Think Barnett's a better player than Bolton tbh. Parkinson also seems to think so.
Yep, Barnett hit the ground running with us and has just got better. Deservedly took home goal of the season last season too for this:

Stevenage away.

Always a tough place to go is Stevenage, although I don’t think they’ll do quite as well this season now that they don’t have Steve Evans and instead an inexperienced manager in Alex Revell.

Reckon we’ll line up like this:-

GK) Savin

LB) Benning
CB) Nsiala
CB) Feeney
RB) Hoole

CM) Winchester
CM) Rossiter
CM) O’Rielly

RW) Bloxham
LW) Shipley

ST) Marquis

Stevenage 1-1 Salop (Shipley)

Just the 10 injuries for this normal club. Not an exaggeration either like when Mansfield fans say they have injuries and it means like three or four.

Southam Hales, Olaofe, Fiorini, Powell, Mellon, Adaramola, Knoyle, Stretton, Connolly and Rydel.

I imagine our team will be something like

Hinchliffe/Addai (Challinor giving nothing away)
Mingi Horsfall Pye
Fevrier Collar- Bate- Bailey Touray
Wootton Diamond

It's actually still a decent eleven. Barry, Camps and Sam Hughes the only other senior outfield players fit and not sure Barry match fit enough to start. The rest of the bench will be youngsters unless we bring someone in before the weekend.
Wow! That's a hell of a list!!

Only Mullin out for us as far as I know, no real idea on the starting XI, PP has a lot of choices and we can probably infer a lot from the team in the last friendly.

Big Arthur in goal
Defence, three from O'Connor, O'Connell, Cleworth, Scarr and Brunt (expect the first three).
Wing backs, one to start from Barney/Bolton and the other on after 60mins, McLean on the other side.
Midfield, expect Lee and Cannon plus probably Dobson, leaving Evans and Jones out.
Marriott will start up front, hopefully with Fletcher for an hour with Palmer on later...Parky likes Dalby though.

Bench could easily be: GK, Scarr, Brunt, Revan, Bolton, Jones, Palmer.

We’re heading into our game very light in numbers which certainly isn’t ideal against a side probably still buzzing from promotion, draw would be handy with the current circumstances.

Shame knoyle is injured, quality player on his day who done exceptionally well for us.

Stockport always start slowly all though I imagine so will Gary Gardner.

My team to start the season at Edgley Park (I was last there in December 1968) would be:

Stevens
Bennet, Ibsen Rossi, Morrison, Watts, Andrew
Kaikai, Kachunga, Smith, Brophy
Lavery

I expect Mr Monk will be more creative in his selection

Stockport always start slowly all though I imagine so will Gary Gardner.
Gary Gardner not yet match fit, along with Jordan Cousins, Ryan Loft, George Hoddle and long term Mamadou Jobe and George Thomas on our injury list.

Expecting 2-4 in before the end of the month. Hoping but not expecting that one might be on the bench.

Best news (or possibly worst depending who comes in) is we still haven't allocated squad number 9.

So here we go again, our squad is improved but painfully thin especially up front. More to come in, up to four we are told but can’t see any coming in for Sat as it sounds like back to the drawing board after losing 2 signings right at the death to ‘ the big boys’. Wonder if we will find out who they were. Anyway to the game, absolutely no idea ! Our defence and midfield are decent and we have pace on the counter, so given Stockport’s penchant for a slow start I can see us nicking a one nil win, but I have absolutely no faith in this so, 2-1 to County the likely outcome. Sold about 750 for this which is not wonderful, but Sky have royally bummed leagues one and two over kick off times and tv, so I guess we can’t complain if our away support for this one is sub 1k . I was hoping this game would be later in the season for me as it’s a new ground on my list but sadly not to be and I’ll have to miss it.

Jack Sparkes was one of them. Apparently all the media stuff was done and then we got done over in the final hour.

Not a clue about our starting 11 after today. Evatt has said our injury list is getting much better but one or two are not match ready including George Johnston who has already been in and had a heated conversation as he is chomping at the bit to be involved. Anybody who has seen his first tackle back after 12 months out injured will know he leaves nothing behind. Schol and Arfield will be the only new players to start. I doubt our starting 11 Saturday will look anything like in the first week of September.

How long is Mullin out for?
He's had 1 training session so far. So I'd imagine he won't be involved for the first couple of games. He's seems to recover from things fairly quickly to be fair so wouldn't be a shock to see him on the bench this weekend (more hope then anything).
We really are toothless without him

And of course no guarantee he’ll get 15-20 goals this season at this level.

Not a guarantee as he's never really played consistently at this level. He's clearly not going to be as prolific up here but I still think he'll get a minimum of 15 league goals though, he's too good not to.

I’ll wait and see how many are missing by the line up tomorrow night but I predict around 7 but some of those missing are massive.

Including Kilgour, Hewitt, Maris, Oates, Cargill at the minimum.

Three of those are defenders, at least two would 100% start, and we’ve not replaced Brunt so we are going in this season defensively way worse off.

Take it all in mate, and enjoy.

The dithering in defence is concerning me, whereas obviously he’ll get someone in that works, we can’t be relying on bowery and akins in defence this season, simply a no no.

Well today’s the big day. The first league 1 game in 2 decades.

Reckon we’ll get battered tonight, but will be a class day either way.

Challinor doling out harsh punishments for under performing in training.

Mate works for SKY. He reckons they're deploying over 100 cameras around all League One grounds this division. 70% will be focusing on Ian Evatt tomorrow if he goes 1 down at Orient. He has spent an awful lot, I can see why there's so much pressure on the former Barrow man.

Looks as though we may have a couple of injuries in key positions.

Dion Conroy (club Captain) centre back but more worryingly Jay Williams and his understud

y Gavin Holohan. I don't feel safe with a loanee, Bragg, as defensive midfield so it may be we move Malone there from lb.

Still only one forward too.

In the preview, Lindsey saying what a good side Blackpool are but also looking forward to his team stepping up. Damn sight more confident than I am.

Apart from Jordan Graham and Theo Archibald, we will have a fully fit squad to choose from more or less.

If we're to get anything from the game Agyei and Kelman will both need to be at it, we'll likely have a spell of 20-25mins with the ball in the game as we usually do but unless we can make that count I think Boltons firepower will get them over the line.

Omar Beckles and Dan Happe will start as ur CBs, big season for Beckles as he will need to be consistent or he will likely be moved on next year.

Hoping our January signing Ollie O'Neill can continue his good form since his arrival in January.

Darren Pratley looking like he will be a squad player this year with Lewis Warrington and Jordan Brown the preferred midfield pairing.
