Barnet were a throw back to the Unibond days when sides like Osset Albion would be shamelessly time wasting from kick off. Martin Allen was even petulantly refusing to give up the ball for a Town throw in the last minute. I think he stuck it up his jumper at one point. Add in the 2 wanky Barnet players still celebratiing their goal with the fans when everyone else was lined up to kick off again (we thought they were going to be taking selfies if the ref didn't put his foot down) and all in all it they gave a poor impression of potential champions. I think Rovers will romp it on what we've seen this week, and most Shaymen will be cheering them on. :eyes:
Yes .. I'd prefer Bristol Rovers to win it. Why are Barnet so fucking irritating and friendless?

Because we just like to irritate you.
And actually, in terms of Chester, I can't really think of anything that we have done to you that would have especially irritated you except for getting 6 points off you and scoring 8 goals against you without reply.

Another point on the board and two tough looking fixtures out of the way with minimal damage done.

Welling at home up next and however anyone wants to dress this up, that must be the most favourable looking fixture for any of the top sides.

I'm sure it won't be easy but this has to be seen as a real opportunity for us to push on towards our 90 point target.

Similar to our game. Aldershot are probably safe though. Alfreton aren't so who would you prefer?

I'd say on that weekend I'd prefer Alfreton weekend to your fixture at the Macc Lads.

Well its not known as " Only Twats and Inbreeds " for nothing.
Nearly as creative as the nickname 'Shitheads' you seem to call us.

Actually one of the people who runs the Barnet fans forum has got it here in one. Taken from the Barnet forum:
"What has amused me this year is how much we have upset opposition fans, simply it appears, by being Barnet.

We're all a team of graceless, cheating, diving, thugs, have no fans, can't play football etc.

What this actually shows is the abject jealousy that lives in this league, it's full of small minded bitter and twisted individuals who fundamentally see a team no bigger than them in the supporter stakes:

1) Being successful on the pitch
2) Being successful off the pitch

Which is obviously the antithesis of how to be loved in the Conference.

Last year we were lauded for playing lovely but ineffective football that left us midtable and threatened no-one.
If we'd let convicted fraudsters take over our club, sell our ground to Tesco's & real estate, not paid players for months and had to get the buckets out everyone else would be rallying to support us, sign petitions, protest on our behalf etc

We must be doing something right
laugh.gif

That's the best thing about being a well run football club, it pisses everyone else off."

The fact that you're proud about that makes it even worse. You're 13 points clear but during your game your fans was posting about our game. Surely even you think that's pathetic
I'm proud of it?!

I never stated that once, I made a suggestion that the 302 page thread was obsessed, not just a post on the Conference match thread.

I think it's funny, and I know Rovers fans would do EXACTLY the same if we were in that situation, but it is a bit OTT and boring now.

If you wanna talk about us go on OTIB. I'm sure they'd love another reply... 1 more reply closer to 14,000 :emb: this is your best season in decades and the longest thread on your forum is about a team that are apparently not your rivals anymore and are a meaningless non league club... Over a million views and over 13,000 replies... Honestly that's pathetic and id be embarrassed if it was the other way round

Are they?

From what I can see it's just you who has a problem with them, each now and then you just bizarrely rant about them for no particular reason.

Well I didn't get a 4-4, sold out crowd, 1,500 away fans nor terrace scenes, but all in all not a bad game for the neutral.
Thought Eastleigh bossed most of the first half, but looked suspect to the break away. Wrexham had most of the first part of the second half, but the late push by the home side meant score about right.
Other observations:
1) Penalty looked a bit on the soft side....lad was looking for a leg to fall over
2) Both Wrexham's goals were top drawer (especially the first).
3) Couple of offsides against Wrexham's front line in second half were very tight
4) The Wrexham shot that crashed off the bar in the second half was excellent, the lad who then headed home looked way onside, but was given off.
5) Though Eastleigh got a bit tetchy in parts...stress getting to them?
Good evenings entertainment, but left a bit worried. Based on the small sample of this and the times I have seen Aldershot play, Aldershot are no where near as good as these two. Lot of work to do in North Hants.

I think for your no.4 you meant the Eastleigh shot (Strevens) and headed goal into the net (Constable) from the rebound off the bar that was deemed offside.

Was very impressed with how Wrexham played football last night..
We turned into a hoof it far & high team, as soon as we went 1-2 down and never got our passing game going, until Brian Howard popped up with a lovely defense splitting pass to Beano, who notched nicely to give us a point.
We were lucky to get that point Imo.

I feel nothing against Barnet, and from what I see neither do any of our fans.
Surprisingly really after the numerous relation battles we have been up against each other in recent years. Both sets just enjoying the ride at the moment.

Only to Railway Blue, who has had a longstanding obsession with us.

To me, Chester are a club situated a long way away from London who under their previous incarnation suffered a lot from unscrupulous chairmen and are now run on a more secure basis. That's all.

Good to hear we're playing well, sounds like we were unlucky not to win. We appear to be taking our chances now, hopefully finish the season in top 10. My personal view now (with our better players signing new deals, hopefully Manny and Jennings will do so soon as well) is to keep Wilkin for next season.

Surely you'd want a draw between us and Macc??

A draw would be fine as well but I'm confident that Macc Town will drop more points in other matches, although of course if they win that would give them renewed confidence that they can continue to challenge for the title until the end.

I am not surprised. Surely Hargreaves has to go

We won't spend the money required to sack him - nor will he resign. I watched him walk off last night, shaking his head with no acknowledgement of the fans. Disappointing.

It's such a shame it's turned sour like this as he was a legend as a player. 1100 there last night, unless Kiddy bring a few down it'll be around the same on Saturday, which would be horrendous.

Just found this comment on the Halifax forum from the one and only Pliny Harris:

'Two points over three days for a part-time team against two big budget squads who've been neck-and-neck for a few months. Acceptable return, and we deserved more. To say we should be competing with those two is to say Colwyn Bay or Gloucester should be competing with us. Rovers are several times larger than us and Barnet are racking up untold debts on their team. I wouldn't mind them being in a different league to us next season as they're not an honest bunch.'

:fl: Bloody hell

Obviously wasn't at your game last night, but can you explain to me what's so funny about the post? Apart from the debts (which I have no clue either way tbh), I think it's a very level headed opinion?

Bloody hell Pliny! I respected you as a poster.
It's more the stuff about us having a big budget squad and racking up untold debts rather than our performance, which I can't comment on as I wasn't there.
I'd say that we have a top 8 budget for this league, which I'm sure is bigger than Halifax's but is hardly going to be in the FGR/Eastleigh league and we're not racking up huge debts or debts of any kind.
