Bit disappointed to concede another late goal but Eastleigh fully deserved their point overall. Too many draws for us at the moment.

It'll take a miracle to save us now. We were well on top (and hit the woodwork twice) until Hockaday brought off Murphy and completely killed our shape by putting the giant Hassan out wide and hoofing it to Styche.

Southport came for a point and we gifted them three. Think they may struggle.

Weak referee today. At one stage both of Southport's defenders wrestled Hassan to the ground while he was running after the ball and nothing was given.

Oh I see Wrexalona's fans are piping up again. I hear the Racecourse has been as quiet as the Nou Camp in recent weeks....

If we'd kept on losing our attendances might have started being only 1000 more than at sincil bank! Shocking

It sounds like we rode our luck today. Bit scrappy but a huge win to get back on track. Still lots of things to improve on mind.

Made an absolute meal of that as usual, two up and cruising before pretty much gifting them a route back in to it. Burr's changed, get a lead and then don't cross the half way line stuff these days. Just inviting pressure on to ourselves all of the time, to be fair to Halifax they did lift it a bit after going two down.

I'm happy we've won but our tactics are just shocking.

Vanni seems to have a slight obsession with us, not really sure why he gets excited when we fail...

9 wins in a row now against Braintree, pretty comfortable in the end.

That was hard to watch. Worst performance I've seen in a long time. How we are top, I don't know?

Incredible

Another frustrating game on the back of a good result. A 1-1 draw against Welling doesn't look like a bad result, but they offered very little (they scored off about their only attack in the 1st half), we hit the bar, the post and should've had a penalty. Should've been a comfortable win, just like against Altrincham and Halifax, but instead we've gifted them a point.

Could have been worse, you could have gifted them three like we did midweek.

As expected, Wrexham won. Our second choice midfield three didn't create enough. Another stonewall penalty not given to us for the second game in a row - we really are the unluckiest club ever. Looked like we might get something with ten players after Brian Saah got sent off. For some reason Wrexham dropped deeper and stopped passing it for the last 15 minutes. Feels like we should have got something from the game given our penalty robbery and UNRELENTING late pressure despite Wrexham missing about five or six clear cut chances. They were alright, probably enough for the top ten but not a play-off side.

Looking forward to the season ending next week when we lose at Maidenhead in the cup.

Woking were awful with 11, we had a well worked goal and then proceeded to be in relative control. As Sparrow says above once Woking went down 10 they then proceeded to dominate and we just sat deeper and deeper and just lumped it forward.
Couldn't see it too clearly from the opposite end but it did look like a clear Woking pen not given.

I think Eastleigh could feel hard done by. They absolutely battered us second half. We edged the 1st half, but Dillon Phillips definitely earned us a point today.

On the run they're on, will have to see it as a point gained than two dropped, but the draws themselves are becoming a bit of a concern. We can't seem to wrestle the top spot away from FGR. Grimsby a week Friday will be a big game.

7th with a game in hand and players to come back in, could this finally be our season???
Not sure how Braintree have the best defence in the league, they really struggling to cope with us and our our style of play.

Sounds like we dominated today. We'll have no problem if we were to only make the playoffs at the end of the season as we seem to raise our game for the better teams.

2 form teams meet on the white cliffs, I've seen us at 11/4 in some places, the way we're playing at the moment i'll be having a fairly large piece of that!!

Have you picked up those winnings yet

Not to get ahead of ourselves but the signs look good after a really difficult opening eight games, a few softer ones to come in the coming months so a chance to score some more cheap points. Need to directly hurt another current rival in Bromley in a fortnight's time.

Today was a nice throwback to what it used to be like at Plainmoor when we were half decent. Actually seeing some fans in the away end, a pretty good atmosphere in the home and away ends, and an exciting game, if lacking in much real quality.

Could have gone either way to be honest, Grimsby created more than us but that's to be expected when you compare each squad. Full credit to the majority of their fans, shamed by the few who caused a bit of a stir after the equaliser.

One of the big boys out of the way by mid-October, which is nice.

Just got back from the land of veggie burgers. Best performance I've seen from us in quite some time, it should have been 5-0 tbh. Shame we're inconsistent. And to round it all off, Audrey gave the away end a wave upon request!

