We had one of those dreaded ‘back from a break’ performances in the first half, could not string two passes together, did not win a 50/50, just looked tired and slow. It was pretty obvious the only way Stevenage are going to get a goal is via a set-piece and that’s what happened, it was a unstoppable free kick that managed to get a ripple of applause from the stags fans.

Second half was all Stags with Stevenage defending really well and blocking absolutely everything; plus the ball just refusing to drop kindly for us at all. It’d still be 1-0 now if we were playing.

Very frustrating way to lose our streak, but we can only blame ourselves for that first half in which we made it very easy to play their game, which is a bad watch but that was a good efficient away performance from them.

Frustrating game today. Birmingham fully deserved the win, so good on the ball and quality finishes. A step above.

We score within first minute from first attack. Knew Birmingham would come back strong. We had better of opening 10-12 minutes. Birmingham then started to find their feet and a neat finish sees them equalise quickly afterwards. They had all the ball first half, but apart from May's long range shot hitting the post, didn't test Wickens.

2nd half, they score within first 10 minutes and assume game over.

However we make a raft of changes and take the game to Birmingham. Get a penalty, if we score it's a completely different game. Made wrong decision giving it to Hackett, he just came on and first touch to miss the pen.

Game fully open as searched for an equaliser, Birmingham found the 3rd. Very clinical. Can't help but think what if we scored that pen ...

Great to have such depth in the team and looking forward to Hackett, Hamilt9n and Ring all being a big part of the team going forward.

Fair play to the Birmingham fan in Upper 7 who got found out. He'd not have known but it's not really the place to be as an undercover away fan, he got absolutely battered.
Ouch!!

It's all banter tbh...we've also got a lot of English fans, being so close to the border!

Rothrum fans being very testy saying we're the worst team they've had there so far!
Uhm, but we won, so doesn't say a lot for you does it? It's an away performance typical of us though tbh..let them have the ball and try & hit them on the break...thing is, it was after 17 secs this time.

We defended like a team and give everything tbf. It's Parky's way of amassing the points and it's done OK for us so far I'd say!

We're totally different at home though....

The fans of pretty much every single team we've beat this year have said we are rubbish. Also us, Mansfield and Stockport are going to struggle with the step up this year, remember....Long may it continue.

I haven't heard any Millers fans saying Wrexham were the worst team we've played but no doubt there will be some think that.

I thought getting off to a flyer was a massive help to you but defensively you looked very composed and were quick to challenge for every ball and also quick to turn it into attack.

You looked like a team that's played together successfully for a while, we look like a team trying to work out one another's strengths after introducing so many new players.

We are still a way off achieving much this season but we deserved a point today and hopefully we will get better as the season progresses, we were definitely lightweight up front today without JCH.

Hopefully in March it might be me going home happy.

Think today is one of those where you hold your hands up and say well done.

Stevenage did a number on us and we didn’t really know what to do to combat the threat. similar to what we did to blackpool the last home game, the only shame is the free kick leading to the goal was never a foul.

Bit pissed but in short a fair result

Such a similar game as the previous 4, first half we're generally ok and control the game, but any good chances we get, we don't take. Agyei and Kelman again the guilty parties.

Second game in a row we concede just after the restart, confidence gets hit and our second half was poor and again we offered very little in the final third, Northampton should've got a second on at least 3 occasions as well and ran out deserved winners.

That was more or less a 100% fit squad as well for us, minus Sean Clare who is now out until January which is a huge blow for us.

The reality is, the signings of our attacking players are the reason we will go down at this rate, Perkins, Jaiyasemi and Donley have offered nothing to our team, the fact that Wellens brings on 40 year old Darren Pratley ahead of Perkins at the end says it all. Too much Pressure on Galbraith, Kelman and Agyei who cannot do it all themselves.

We are going to do very well to stay up.

Plenty saying it on your forum. Maybe a lot of Cope on display after a disappointing result at home.

Lose Tuesday and Saturday and Robinson is out. I’m hoping.
We play well in patches but are absolutely dreadful at the back. Like non league standard. Scarborough will turn us over at this rate.

The issue mansfield has is that we’ve done stupid fans, mainly those who post on stagsnet.

Apparently speaking the truth that stevenage were the better side and dominated the game (which they did his treason.

Not allowed to speak the truth without someone a bit special saying you’re wrong.

I’ve been cautious all along but some in our fan base have got giddy and ahead of themselves but saw their arse when we’ve lost.

That’s how football works.

Pretty miserable game at Sixfields. Northampton are their usual Land Of The Giants hacking it about looking for set pieces and flick-ons. Orient playing plenty of pretty football and unwilling to pull the trigger. All fart, no poo from us as usual. 1-0 defeat incoming, no doubt.

I’m… I’m so startled right now.

Adam it’s complete nonsense to suggest they dominated the game, they spent the entire second half backs against the wall, which admittedly they did fantastically, and I’ve got no issue with saying they deserved it. We had an off game and the difference ultimately was just a worldie of a free-kick.

But Stevenage will not dominate anyone in this division, they are not that sort of team, they are an extremely limited offensive side with a very good shape and with it good defence. It was a crap game to lose but it just was never going to fall for us in that second half, and even if it did I reckon they would have put a block in!

I think with our new formation 352 we will struggle to a bit when we go behind, we still create chances and enough of them overall but not the same amount we did last season which is due to the step up, losing DKD and the new shape, that being said if we played like we did in the second half for he entire game you back us to score.

Bit lively on the high street after the game.
A group of Birmingham 'fans' caused a fair bit of mayhem around the Shakespeare pub and some tried to go towards the pub I was in too, the millers.
Pity as I was with a load of blue noses pre match in the still and they were great.

Beat the imps 1-3 another great start for blues 1 down after a minute. From that moment we looked to control the game and at one point we had 81 % possession, not that we were banging the door down but we had control.

Thor Willumsson scored a good team goal but the penalty gave Lincoln a way back in to the game, thankfully was missed and Keshi bagged the decisive goal.

Liked the look of Lincoln played well without the ball if that makes sense, threw themselves at everything, could be a good bet for a play off spot.

For us a good response to the set back v Charlton, Big game v Bolton on Tuesday, on we go.

Without doubt the best side we've seen down here in League 1, better than the likes of Sunderland, Sheff Wed, Derby etc. Always going to be a tough ask, but pleased with our desire and taking it to you 2nd half.

I saw no issues on the train in or out and must have missed everything on the High street then, i was further down in Stack. A few Birmingham fans in who were told to cover up by the bouncers.

Thought the ref was really poor in a non obvious kinda way tbh. He got all the big fouls right (bar the penalty for us which is an absolute farce) but every single time a Huddersfield player went down he fell for it, but we couldn’t buy the same sort of foul. It was just momentum killing, they played him beautifully

Not that it mattered, we looked bottom 6 L2 team at times

Enjoyed my visit to Rotherham. Was expecting to arrive at an industrial estate, knowing it was a new ground, only to find it in the town centre with some proper pubs around. Rotherham fans were sound as well.

Thought we were excellent second half, playing some good football.
