Yeah I much prefer the unofficial Hartlepool motto, "We Know Our Place"
Its right we do know our place, But like most Lge 2 clubs(not pointing thre finger at Bradford like) we all believe
we should be higher, Like the Mighty BRovers.

The fans certainly aren’t going by the forums. If we’d been able to invest in players the same extent as you in the January window, probably a top 7 side.

Half is a slight exaggeration. We were missing 3 regulars in Davies, Morris and Hemmings, while had Brad Walker not been so injury prone, he’d be starting.
More telling was the lack of squad depth, only able to name 5 subs, all of whom were either young or inexperienced.
We were also missing Lewis.

There is no way we were going to trouble a League Two defence with the forward line we had yesterday. Henmings is the only striker we have who is vaguely competent.

'If we could have strengthened like Gillingham'. If me auntie was me uncle.....

Deserved a point. Carlisle complete opposite of Orient last week - but effective. Fantastic turn out from their fans.

There's no time for passing it around at the back 'philosophies' in this league for your lot mate especially in the last minute of injury time.

Tut tut.

In fairness we had to invest, if not we were heading out of the league probably with a record low points haul but definitely with a record low goals scored tally. 23 games 12 points and 6 goals tells you that, thank fuck the new owners came in when they did.

I thought your defence looked a little short yesterday, much different to the normal giants we’ve played this season, but you played some nice stuff at times without ever really testing our defence. I can see why you’re in the chasing pack for the playoffs but it was quite clear that you lacked a creative midfielder type and a clinical striker, sort those areas out and you’d be much much higher up the table.

Oh and I thought your following approaching 300 considering the weather and the distance etc was bloody marvellous, kudos to them all.

Lewis who didn’t make the bench 6 weeks ago is hardly a regular in normal circumstances.

I’d agree that our attacking options were thin, particularly when you factor in that only Hawkes of the midfield quartet has scored for us. All the more disappointing then that the defence, who’ve generally been decent made individual and collective errors for both of the Gills goals.

Think you’re actually agreeing with me, despite the sarcasm. If we’d had the same capacity to strengthen in the window as Gillingham, we’d have been up the table. I’ve been realistic on seeing the results of the January window that our main aim was to secure L2 status for next season and always felt talk of play-offs was at best very optimistic because of a lack of squad depth.

Lewis would have played yesterday. He is actually better at centre forward than any of the three who did feature (excepting possibly Saunders in general play) despite being a midfielder, which says it all.

Agree Lewis might have played, if fit yesterday. He hasn’t been a regular this season and unsure he’s got a league goal this campaign. Unlikely on what’s been seen that he’d have made much difference.

Just seen our highlights. The Mutch goal has had some of the passing removed so it isn't as good there. Mind you I've been starved of anything this season. It was a straight red for their player at the end...Still stupid though.

Couldn’t agree more. It’s what comes from having such a young, inexperienced squad. Hopefully, with this season under their belts we should see a bit more ‘nous’ next season.

I hear the Swindon announcer was singing 'Oh Harry McKirdy' at one point. The BBCRC commentators weren't impressed with him and Lummy was joking about going onto the pitch to shut him up, complaining they couldn't hear each other talk over his voice. You couldn't hear what he was saying on the radio though, all sounds very cringe.

We don't hate McKirdy... he hates us. He probably hates Swindon now too cos that's how the lad's mind works. We just think that ironically McKirdy did us a favour cos his performance at BP last season was what saw Millen given the boot and Simmo brought in.

Lads, I'm sorry... if I'd known it would have kicked off like this I never would have said anything.

I promise never to mention Hartlepool again (unless I think it's funny)

He has scored three this season from relatively few appearances, and would have made a substantial difference yesterday. We won at Stevenage a couple of weeks ago with a front pairing of Lewis and Saunders.

Burton and Mumbongo were out of their depth.

I’ve checked and it’s 2 FL goals this season, so on a par with Burton and ahead of Saunders and Mumbongo. Think his height might have helped yesterday, with Hendry’s post match remarks about not knowing where the ball was going to land…

Two goals and an assist at Sutton. Which is more than the combined total for the season of the 'strikers' we had on the pitch yesterday.

I must have hallucinated his excellent performance at Stevenage two weeks ago when we won the game.

Just seen the highlights. So apart from the fact both goals shouldn’t have stood, and the Pools lad should have walked for the elbow, it was another top notch officiating display. Standards are absolutely in the gutter this year.
That’s it in a nutshell. From the premier league and the clowns running VAR all the way down each division. The standard of officiating in this country really is in the gutter. At least one major cock up / talking point in every game.

Think Joe Murphy our veteran keeper got the fans MoM in that game.

Yes, because none of the outfield players contributed when we won at the team second in the league ?

Lol.

Lewis would have improved our chances yesterday and I am not sure why you are tying yourself in knots over this relatively trivial point.

O’Connor won the penalty and Hawkes converted it. However it’s not unusual for a keeper or defender to get MoM, if the quality of their defensive work keeps our goal intact.

I’ve agreed that Lewis’ height would have made a difference yesterday. He hasn’t been a regular however and the occasional good performance hasn’t made him as big a loss in my eyes as the trio of regulars; Davies, Morris and Hemmings who were also missing this game.

All the above is right, A lot said about Murray who got away with one.
No mention of the lad who Deliberately raked his studs down the inside of Fergies thigh.

Fuck you getting at Forza for? Done nothing wrong the lad.

The stench of boiled piss emanating from Hartlepool shows no sign of subsiding despite many attempts of reconciliation.

We love wacky Hartlepool fans and their fanncy dress. It really does seem a one way street and it makes me sad.
Have Your parents made you sit on the naughty step today or something?
