How bad are Rotherham? Being kind they need time to gel...

Apparently Evans refused to shake Caldwells hand at the end. Couldn't see anything for him to be upset about. Dozy c***.

Oh, and Johnly Yfeko could just be the signing of thr season.
Well done Exeter.

Couldn't tell you whether they shook hands because the coverage went down during injury time.
If he didn't he's a pillock, it's not like we deserved anything.

Exeter played all the football and we looked like we were still playing friendlies.

There were a couple of bad misses for us but if we had scored it would have been undeserved.

I feel so sorry for the 800 + that have to make that long journey back having seen us play so half-heartedly

I fear this away curse will be with us for a while longer judging on that performance.

So the 4 promoted teams from league 2 are all in the top 6
Tinpot league. First half Wycombe looked like the NL sides we used to play, woeful but second half really opened us up and it was another level than we know. We certainly scored that third at the right time.

Opening day win, always good.

Was the same with barnsley when we we were 2-1 either side of half time, something you don’t see in league 2.

think we’d take the honours for her most impressive result of the 4 but well done all.

Also worth bearing in mind that was our League Two team (apart from Dobson) and missing our best attacker. We will get better as the season goes on, so pretty encouraging.

We were abysmal today but it doesn’t help when you’re playing against 12 men. The most biased referee I’ve seen since Exeter at home last season.

Only the opening day, but one thing is for certain is we need a few more signings yet. Couldn’t even put out a full bench which is just embarrassing on the first day. We need to get O’Reilly on the ball more, everytime he got the ball he either made something happen or was looking to.

Onto Peterborough next weekend.
I believe Jevani Brown is available if you want another of our bench from last season!

how have we come away with three points today. Until Evatt changed it with 30 mins to go it could have gone either way. Kelman ripped Iredale apart time after time and needs to buy Baxter a drink or two tonight.
Sooner Johnston fits in there the better. Awful football by both teams but plenty of effort by both teams.
Out shithoused a Wellans team so that part was good.............A lot of work needs doing on the training ground in the next couple of weeks. Schon, Mcatee, and Matete excellent from our new signings but Baxter head and shoulders best player on the field

We won.

First goal was good second was a deflection.

League 1 is so much quicker. Blackpool run us around a lot. Good side.

Their right winger is frightening. Trouble is he frightens the full back then scares the shit out of the fans on the other side of the pitch with his crosses.

We hung on to win. Their goal was awful but they all count.

We ain't bottom!

Yep game was a tale of the two keepers, Baxter pulled off 4 very good saves and Hemming had one thing to do in the second half and he fumbled the cross and you steal the game with your only clear chance.

Thats been our problem for a long while, we get on top of teams but don't land the killer blow.

First half was quite even to be fair, we grew into the game after Boltons quick start.

Second half if we score one of those 4 chances, we get something from the game, clearly a good time to play Bolton as in the second half they didn't land many blows, but the subs also won you the game. McAtee came on and won the free kick which lead to the goal and caused us some problems, we don't have options like that off the bench.

Frustrating, not the best start for Hemming in goal and the fans already questioning him.

Some parts of that game we was as bad as we played against Oxford at Wembley.....Charles should of put the game to bed when he missed that sitter but yes you restricted us. Plus Collins on another day buries two chances instead of completly missing the ball. You also should have been down to 10 men, Lolos may be out for some time. Swap keepers you get the 3 points.......I expect a few players back against Mansfield mid-week and a stronger team to play Wrexham next Sunday

You will have to get used to that with Collins he does miss an awful lot of chances particularly 1v1s

A bizarrely open game at the Pirelli more akin to a basketball match at times and weirdly all four goals have come from shite defending on the left hand side of both defences.

Burton will be the happier with their performance.
A much calmer second half with the wing backs closing the space off, I'm not sure Burton had a shot on target on the second half? All five of today's goals from crosses and four headers!

Burton clearly moved on from the Hasselbaink, Maamria style of play but probably lacked some physicality across the pitch. I felt even our less physical technical players were more physical than them. Suspect they'll be involved in quite a few high scoring games this season, they're super expansive and further into the season with a bit more sharpness, I think we'd have taken advantage of some turnovers.

Good to get up and running but less of that first half openness, please!

He just had a off day....Not bad when you can take both Collins and Charles off and replace them with Mcatee and Adeboyejo

Great result for a team that only met each other less than a month ago.
Looking forward to Cambridge next week .
Nice to be in league which is a bit more travel friendly.

Couple of excellent options to bring on there; we don’t have the luxury of that sort of bench. McAtee was the best player on the pitch when he came on. Bit gutting to lose via a poor goalkeeping error, but I expect us to have to grow into the season a bit - especially considering our monstrous opening few fixtures.

We were bloody good today, I mean very good! Johnly Yfeko is unreal and considering that was his professional debut it was impressive how he completely bosses JCH from start to finish. Crama also imperious.

In fact, everyone was at least 8/10 imo. Chuffed for Caleb Watts to score with his first touch, he deserved it after a tricky year or so.

And the atmosphere today was top drawer, not heard it that loud for a while. Rotherham travelled in good numbers but very quiet.

Evans really doesn’t do himself any favours and he needs to be humble and accept the better team won.

Need to keep our feet on the ground but a very impressive start.

Well, it’s better than last season.
But we are still wide open at the back which is a concern.
Lots of players out injured, so not overly concerned yet. I think we will be ok.
Lincoln looked very open but decent.
Would have been happy with a draw but hey ho.

A game of two halves. Wycombe atrocious in the first and much improved in the second, and were arguably deserving of a point all though we did make hard work of it.

Dobson the only new signing who played with Marriot putting in a much improved performance capped off with a great goal. Fantastic for us as that could massively help his confidence.

Knew Crawley would win today.

Blackpool very unlucky to face Crawley early on, just as Reading were lucky to face Birmingham.

Yeah Happes challenge was a nasty one, Kolos started a bit of a mini brawel at the end as he went to confront him over it.

A very good result for Crawley - But worth pointing out that Blackpools away form last season was really poor and ultimately cost them a playoff place, considering their home form was one of the leagues best.

Nice pre-season friendly at Edgely Park today, we're still lacking sharpness but hopefully should be in better shape by the time the first match comes around...

Strange that Rotherham sign 73 players and were awful; Crawley do the same and are good..

you will do ok especially at home, Welland will make sure of that. It is the first time Kelman has caught my eye.
Looked him up and was a bit of a shock to find he spent time at Wigan last season. Really rate Archibald and think you missed him yesterday. Keeper will not be as bad again or Wellan will pot him and you may not see a goalkeeper play like Baxter again all season.
