One for all, all for one, that's the Aspin ethos and the secret of our success. :woot:

If you are such a tight bunch, you would think he would have checked all of his players were on the coach before setting off though ;)

Aspin was alright, but your coaching staff were quality, real good blokes who were up for a laugh. They also told us some stories about what's going on with the RL mob and and the council, and the money that disappeared. Certainly changed my opinion of Halifax when you hear they are not just fighting in the league but off the pitch with the council too.
Good post and I agree, the club is fighting on a lot of fronts, they've come a long way in a short time and new challenges are thrown at them all the while, not least the heartbreaking death of their highly successful commercial manager the other week. Our club past and present, has always had to fight tooth and nail. One reason why the fans, though few, tend to be fanatics. :box:

You were fortunately too apparently. Your first goal came from a very dubious pen?
Yeah it was a very harsh decision and your right we probably were fortunate but at least we did not lose to them and now can go 7 points clear if we win that game in hand.

You've got to wonder why some of our best players/staff stay with us at times.

We're making money without subsequently spaffing it away for the first time ever, providing a springboard for great players starting low down (Jamie Vardy at Leicester, Lee Gregory at Millwall, Scott Hogan at Brentford, Simon Eastwood at Blackburn), and we're very slowly building some semblance of an infrastructure.

Then we have crowds that haven't changed throughout Aspin's six-year tenure, owners of the rugby club attempting to ruin us, and a council that won't step in due to fear of our egger friends and for "austerity" reasons. Our run in's tricky on a horrid home pitch and the only party who haven't ruled out investing in it are us. I don't think we'd be much better if the council and rugby stopped hampering us, but postponements make it harder financially and to support the club.

I'm fortunate that I get to meet and speak to most of the coaching staff of visiting clubs, it really does give you a 'behind the scenes' idea of what is happening around the league that, generally, fans don't get to hear. It gives you a great respect of some clubs that on the surface of it, people don't have much time for. What I will say though, is the cameraderie between clubs in the non-league is much tighter than the FL, alot of them are far more up their own arses, whilst the non-league boys tend to get on and respect each other far more.

I for one hope Halifax go up through the play-offs, not because I like them more over anyone else, it's just so they can thrive and stick two fingers up at the bastards that seem to be performing any dirty trick they can to make them fail and go tits up, just so the council and the grubby shithouses at the eggers can get their hands on the Shay.

That has to be one of the nicest things I've seen any opposition fan say of us! Glad you speak so these folk and it's equally good to hear that your impressions are mostly good of these people. With football the way it is, it's encouraging that there are some honest people in the game who are amicable with their rivals. Did you chat with a squat kit man with dodgy blonde ringlets?

I think promotion for us now would be a bigger turnaround than it was this time two years ago, when we had about half the season left to play at this point and sub-1000 midweek crowds. Now we're playing very tough teams, have a difficult run-in and worst of all plenty of fans who feel it should be a breeze for us somehow. It'll take some work for the council to appreciate what a sound club they deal with, and even more for the eggers to realise they're screwing over a set of people they should, if I'm honest, be grateful of having by their side.

To be fair to the eggers though, they're the biggest set of freeloading wankers you could ever wish to meet. :box:
