Is it too late to join?? I don't have any qualms about starting THE OFFICIAL 1FF© Movie Group™ if you don't let me in.

OP updated. We have no theme for Son of Cod as of yet, is everyone as pissed off with their theme as ZianfrancoGoal? shall we scrap themes and let folk choose what they want? are we going ahead with a new thread for discussions/reviews of the selected films?

All the above would have been put into a selection of polls, however, it seems that even as a paying member polls cannot be edited.

The only sports comedies I can think of that I have seen are Caddyshack and...Cool Runnings. I quite like that though. It gives me a reason to look into them a bit more.

I don't really see the point in asking someone who has maybe never seen a Russ Meyer film (for eg) to pick one. Those sorts of themes (and really the first two also, IMO) are too narrow, I think. Perhaps it would be better to nominate films within a broad theme and then put it to the vote, or something like that.

I can see the pros and cons of the categories. If I was in a category I didn't know then I'd have to search and find a new (to me, possibly others) film, but if I had something like sports comedy I'd probably just flip a coin between Dodgeball and Happy Gilmore

So what if everyone nominates a film of their choice with no restrictions on what they can nominate then we vote on it and whichever selection comes out on top we watch then exclude the person who nominated that film from the next round of nominations until everyone has made a selection then start again?

But then how do we stop Saltire from nominating Braveheart?

We just don't vote for it. This would also solve our poll issue as a new thread could be started once all nominations are in and we take it from there.

Or...why dont we come up with a theme between us, everyone nominates a film in that theme, and then we vote on what we watch?

This requires more polls, I am working with the admin on a solution as we speak.

I like Smudge's idea, as there is a potential to watch a wide range of films rather than just someones favourite films or themes, like Steven wanting to watch Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! just to see some tits when there is xhamster for that! :p

I thought the whole point of this was to force people to watch films they don't want to. If you want to pick your own films go to the general film discussion thread.

Anyway for week 2:

Because of all the natural disasters, RAIN is severely underrated. By the way I haven't seen this (yet) so it could be crap for all I know.

If I'd been given the sports comedies category to be a bit different I would have gone for D3: The Mighty Ducks (ignore the negative reviews you might have heard, I actually think it's better than the second one).

anyone else watched titanic yet
Talking about that, what happens if there are films chosen we have seen? Do we have to watch them to reappraise them or as in Titanic's case just remember its shite apart from Winslet getting her baps out.

It kind of is, however, I can see the point being made that some of the categories are too restrictive and I see no issue with putting everyone's nomination to a vote.

I'd say a fair rule is if you've seen it in the last 7 years and didn't like it then you don't have to watch it again. If you liked it though you have to watch it again regardless of when you last watched it.