Boston 2 (Roberts 30,Robbins 75)Alfreton 1 (Jones 45)

How we have lost that I will never know! Absolutely battered them hit the woodwork had a cast iron pen denied and missed countless chances.

Boston were awful. Scored from their two meaningful shots on goal and never even looked like come forward the rest of the time. We will never play so well and lose and they will never play so badly and win again this season.

Got to cut the silly defensive errors out and gifting the opostion goals. If we can do that I think we can cause some really problems as an attacking force to Macc next week.

We ourselves could only name 3 subs inc a GK last week too!

Looking forward to Macc and hoping we have saved our luck for then as we certainly had none today.

TBH, Grimsby is the side that I would like the most to win promotion and go up, as I have big respect for the fans, especially those hundreds that go to away matches. Probably the loudest fans we ever had at The Abbey during our 9 year stint.

But, the fact that your lot have only won 2 away games so far is very poor. And Paul Hurst the one's to blame, as he chooses the way the side sets up. It's simply just not enough to pick up away draws in this league. Only 3 points are acceptable, except when facing strong decent opposition obviously. Take today for instance. Only a point at Torquay. Really? Your squad is so much better than theirs and the only decent result today was a win.

Imo, Hurst is the conference's luckiest manager.

Seem to be a real team unit for the first time in a very long time and that to me is very important. Hawkridge has settled in well when you consider he wasn't with the rest of them during pre-season. A well earned MOTM for him today, have to mention Tempest too very good first start of the season.
Hearn looked sharp and much quicker too and lasted 90 minutes for the first time this season.

Just as long as Audrey doesn't give the away end the clap.

Thought we played well today, 1st half was pretty even and 1-1 was fair at half time. 2nd half we were the better side until Gallagher put in one of his stupid 2 footed challenges that got him (correctly in my view) sent off. After that we defended for a point. That said over the balance of the 90 minutes a draw was probably the fair result.

He's also the only manager in the division who will get criticised a) for consistent top 5 finishes (despite never having the best budget in the division) and b) when his team are on an 11 match unbeaten run with the best goal difference in the division.

Yes dominated from the off really- Taylor Fletcher needs some Grecian 2000 for Christmas, Nors is definately not a CF- he is much better coming through with runs that scare and unsettle the defence for him as well as others to score the goals ahead. Fair play to the lad, glad our best player scored the goal and assist. He did nearly get sent off for fighting with Kelly, but saw sense just in time....
Additionally I am sure Tranmere would like to subscribe to our managers welfare fund for playing our midfield player on the wing and our winger as foreward. Fair play to your support as well, cant think why they sung so much, it was rather a shock to us reading the Guardian, just put us off our stride.
Not sure the oat milk poison has gotten into the dressing rooms, on this showing its just our lads that have to endure its pleasures.....

Not good enough but once again get screwed over by these shit refs and linos in this league, absolute stonewall pen not given for the second time in 5 days which cost us the game. If it wasn't for the refs then we'd have 4 points instead of 1 from these two games, that is a fact. I'm sure it happens to many other clubs but it really is a fucking embarrassment for these incompetent twats to be employed for these games. Also the lino missed probably the most blatant corner i've ever seen for us in the first half and gave a goal kick, the ref looked like he'd overrule the lino but done fuck all once again.

Away from the match officials for a second we had a little chat with Gary Mills after the game, one of the Wrexham players went off in an ambulance for a headache after the game, Gary was just taking the piss out of him, was hilarious.

Taylor Fletcher needs some hair first before he invests in some Grecian 2000!
For the opening 40 minutes this was one of the most one sided games I have ever seen. Tranmere were first to everything.
Wow, what a beautiful part of the country Forest Green is in, never come across anything like this in football before. Wondered where the feck the sat nav was taking me going through Nymphsfield village and on to a pot holed single track road, and then there it was, the New Lawn, the only flat piece of ground for miles around. Even passed some Llama's in a field!
What a good set up FGR is and must be the best playing surface in this league, you could play bowls on that pitch.
Can we play all our away games in Gloucestershire please.
