A bit smash and grab there... I mean I think from listening to the radio we were the better team until we scored, but not afterwards and snatched the win there a bit against the run of play... but these are the sort of wins we need.

Good point up at Barrow. Dire game. Our quality out wide was shocking.

Finished 1-1 between us and Newport. Poor performance again. The team needs freshening up.

Happy with the win at Colchester, even happier that I didn't go

What a kick in the knackers that was, fell asleep and got done by a quick corner, thought we played really well in parts but lost all attacking impetus when Cooke was hoiked for Featherstone at 1-0.

Playing much better under Askey but need to turn these draws to wins desperately.

Hughes channelling his inner Gary Bowyer in these last two games. Seemingly happy with a point to lower mid table sides whilst carrying underperforming/fatigued players is not what a promotion chasing side should be doing.

A proper 0-0 there, not much more to be said. It's been a nice feeling going to games in recent weeks without feeling any nervousness or pressure. Our target of being on the beach in March fully achieved.

Elsewhere, hellogregory is about to have the best kip he's ever had, with Carlisle extended the gap over the bottom four to 35 points. In all seriousness, seems like they just needed to get rid of the bad eggs they had in their football management setup.

What a win, and totally unexpected.

After a decent first 50 where I thought it was pretty even and never really felt a goal was coming either way apart from a couple of close offsides. Jack Armer then swings his right foot (he’s all left foot) and puts one in the top corner and suddenly we’re leading. Amazing.

Then Swindon start to play and absolutely batter us for half an hour, like we couldn’t string two passes together, they got the deserved equaliser and it looked like only one team was going to win. We looked like we just wanted the full time whistle so we could go home with a hard fought point.

Then in the 96th minute we got a corner… Ryan Edmondson found himself totally unmarked on the back post. Easy header, 3 points. Probably not quite what we deserved but absolutely massive result ahead of the Stevenage game next week.

First half performance was much better from us, actually having the ball on the deck and playing some decent football. Second half we reverted to type a bit and it became a bit rash and clumsy whilst launching the ball clear. Fell asleep for the quick short corner and it’s cost us.

On the face of it a point today isn’t a bad result but the Crawley game has made it a right kick in the bollocks

I watched the game and I wouldn’t say we were much the better team. I had it pretty even with neither team looking that likely to score. I suppose as an away team you could say it was a good away performance nullifying the home team. It actually had the hallmarks of the Wimbledon game, looked like a 0-0 was playing out until Armer’s goal woke them up. To nick it at the end was brilliant, but I’d imagine they’ll feel like they didn’t deserve the defeat.

Sowerby off injured after getting a whack from a Hartlepool defender
I’d have to see it again but I think Murray was very lucky there to be fair. From my angle it looked like he clocked him with a bit of a forearm smash. I maybe wrong but definitely could’ve been a red on another day

Have seen a clip of it on Twitter and like you say it’s a forearm smash. Thing is, ref gives a yellow so he’s clearly seen it, so it has to be a red. Pretty bizarre and obviously had some force behind it as Sowerby had to come off.

Looked like a red for me mind I was all the back in the Town End, thought he played well today, that was the only blip from him

Feels like a defeat defended well all game and then that FFS. Competed well against a good side, they did deserve the draw but we can't afford to let things slip like that.

Whatever happens this season, I'd back us to do alright if Askey is still in charge. He's already making his mark for me, he's found a midfield that works better and Euan Murray is a completely different player under Askey. There's more football played and we actually put a press on. Not all doom and gloom yet but it's getting squeaky bum now.

Great. I'm gonna spend the next six days trying not to get too annoyed when Hartlepool win 1-0 next week thanks to a Callum Cooke beauty of a freekick.

As soon as I seen it I was convinced he was getting sent.

Just wish we never switched off for that corner because that could’ve been a massive result today

Much better today, first half in particular was the best we've played in a long while.

We were ahead inside 10 minutes, a long ball by Clark, dropped between the last defender and keeper, March outpaced the defender, cut across him and then finished really well to open the scoring. We grabbed a second by the 15th minute, some decent play, Gilbey with a first time pass into the path of Kane Smith who drove into the box and played a lovely ball across the face of goal for Norris who couldn't really miss.

Walsall found a way back into the game in a rather fortuitous fashion, a deep ball into the box caught Kane Smith totally off guard and the ball ricocheted into the path of Monthe who smashed it home from about 3 or 4 yards. It didn't take us too long to restore our two goal advantage, deep free kick into the box, Norris attacked it and helped it up into the air across the face of goal and March met it with a lovely overhead kick that snuck past the keeper. Before the break we went close again with a couple more efforts, one for Taylor, the other for March who wasn't far off a first half hat-trick.

Second half wasn't as good, we had a few half chances but it was Walsall who created the better chances, they missed a couple of really good chances and their fans seemed to think they should have had a penalty for handball but in the end there were no further goals and we saw the game out relatively comfortably. We were pretty fortunate not to end the game with 10 men, so probably got some luck from that standpoint.

All in all a good performance and result to match.

That’s what got us relegated in the early days of Hurst 2. He picked a shambolic squad left by Hollowman, took a few weeks to turn it round and get “us” shape but we just drew too many.

Needed those 3 points given results elsewhere. Can't say I'm exactly looking forward to Walsall away next Saturday given my record in the last eight games I've attended is one draw and seven defeats...

How cringe are the people who run the twitter over at Northampton, posting two stills of the 'incidents' that frustrated the manager today, get a fucking grip and stop whittle arsing on, every team every season has to put up with bad calls, it's football, get on it with.

:woo:

We actually looked like a football team!

Jordan Mutch' s goal was a real, proper piece of football with passes and everything!

Ah shit! That's that hope thing knocking.

Harrogate are not the worst team I've seen (apart from us) and we thoroughly deserved to win that.

As an aside the Harrogate players sending of is a piece of stupidity worthy of the tinpot thread. Already on a yellow, taking a throw on, he deliberately throws the ball at our forward. 2nd yellow and off.

Probably just a follow on from last weeks decision, they don’t usually mention stuff like that. Plus it’s a nice distraction from the wheels falling off our promotion bid.

Deserved a point. Carlisle complete opposite of Orient last week - but effective. Fantastic turn out from their fans.

What has happened to Joss Labadie? is he injured or has flynn froze him out like he did here.

It closed down just about a month ago. Probably just the admin not having time for it any more or something, nobody wanting to take over... there's a facebook group Be Just and Fear Not which has most of the fan banter on it these days.
The most pretentious forum name I've ever seen. Typical Carlislians.

Just seen the equaliser back, furious man. I can’t believe we have switched off and fallen for that, fine margins like that can be huge at this stage of the season

Enjoyed the game today!! disappointed we did;nt win in the end but would have taken a point before the game. its been the same story for us all season we make chances but got no one to put them away, if andy cooke had been playing for us we would have won comfortably i have got sympathy for the bradford keeper who got caught out because some dipshit did;nt paint out the rugby 22mtr line so a yellow card was correct it was never a red, whats worrying for me is if you take away Bogles penalty's our 2 centre halves are our top scorers
