Frustrating afternoon. Should have had the game won by half time, missed some golden chances to sew up the game, then faded very badly after 60 minutes and let Crawley dictate the play till full time. They didn’t really look like winning but took their chance with a great finish when they did get in behind with 5 minutes to go. We were so weak off the bench, whilst they had power and fitness off their bench. Very harsh on us, but Crawley surprised me in how well organised a totally new squad can be after a couple of games and their fitness was superior. Big couple of weeks in the transfer market for us, we need 2 or 3 quality players to make a promising squad competitive .

Didn't deserve to lose I thought, but we faded in the second half and Charlton grew stronger I thought. But despite that clear chances were few and far between, but Berry tucked home at the end after we failed to deal with a long ball.

After we made all the subs it hindered us more, we also had one of those days where we overplay too much in the final third. Mannion in goal didn't really have much to do.

The ref was shocking for both sides, some odd decisions and bookings. The fact that both managers were booked says it all.

Our squad depth against the stronger sides in this league I think is going to hinder us at times.
Too early to tell for sure but looking like the story of our season will be that we are difficult to beat, whilst banking on the odd chance going forward. 2 clean sheets out of 2 after only keeping 5 all season last year.

Neither team were great but the more the game went on the more I felt Orient were happy for the 0-0 and the more I expected Charlton to push

This the reality of league 1, mansfield should’ve put burton to bed many, many, many, times in the first half, but only went in 2-1

That we at one stage we were 3-2 was a piss take, but also our own fault for not hitting the target when through on goal.

I mean how many games has 40 attempts at goal!

Really enjoyed burtons tactics, basically fuck it let’s go for it, made for a really entertaining game.

Ref gave them absolutely every decision

Cant even be arsed to talk about the game because it was so shit.

The ref gave us almost fuck all and Sean Clare should have been sent off. That’s about it.

I’m gradually falling out of love with football and find it so boring and today’s game is a prime example as to why.

Two games in league 1. First for a while. The general speed of play compared to league 2:is glaringly obvious. Cambridge are by no means a bad team (everyone can add a striker) but simple things like the lb playing triangles are so much BETTER.
Two games but at times we're chasing shadows. This is going to be a tough season!

The sky highlights on youtube of todays games are shocking

Crawley vs Harrogate has been titled Crewe 0-5 Chesterfield, the Shrewsbury/Peterborough game has no sound and is missing 2 goals

How do they fuck up so badly

And I’d expect them to give at least one poor bunch of fuckers an absolute pasting at some point. If this season turns up an equivalent of Carlisle from last season, or FGR from a couple of seasons back, then I wouldn’t want to be that team when they face BrBrum.
That could well be us if we have to play Nsiala and Pierre as a centre back pairing for any length of time with both Feeney's injured.

Rossiter feeling his knee prior to the game meant that we set up against Peterborough in 4-1-4-1 formation which for the first 10 minutes looked ok, but then they just tore us to shreds after that. There was a spell in the 2nd half where we could have snatched an equaliser, but didn't deserve anything out of the game.

The hope is that the loan signings will be our creative outlet, but don't get too disheartened, as we could be chasing the ball a lot this season.

You don't want to be relying on Rossiter that much he is a liability

Just his injury record suggests he can't be relied on. Winchester was the only midfielder that offered any sort of assistance to the defence today. It was so easy for Peterborough to walk through today. Admittedly they do have very good forward players.

Disappointed to lose today after leading for so long. But, I think something we’ll come unstuck by is that we’re quite young defensively (other than Sweeney) so naive defending can cost us.

Positives were new signing Doyle looking lively when he came on and we’re looking stronger from attacking set pieces.

We’ve got two tough games coming up though, so losing today was annoying.

Some interesting results being dished up here. As I suspected, Shrewsbury are really struggling. They were worse than us last season and appear to have weakened. Cambridge don't look to have strengthened enough. Burton look like they'll be fine and the promoted teams are acquitting themselves well. Going to be a pretty open league with no huge teams (Bolton about the biggest).

I forgot to add to my earlier post, but why do Barnsley fans chant "USA USA USA". Did it at least 3 times today, very bizarre.

Did you get a decent view of the Darikwa penalty shout, I couldn't quite see because a couple of players ran across my view?

Well they had that fucking revolting shirt last season which was sponsored by US Mobile, is that something to do with it?

Anyway. You’re all fucked and should give up now - apparently if we play Sam Vokes for the full 90 he will get us 8 goals a game, so watch out (having scored 2 goals in 2 from late cameos).

Pretty easy this league 1 lark….in all honesty we’ve played 2 sides that can’t finish for toffee. Got to give it to our defence though, we’re resolute and committed to the cause but we will definitely end up with the highest XG against come the end of the season, even if we don’t go down.
As soon as we come up against someone clinical ( aka Stockport in a few weeks) we will come unstuck.
All in all, absolutely delighted with how this new team have come together so far and we don’t look like getting steam rolled which is the main thing.

You may be right. I saw far too many Barnsley fans in that monstrosity of a shirt today. There were a few in that horrendous pink fluorescent number too.

Looks a defo penalty in Lower 6. Gobsmacked it wasn't given as seemed very clear cut.

Stockport County.
Great away win for us, some great finishes in there. Louie Barry cracked the game open, just as he did last week. He's a player who can do something out of nothing.

Blackpool pressed us well first half I thought but we gradually got more and more confident and started working out where the gaps were and deserved the win. Probably wasn't a 3-0 in "balance of play" but they didn't create anything and we scored 3 very good goals.

Great point at Rotherham, undefeated and no goals conceded in the league.

Worried about our attacking prowess though, looking forward to Martin back hopefully against Stockport away, which is not an easy fixture

Still really annoyed we did not score 5 or 6 yesterday but on the positive we did play some really good football.

We desperately need more defenders fit and improve winning that second ball in the middle of the park.

The combo of Will Evans/Lee Gregory with DKD just behind will be troublesome for anyone, proper threat and we will score a ton of goals again this season.

Watched the FL highlights just now, why are the cameras now the other way at your place? It looked much better when it didn't face the disused stand.

I think yesterday was a better indicator of where we’re at. That we came to within 2 minutes of losing to a limited but pacey burton side was just crazy.

We missed 2 1 on 1s (not even on target) and made some defensive howlers for their 2nd and 3rd goals, but were well worth the point at the very least.

4 points from 6 is a great start.
