We are giving you all a chance...

In all seriousness though we’ve gone off the boil big time, the side that looked so polished in September has lost it’s way, injuries haven’t helped we had a fair few missing again but Askey hasn’t helped himself with some clangers.

Big games next week and we need to get a rocket for them. Games that tend to suit us against sides that will be more open against us so hopefully that can end our form.

Squad is good enough to be up there but as I’ve said before we’ve all seen Mansfield and Notts Co in recent years to know it’s not always a guarantee.
I’d really love to know what’s good about your squad, bar Smith and Gibbons, it’s a load of mediocre dross that has sort of gelled enough over a period of time to do well enough in the 4th tier (or has it). Then again I’m a Crewe fan so I’m used to a much higher standard.

The team that's top has a minus goal difference.

This fucking league.

Weird side Morecambe, looked very poor and played us so negatively it was like setting up San Marino against Brazil but defended well and nabbed the chance they got.

Not sure they can sustain it, they’ve played us when we are at our worst, Southend and Oldham who are poor but did in fairness get a good win at Cheltenham.

Pretty embarrassing for our owners that we have a quality defender sitting at home in David Wheater, while conceding goals left and right, but scoring enough to win games...

Conor McAleny alone now on 8 goals for the season in all comps, including 7 in his last 4.
L2: 1 vs Crawley, 2 at Colchester, 2 vs Morecambe
Carabao Cup: 1 vs Carlisle
Trophy: 2 vs Wolves U21

Yes of course you are... haven’t struggled many seasons over the past ten have you.

It’s a decent squad for this division that should compete.

Can tell you’ve won a game, haven’t heard you pipe up for a while.

Yeah it’s called not living on this forum, we’ve won a few games in the league above you, as well as a promotion, covid can’t stop us. Just thought I’d pipe up considering the El Blancos haven’t scored in 3 games against HARROGATE, MORECAMBE and Carlisle (not capitalised because they’re alright, but not as good as us).

Well Evatt honeymoon period is well and truly over that was woeful...Crawford plays shite Bolton play shite.
Santos is growing week by week, Tutte is excellent and Mascoll played three decent games running.
Hickman is knackered after 60 mins, but offers us something going forward. Bizarre substitutions today.
Baptiste replaced Hick man, Comley, Tutte and Gordon Mascoll.......Fuck right off
The pace of the game is like a training game.
One or two said Evatt would be gone before christmas...I called Bollox
Top and bottom of it his signings are simply not good enough.

At least I know Tylerthevirgin or whatever he’s called won’t be having a pop tonight with his arrogant enjoy the conference mockery.

I won’t gloat after a win because most Vale fans on here are alright and things can change very quickly.

Whilst Morecambe's win against us was decent, they only got the win by us gifting them a penalty and then them catching us chasing the 3 points in injury time.

As for today, I agree with Casey. Crawley came to defend and hope to catch us out. They nearly did when Nichols put a free-header over the bar from 5 yards out, but that aside Cheltenham were comfortable.

I'm raging though, I put some pennies on Will Boyle being first scorer. He definitely scores, Skybet record it as him scoring, but they've now changed it to an og. Not impressed!!

You’ve won 2. Both against sides we’ve comfortably seen off in the past year. Anyone half decent has comfortably beaten you.

Harrogate were decent, we’ve had a few poor games. Sure over 46 (we won’t get a gift after 37/38) we will discover where we sit in the rankings of League 2.

Nice to see you trainspotters are still obsessed though.

You see that people!! This is what I’m saying! He just called Vale, Brazil. Did you see my post a page earlier? Point proven, they’re deranged the Burslum lot.

This is what the Vale lot are like, the most basic 4th tier stuff = Brazil.

My sole purpose on this forum is to get up the back of Vale fans and to correct their delusion.

I’ll be back in 5 months.

Edit: “anyone half decent has beaten you”

We’ve undeservedly lost to Hull and Charlton, after being better in both games with a big injury list. 2 teams who were in the championship last season and didn’t stop playing until July or August (don’t remember), when we stopped when the season was halted. You are empty in the head.

Another week, another game without a win.

There’s just nothing there

No tactics
No chasing
No idea
No clue
No hope
No goals
No wins
No plan B

this side with this manager will go down.

You'd best get a move on or Bolton will have it sewn up.

Quite a few of your players looked well off today, our midfielders didn't even have to work to win the ball back. Is Joyce carrying a knock? He told our commentators before they were announced that he wasn't in the starting line-up, seems you could really have done with a Joyce type player today who would just add a bit of class and experience in midfield.

