Ciderhead gets himself that last point!

The final scores!

Cardsfan: 5
Last Request: 3
Murphy: 2
Paul Haddock: 2
Techno Natch: 2
Veggie Legs: 2
Ciderhead: 2
Stagat: 1
Mr Elmo: 1

The top 7 there will all be the most mobile players in the game, each able to move up to 3 squares per turn. They will be able to get around the map very quickly, which could give them a large advantage!

Four more training exercises remain! If you failed to boost your speed here, you are still not out of it by any stretch.

Now I'm off to go and fiddle around with the OP to give everybody their new speed stats. Expect farce.

I'd only go to District 12 to see Jennifer Lawrence. Not coal mining.

Right, the OP has been updated, and you may notice that there are a whole bunch of new fancy stats displayed there now. Lets go through them (with more in depth tutorials to come on some of them when you're training specific attributes)... those stats (with their default scores) are:

Speed: 1 - This is how many squares you can move around the map. Those who scored highly in the previous game can move up to 3 squares, the majority of you can only move one square per turn.

Strength: 200 - This is how much you can carry, in kg. As you move around and collect items, they will each weigh a certain amount... you cannot carry items with a combined weight higher than your strength score!

Fighting Skill: 5 - For those who played TFF Wars, this is your BR. When you come up against people in the arena, this will indicate your fighting score. A dice will be rolled, and you will randomly score between 1 and your fighting score (in this instance, 5). You can collect weapons and such to increase this, but this will be your basic unarmed fighting score.

Endurance: 3hp - This is essentially your health. Each time you lose a fight or what not, you will lose 1hp. Of course, certain items will heal you.

Hunting skill: 0 This gives you bonus fighting skill against any animals you may encounter in the arena. Useful for hunting animals for food.

Stamina: 100 - Stamina determines how much you can move around before you get tired. Each turn you move you will lose 10 stamina, and if you fight you will lose 20. If you do not move for a turn, you will restore 40. If stamina falls to 20 or below, you cannot fight, and if it falls to 0, you will not be able to move.

Hunger: 100 - You lose 10 hunger per day. When you drop to 50, you lose 25% of your fighting skill until you eat again. When you drop to 20, you lose half of your fighting skill. And if you drop to 0, you lose 75% of your fighting skill. This can be replenished by eating food that you find, or by hunting.

Thirst: 100 - Similar to hunger, you lose 10 per day. You suffer the same ill effects from failing to keep yourself hydrated; When you drop to 50, you lose 25% of your fighting skill until you eat again. When you drop to 20, you lose half of your fighting skill. And if you drop to 0, you lose 75% of your fighting skill. Hunger and Thirst creeping up on you can combine for a deadly combination where you find yourself unable to fight at all. This can be replenished by drinking water from the stream that runs through the map.

I hope you can see here that I've tried to keep a fine balancing act here between letting players who do well have an advantage, while never really giving people the chance to be entirely over powered. This is done through having a lot of elements to control... yes, you can have a lot of speed and a great weapon, but if you can't find food or water you can still be fucked. And likewise, you could have a lot of food and water supplies, but if you find a big heavy weapon, you may not be able to carry it due to a low strength rating.

Anyway, strength training tomorrow at 5:30pm!

A great chance to increase your strength and let you carry as much as possible around in the arena!

This training game will mostly take place via PM. You all need to be sent PM's for this game anyway as a lot of the Hunger Games takes place via PM, so I guess I may as well send them out now.

Bloody hell that was a pain in the ass.

But all PM's are out! You should now all have a PM... if you don't let me know, and I'll add it to the Oaf farce count. It got a little dodgy around the middle, so who knows.

But good christ. That was just sending out the same PM to everybody and it was a pain in the ass. Once the game starts, you will all use those PM's to move around the map, and I'll have to see who ends up where, see if there are any items or whatever where they end up... for every single one of you. And update your stamina, hunger and thirst. And anything else.

