to Preston, so this is a very good signing in my book. All Plymouth fans seemed to really like him. Really happy with our business so far. Feels like we're recruiting well enough to stay away from the bottom end.

We’ve finally signed a player!!

Carl Winchester moves to us permanently on a two year deal after spending last season on loan with us. Have to say I’m very happy but also shocked. Honestly expected him to move one of the League One big boys but I’ll more than happily take him back.

Great start to our business that, more of that please Salop.

I've seen some Plymouth fans comments saying grant played left wing back for them so he may play that position instead of centre midfield.

Maybe we should have just trusted the process! Flickers is delivering so far it seems.

Looking at it the four signings all seem to be upgrades, time will tell.

FFS, we literally are going to be the last team left in the division (not counting those under a transfer embargo) to sign a player.

I know there’s still weeks and weeks to go, but throw us a bone here, people.

Even a development squad player who’ll never get anywhere near the first XI would do…

Connor Grant is a good signing for Vale if you can keep him fit (big if). Lovely left foot, technical player. Started centre mid in his first couple years for us then moved to left wing back, which imo is his better position.

Great lad too.

What’s the situation with his injuries as seems to have been mainly last season but 89 apps in 2 seasons before?

We need a wingback but AC seemed to talk about him as a midfielder… with Sang and Garrity it’s three scousers in midfield so should be a good unit!

Grant is an interesting one. He’s never really impressed me in midfield but he’s a solid wingback for L1. Not got bundles of energy or pace but he’s got a very nice left foot.