Yeah I’m totally wound up by a Crewe fan rambling on. Couldn’t even beat us when we really were really shit bar the 10 man win or when you were “good”.

Dare say we will be back beating you again in a season or two if you manage to stay up of course.

Really relying on Southend and Oldham going out of business to keep us up this season
The aim was always to survive this season for me but improvements required if we're going to manage that.
The Robins will be up there this season. We will be looking over our shoulders.
this side with this manager will go down.

Now now, a bit of positivity please fellas. In any case, you can't all go down.

No idea why Joyce was out, both times we’ve lost at home since April 2019 were with him missing, as he keeps us ticking over.

Didn’t realise you had Callum Guy to be honest, good player we had in League One on loan. He had the freedom of Vale Park today!

We usually play Joyce, Conlon and Oyeleke ideally and none started today, despite two of them being available! They’ve got carried away by Wigan but I’d argue defensively Carlisle are far better than Wigan at present!

We started the game really well, had one off the line, the header and a few decent half chances but seemed to just fade as it went on really.

Credit to Carlisle though, defended well and had a go at us which is more than some sides have done and got the reward.

Southend simply didn't deserve 3 points from that, they played some of the most defensive uncreative football I've seen in years. On another day we would have hammered them.

For some reason we had an off day up front and despite the ref trying to gift them 3 points, justice was eventually done. Southend fans might feel a bit salty because they know the ref won't help them like that every week.

History tells us the shitter team always wins Crewe - Vale, form goes out the window and Vale try their socks off. Well done though, remind me, who was top of the league when the season ended.

You’ll be no where near us with that insipid, uninspiring drone of a manager, unless you sign a few more ex Crewe players. You can take Ainley if you like? You’d be calling him Maradonna within a fortnight.

You have a point though, it will be a challenge avoiding relegation in the championship next season.

David Wheater would walk into most sides in this league. It would be bizarre if it wasn’t for Lemsagam owning your club. Feel sorry for you fellas.

After today's win I am convinced that we could do well this season so long as there are no further injuries.

Crawley manager John Yems met Trevor Kettle today. I dont think he was impressed. He and Lee Bradbury (his assistant) got booked for swearing during the game and Yems was sent off after the final whistle. The red card was shown, according to Yems, with a happy smile and the comment "There you go, you got what you wanted".

To be fair to Mr Kettle his usual bizarre incompetence didn't have an bearing on the result today but it is easy to see why managers and players lose their rag with him.

You are around 5ish games too early, I get the emotional response like, not winning since March is very testing.

he has to remain until to November, so he’s had a fair crack with what he’s took in, sadly there isn’t one promising sign currently

Our commentators found it hilarious that Yems and Bradbury got booked whilst Duff was clearly the more vocal of the two dugouts.

To be fair to Kettle, he did give Yems a final warning with about 10 mins to go, so maybe Yems really did want his red.

He's a funny one is Kettle - I've never seen him do anything ludicrous in Cheltenham games, but he does baffling little things. Earlier for example, he played a fantastic advantage when a Crawley player was pulling on our player's shirts to attempt to halt the counter. The attack petered out and everyone watching assumed the Crawley player would be booked. No booking came. A Cheltenham player questions this and ends up getting booked instead.

I am not happy with the striking combinations he is choosing, our attacking approach play, the sloppy errors, the results so far or how low our heads appeared today. However, I disagree that there isn't one promising sign currently. He has tackled issues in the dressing room, has not hesitated to bring in his own players, and we are much fitter than last year. The scale of the job is maybe being underappreciated by Stagsnet and social media. It's a shame he didn't start with maybe a win, three draws and one loss. That might have afforded a little more patience. I think he will turn it around, but not in a timeframe that's acceptable to the fan base.

I think it’s fair that he’s got a lot of work to do, and somethings have gone against him, but theres serious flaws, today was horrific, and in fairness Stevenage should have won the game they were the better of the 2 teams despite us becoming marginally less shit in the 2nd half.

The progress made under him last season and so far in this is minimal which is what’s leading to concern amongst our fans - however excitable they are - if the performances suggested there was something around the corner and were unlucky also fair enough, but our performances and luck don’t indicate anything is around the corner.

he should be afforded the luxury of time, but his god awful football doesn’t endear him to the fans either, todays performance was a testament to that, like Exeter in the last home game, at times it was eye wateringly bad.

5 home games without a win also hasn’t helped his cause.

He needs to shape up like now or ship out.

GC post-match interview today might give him less room to bargain with the Radfords.

We definitely have a bit of a rift between the manager and those above him due to selling Rose.
