Thought the ref was really poor in a non obvious kinda way tbh. He got all the big fouls right (bar the penalty for us which is an absolute farce) but every single time a Huddersfield player went down he fell for it, but we couldn’t buy the same sort of foul. It was just momentum killing, they played him beautifully

Not that it mattered, we looked bottom 6 L2 team at times
Yeah we didnt deserve anything, but sometimes you get what you dont deserve, and the ref not seeing a lot of key moments denied us that.
Sousa almost had his shorts ripped off when through on goal

Enjoyed my visit to Rotherham. Was expecting to arrive at an industrial estate, knowing it was a new ground, only to find it in the town centre with some proper pubs around. Rotherham fans were sound as well.

Thought we were excellent second half, playing some good football.
It's always nice to hear a positive post from away supporters, thank you for taking the time to say so.

Obviously we will have our share of knobheads like most clubs but in general away fans are greeted with respect and are made to feel welcome.
There are some "home only" pubs it pays to avoid but there are many other pubs that allow fans to mingle with little to no trouble.

We were lucky to get a well designed new build so close to the town centre, in fact it's 1/4m nearer than Millmoor.
Which incidentally has been refurbished to a degree by the family of the original owner and is now being used by local youth teams and ladies teams.

I hope we can come and get our own back in March but good luck for the rest of the season.

Adam it’s complete nonsense to suggest they dominated the game, they spent the entire second half backs against the wall, which admittedly they did fantastically, and I’ve got no issue with saying they deserved it. We had an off game and the difference ultimately was just a worldie of a free-kick.

But Stevenage will not dominate anyone in this division, they are not that sort of team, they are an extremely limited offensive side with a very good shape and with it good defence. It was a crap game to lose but it just was never going to fall for us in that second half, and even if it did I reckon they would have put a block in!

I think with our new formation 352 we will struggle to a bit when we go behind, we still create chances and enough of them overall but not the same amount we did last season which is due to the step up, losing DKD and the new shape, that being said if we played like we did in the second half for he entire game you back us to score.

Some on stagsnet didn’t agree, mainly that hoffmeister but that given that poster disagreed reaffirmed confidence i was right.

They did exactly to us what we did to blackpool the week before and were full value for the win, it’s no go at the players or the manager we were just out-thought and outfought on the day.

+1 on the Rotherham away day. They've done a good job with that ground.

It's better than most but can be a bit steep if you've had a few.
It's hard to believe it's now 12 years old.

Night and day compared to Millmoor

Millmoor was a bit of a dump but at least the away fans had a roof over their heads in the Railway End and you could make a lot of noise in there.
The open toilets were a special treat.

I've still got a scar on my arm from climbing over the barb wire fence when I was a kid and didn't have enough money to pay to get in one Tuesday night match.

Millmoor lost its magic when they had to put the seats in the Tivoli End, it ruined the atmosphere.
I know some fans look back on Millmoor as always being home but TBH I like where we are now.

Millmoor to me just makes me think of Chris Greenacre scoring a worldie.

Makes me think of Ronnie Moore, Rodney Fern, Tony Towner, Bobby Williamson, and Dave Watson but more importantly - hot pork pies with runny jelly scalding your mouth, Bovril and tomato sausage rolls.

I have some good and not so good memories from games we've played at Millmoor. Late 80's and early 90's were always feisty off the field. That walk down past the scrapyard with broken glass on top of the walls either side was an eye opener and then after the games you could always guarantee coppers rushing past in the opposite direction to deal with skirmishes! A good atmosphere by both sets of fans were always guaranteed. Oh and the meat and potatoe pies were top notch there!

Grimsby away end is still covered with the broken glass on the walls, only place I can think of!

It was the walk through the scrapyard that sticks in the memory the most to me. A proper old school ground in both good and bad senses of that phrase.

My two memories of Millmoor are a stunning 4-1 win with a hat-trick from young Tony Rowe; and a 3-2 defeat which was only 1-1 with five minutes left (we also missed an injury time penalty). You could make a really good racket in that away end.

(Also saw a 4-0 defeat at Don Valley but let's not go there)
