Big kick in the balls that, managed to take our chances in a tight game with tough conditions which meant for a bit of a poor spectacle. Very few chances apart from the goals in truth.

Once Colchester scored from the corner and 5mins went up we went to pieces and they stole a draw after a tidy finish from Chilvers at the end.

Penalty we got was 50/50, but the defender originally made a really poor error leading to it.

Colchester battled hard but never really troubled us until the end, they made one or two poor decisions in front of goal.

I've seen us play alot worse than we did today and in truth apart from stoppage time we still played well considering the conditions, we've had it all our own way at home now for so, so long we was due a kick in the balls at home again. Just have to hope that todays poor result is our last one at home, we'll see how telling it will be come the end of the season.

90 minutes of pretty solid shithousery from Stevenage. Niggly fouls, going down at every opportunity, surrounding the ref constantly, taking an age over every goal kick. Not that they got much joy out of the referee but it broke up the game which is exactly what they wanted. Ball was hardly ever in play.

Same thing happened to us when they came to our place, which was also a 0-0.

Well we got a point, but that’s what Stevenage played for. It’s the same old problems with us, we’re just not good enough to beat the top teams and that is why we probably won’t even make top 7 let alone top 3. Too many games to come against teams we simply don’t have the quality to overcome in big games.

Think you'll beat us on Tuesday, mate?

No. I would say we’ve got a chance after your result today, but our record at your place in recent years is probably as bad as yours is at ours.

Could be a proper battering if we go with this same team again.

We absolutely have to make changes. Everyone looked knackered again. If he starts Walker who got injured after about twenty minutes or Dylan Motley Costalloe then I agree - a battering.

We're really poor at home, though tend to do a bit better against teams in the top half.

Thought they'd win today like, now out of our hands. Hopefully Colchester are in the mix now. Two home games in a row coming up and we need 4 points at least from them.
The Wombles are bottom of the form table, Not won in 10.

Now that I've calmed down a bit, we didn't actually play that badly today, it was just the result that was yet another game against lowly opposition where we drop points when we can't afford to.

We did more than enough to win the game and dare I say Orient/Stevenage/Carlisle would've put 4 or 5 past Hartlepool today with the chances we had.

But that's the problem, unless the chances are falling to Cook, they most definitely won't be hitting the back of the net. The lack of goals from the rest of the squad is a pisstake and the fact that we're in March and not a single defender has scored a goal is nothing short of a disgrace.

Don't worry, you'll get 3 points on Tuesday.

Yes, we could have scored 4 or 5 but so could Hartlepool. Our defending was shambolic and had their no 9 had a brain, it would have been game over at half time.

I think we are really poor and in a false position due to Cookie's goals. Every year, our new manager criticises the previous manager's recruitment and every year, the recruitment is no better. That is the case this year.

I'd chuck Lewis into that conversation too, I think. Bailed us out a lot of times.

I totally agree with the above, but not starting the better players who are sat on the bench (desperately chucking them on when we’re failing with half an hour to go because shock it’s not working as we’ve done every game for the last few weeks) is even worse.

2-0. Col U fans singing about Justin Edinburgh being dead. Enjoy Harrogate next season you classless mugs.
Think all club supporters are the same. Nearly all decent but there are a small minority of nutters that make a lot of noise. Think the decent Col supporters will have been as horrified as you. The most enjoyable part of our home games is the pint beforehand. Had to miss that today because the behaviour of ours and Hartlepool nutters last year. We could all do without them.

Criminal that Banks, Dion, East, and Chapman aren't getting more minutes.

Strongest team at the minute for me, not a chance this side is worse than the lot who have started these last few weeks, if Costello starts on Tuesday then questions should rightly be asked.

Hearing Walker has done his hip, couldn’t walk after the game so that’s one change for Tuesday, unfortunately it had to be him.

I'd really like to see Critchlow partner Stubbs. Stubbs looks an excellent defender but he's slow and I reckon Critch would massively help there. Think Platt was poor today. I'm not a huge fan of Chapman, but he's been played out of position all season in that 10 role and hasn't actually had a proper crack in his natural position.

Haha Mansfield were absolutely awful for pretty much the entire game, even when we had a spell we were useless and refused to shoot for some reason. Only shot on target is the last minute equaliser. I expect us to be poor at the minute due to injuries but the lack of challengers and sloppy passes is unacceptable.

Referee was a homer; Stockport definitely better but that’s not exactly a compliment all considered. Stole a point so happy with that I suppose.

Great. He was struggling after twenty minutes. He should have been subbed earlier...

I don't think Platt has done much wrong to be honest but Stubbs is the better of the two. I also wouldn't mind seeing Bola in for Ridehalgh who I don't rate whatsoever.

The ref offered us nothing, the softest decisions were towards the home team, but we were hopeless and tbh how we got a point i’ll never know, maybe if we’d have played a decent side we’d have battered, with respect stockport we’re pretty average, apart from the goal they were very average and a full strength mansfield side could well have won that.

It was great to see paddy madden on his arse at the end after being a tit after the stockport goal, unlucky pal.

Stockport County.
Referee definitely wasn't a homer. I thought he gave all the 50-50's Mansfield's way. Wootton couldn't get a free kick.

Two average sides I would agree. We're missing a gear for promotion, said it all season.

Can confirm that Brian Clough's son and his coaching staff all ran on the pitch for an injury time equaliser. I know this was a point of discussion with Bradford fans a few weeks back. And yes, it was really embarrassing. It's a 1-1 draw. Maybe one for the tinpot for thread.
