We face the champions elect™ in our first home game of the season.

Having been legitimately beaten by a reasonable, but not exactly special Wrexham side first time out, it's not that comforting to think we'll be coming up against a generally better quality of player for the Brummies and their expensively assembled squad.

Given the woeful shows on display by (at least) a couple of our players on Saturday, I expect a few changes to be made for the XI this time around, but we'll see.

Anyway - most likely a Brum win. Obvs.

Tbf, that was our entire team from League 2 that started on Saturday (apart from 1 player...) so you should see a BIG difference when Brum roll into town after all their recruitment ...:ohn:

Not really sure what to expect at home to Burton.

We generally faired better away last season in league 2 as teams came to park the bus against us at home and we struggled to break them down, whereas clearly we aren’t one of the top teams in league 1.

I still half expect burton to sit back and try and hit us on the break with pace, but some of the goals conceded in the lincoln game looked a concern for them.

Given the unexpected win at barnsley, it would be a magical chance to get another point or 3 on the board here.

Burtons only an hour away from mansfield up the A38 so would be expecting a thousand or so from burton?

Frazer Blake-Tracey done his hamstring Friday, typical after a impressive debut.

Probably Bowery RB and Akins LB!

Northampton. Usually get them for our last away game so novelty to get them first.
I'm not getting carried away by our first result, we historically fare poorly there so I feat the worst.
Will be camping anyway so find out about it later. Maybe.

Away to Cambridge - this could prove a rather important game come the end of the season.

Following Saturday's performance, the general feeling is a lot more positive around the place but it only takes 1 hammering for that all to dissipate.

The squad are untested away from home so I expect a very different test to Blackpool, who were pretty unremarkable.

I wonder if they will try and waste time all day like they did against us. Maybe not, as the added time they created allowed us to get a winner! :bg:

Ticket sales have gone well I read - would expect 1000 by Saturday.
We seem to play very open, so I expect us to score 2 and concede 2 or 3 again until we get players back from injury and new additions in.
Should be a good game. Be nice to see Lucas again and Nigel. Both club legends for what they did at our club.

1000 is a bit of a annoying figure for us, probably stops us being able to put any home fans in the North Stand and will leave 800 seats empty.

Financially be better if you sold a few hundred less, or even better sell it out!

A much better performance from us last night and if we had beaten QPR 6-2 they could have had no complaints.

I can see this being a high scoring game. How many will you bring down Saturday?

Wycombe Away for blues Saturday.

Would hope to see more signs of the team gelling, Sanderson is out after his red card at Charlton and that pleases me greatly. Klarer to start alongside Bielik.

Stockport County.
Circa 4,000 County fans going to Blackpool. Our first eleven should be decent but we don't have a lot off the bench unless we get a couple back.

Charlton (A). We usually lose by a goal at The Valley so I expect the same again. The new keeper chucked another one in last night so maybe he’ll make it a hat-trick on Saturday.

After ok but not great displays against Wigan and Birmingham, Orient will be a good test to see if we have improved on last season or whether we are destined for midtable mediocrity again. I think Orient are a good side but hope at home we have a bit more attacking intent than we showed at Wigan. It's a shame the game is at 12:30 but at least it's not a long journey for the travelling supporters. So far, we've struggled a bit in the final third Leaburn is still out for a while and it remains to be seen if Godden will be fit to make his debut. I'd like to see Berry start in the 10 with Ahadme and Godden up front (if fit). I'm not really sure if I'm expecting us to win but will be disappointed if we don't

The way we're playing you're probably right, not a chance we keep a clean sheet but we look capable of goals and playing some neat stuff.

Putting 4 past Swindon flattered us last night as their keeper should have saved 2 of them.

I reckon we'll bring about 300.... with the direct Thameslink line there's no excuses.

The only thing that interests me is Byron at 10am club is back open!

Both Maccas played last night at Bolton so hopefully one can slot in at left back to save us having Akins and Bowery at full back

At £27 a ticket I can’t see that happening..
And we have lost 2 on the bounce
Might be less, then you can put us on the side next to that condemned stand

Bring on the 10am club!

Was going to stop at sharps the night before but it’s the 7-38 from oxford road

Scared of the defence, sounds like burton don’t have one either so a high scoring game for me.

We've been a bit open in the first 2 games. Sheff United a good side but we leave far too much space down the side of the back 3. Bolton have the quality too punish us. We struggle away.
4-1
Charles 2, McAtee 1, Collins 1. Cannon with a consolation goal.

I don’t think it was happening at £20 if we are being honest, I do think our prices (among many in the league) are a disgrace mind! I think it goes up to £27 closer to the game.

The condemned stand is being done up! It’s a sell out for Saturday now.

Tough game away at Rotherham. Would be good to grab an unexpected point though and lump some early pressure on Evans

First home game of the season against Barnsley.

We rested eight on Tuesday and brought two others off at HT so tiredness shouldn't be an issue. We're desperately waiting for a LWB and ST to come in, and when you add an unbalanced midfield into the mix because of the Hamilton/McGrandles injuries, then it feels like we're going to have to dig in for the next couple of weeks.

The issues we're having in midfield now in terms of balance are similar to what we had at times last season where we're having to play two attacking midfielders with Erhahon and it just doesn't work because they play too far from each other.

thanks for modding my original "Saturday games only" post which ignored Bolton/Wxm...guess I'll have to get used to having to check for rearranged fixtures given all this new Sky bullshit. oh well...

Home against Exeter. Tom Eaves is still recovering from a calf injury and wont be back until next month. We desperately need another forward in as we look so lightweight up top. Fosu looked really lively midweek (one of the few positives) so hoping he gets a start. See a narrow home loss for us sadly despite our good record at home to Exeter from memory.