This is going to be a bitch to run  Hope it's worth it...

One day in, and The Hunger Games has its first casualty...

Silkyman has said that he wants a bit off time off of the forum, so has asked to leave the game. A shame to lose a player before it's even really got going, but hey, one less player means a little less work in running this thing... silver linings and all that.

All about the K/D ratio.

And yeah, I will be keeping track of players kill lists.

The strength training begins in about an hour. So here's an overview of the rules for this game:

STRENGTH TRAINING!

The contestants will enter a room where the levels of gravity can be manipulated. Prior to going into the room, you will not know what level the gravity is set at. Weights from 0kg to 50kg will be placed in the room.

There will be 5 rounds, each with a randomly chosen level of gravity. There will be a randomly chosen weight limit that will act as the maximum lift-able weight for that round. So as an example:

Round 1 has a maximum of 25kg. Anybody who sends a weight equal to or lower than 25kg will lift their weight fine... and whatever weight they lift will be added to their total strength rating for the game. Anybody who tries to lift too much and goes over 25kg will not be able to lift the weight, so will gain nothing.

Round 2 has a maximum weight of 10kg. Again, anybody who chooses to try a weight under 10kg will be successful, and have this total added to their strength rating, and anybody who tries more will gain nothing.

Bare in mind these are example weights and not necessarily the actual limits I'll be using.

Once the game starts at 5:30, you must each send me the amount you wish to lift in kg via your PM's. Note, ONLY ANSWERS GIVEN IN THE HUNGER GAMES PM'S WILL COUNT! So send me a new PM, and it won't count... this is to stop my inbox from getting too full

Hope this is understandable. If not, let me know.

Game starts in just under an hour...

A few questions, sorry. Will the results for each round be announced before the next round starts? Can we choose any number or just multiples of 5? Is there a time limit?

The rounds will run one at a time. This is the way they will work, the schedule or whatever:

At 5:30, round 1 will begin... and people then send their first weight attempt to me. The weight must be any whole number (so no, it doesn't have to be a multiple of 5) with the lowest option being 1 and the highest being 50. People will have about 10 minutes to send their first attempts to me, and I will then post the results for that round in the thread. The time limit will be the deadline that I set in the thread when the round begins... so each round will last around about 10 minutes (probably a little less, as the game goes on and people know what they're doing I'll probably make the deadlines as short as about 5 minutes).

ROUND 1

Players may now send me their first attempt!

Players have until 5:41 to send me a weight between 1 and 50 via THE HUNGER GAMES PM that I set up yesterday. Any weights sent in this thread or via another PM will not be accepted.

Any questions, let me know!

ROUND 1 RESULTS

12 contestants have tried their hand at strength training for the first round... and it's Last Request who steps up first, as he has gone for the lowest weight of 10kg.

He lifts it with relative ease, it seems that the weight limit is a fair bit higher than 10...

Bottega Don also finds his 14kg rather easy, as does Stagat with his 15. It's when Mr Elmo and Paul Haddock attempt their 20 where players first look as if they're breaking a sweat.

Natch gets by with his 22, then we get quite a jump with Hodge and Magic going for 28. It's a bit tough, but they both make it. IanH goes one more with 29 and makes it. Ciderhead goes one more again with 30...

And just about gets there.

Veggie Legs is up next, going for an ambitious 35...

It's tough... and he's starting to buckle under the weight...

But with a big push, Veggie is able to lift the weight. He looks completely drained afterwards though... that pushed him to his limit.

Aberstone comes swaggering up next and goes for 50kg... which of course was always likely to be far too much, he can't even budge it!

All players besides Aberstone were successful!

Strength gains after round 1:
Last Request 10
Bottega Don 14
Stagat 15
Mr Elmo 20
Paul Haddock 20
Natch 22
Hodge 28
Magic 28
IanH 29
Ciderhead 30
Veggie Legs 35
