Surprised at Rotherham not starting with Dawson. Best keeper we've ever had

So how are Wrexham getting on with no strikers and Marriott being awful?

Marriott's goal was very good to be fair.

The first Wxm goal was soft as fuck but that's on us (even if we had a defender off the field injured, that's our problem).

We've looked shit and clueless in attack for most of the half, but pulled it together a bit in the last 5 minutes of the half and had 2 shots off the crossbar.

We desperately need the next goal though, a draw would be great at this stage but still a big ask.

I would say Dobson probably the standout for Wxm so far, the kind of niggly ct that you love if he's on your side but is fucking annoying if he's with the opposition.

Toing and froing at the Mem. We were miles better first 25 and looked bang at it, couldn’t quite fashion a decent chance but looked really lively. Rovers then came back into after that and have had the best chance with Omochere from the edge of the box. All to play for second half but we finished that first half really scrappy and not keeping the ball so that needs to be rectified.

Something else that needs to be rectified is them turning the commentator down and turning the crowd noise up. She’s had a poor half and is just far too loud.

A bizarrely open game at the Pirelli more akin to a basketball match at times and weirdly all four goals have come from shite defending on the left hand side of both defences.

Burton will be the happier with their performance.

Pretty cagey first half which we’ve probably just slightly edged in terms of chances. Hopefully the second half sparks to life a bit

Was a troubling period halfway through the first half where Cambridge had full control of the game, but we've restricted them from really threatening goal. At the other end we've scored a wondergoal, hit the post and had one disallowed for margnal offside, so rather happy with County's threat today.

I notice that already relegated Crawley are 2 up and League Champions Birmingham are losing at home.

Bolton have been abysmal again, really poor standard of a game Evatt needs potting but most of his signings aren't playing so he will probably not get what he deserves, same old unconvincing shit as last season,

He’s got your diving up to mid-season form already, mind. Cracking miss from Dion Charles there.

Charles subbed, we score, terrible goalkeeping, literally big Victor scored within 10 seconds of coming on, Evatt will no doubt lap up the credit

Looking half decent, add another striker good to go. We actually have a midfield this season

Sky sports plus cuts out bang on 90 minutes then apparently Rovers have scored! What fucking bright spark times the stream to cut out on 90 minutes exactly! Dozy c***

How bad are Rotherham? Being kind they need time to gel...

Apparently Evans refused to shake Caldwells hand at the end. Couldn't see anything for him to be upset about. Dozy c***.

Oh, and Johnly Yfeko could just be the signing of thr season.

Oh well. It's good to have the pre-season optimism balloon bursting early doors, saves the disappointment later on.

Decent showing from Wxm, two good goals (and a shit soft set-piece, but we got one of those too).

Thought Wycombe were fair for a draw. There number 3 and 4 impressed me. Glad to get the win in the end. Decent goal to win it. Annoying to go 3-1 up and completely switch off to let them back in it.
We still look like a team who will struggle against anybody with pacey wide men up top.
Very impressed with Dobson.

Pretty scrappy from both sides, which is probably to be expected in the first game of the season, but we probably just about deserved the win.

We were abysmal today but it doesn’t help when you’re playing against 12 men. The most biased referee I’ve seen since Exeter at home last season.

Only the opening day, but one thing is for certain is we need a few more signings yet. Couldn’t even put out a full bench which is just embarrassing on the first day. We need to get O’Reilly on the ball more, everytime he got the ball he either made something happen or was looking to.

Onto Peterborough next weekend.

Not much in it but a good win for us. We looked very good defensively which is a big improvement given we only got 4 clean sheets last season. We were also woeful away last year. Still cautious as we had a similar performance and game last season in our opening game and our attack and midfield did struggle to get anything going up top.

That was a tough game. Burton look like they have a clue this season, based on play from the 90, we didn't deserve the 3 points.

We started better, Burton scored with first attack. It then turned into crazy end to end game first half. We responded straight away and were 2-1 up. Looks like we'll be a threat from set pieces this season. Burton looked a threat everytime they attacked. Massive holes with our wing backs pushing forward. 2-2 at half time. I liked the look of the right wing back and Whitfield.

2nd half was a different game, we didn't push the wing backs up and became more compact. Burton has a goal disallowed, but apart from final few minutes, we managed to nullify them more and was no way near as open, and ground out the win.

A very much hard fought win, we were more direct than I expected. Burton fans will be pleased by that showing compared to last season.

Yeah, my Sky sports went down about then, wonder how the attendances have been affected, I see at Orient there was at least a 1000 less than last season
