I fail to see how anyone can vote for a FIFA or a Pro Evo as one of their favourite games ever.

I largely put the 20 games I had played the most up as my 20 best games. I know some short games can be great, but there must be a reason you spend a lot of time on them. Missed out some games from my list that I had heavily played because for example I wanted to complete the game(and/or achievement) and put more time in that I wouldn't normally, and equally my list is not in the order of the games I played the most. But that played a key part in my decision making.

FIFA as a series probably makes my top 5 of hours spent gaming, so picked the best I had played and had that in my top 20. As for just listing as the 'FIFA series', the games are quite different, maybe not year-to-year but take a FIFA four years apart and they are completely different. We may as well list Super Mario as a series, or Zelda as a series, or Resident Evil as a series...

Also remember this is '1FF's best games' and so is interesting to see the opinions of other members. I don't want another generic list of the top games of all time, they always end up the same.

Completely agree mate, I also had FIFA 11 on my list which you referred to in an earlier post. I don't see why FIFA shouldn't make anyone's list considering the sheer amount of time we've spent playing them over the years.

Call of Duty: Black Ops - my personal favourite CoD game, one of the first games I played extensively online and spent hours on it. Not that I'm massively into the CoD games mind.

Primal Rage

fighting game where you take control on dinosaurs and giant apes in a bid to win control of a future earth that has been devastated by a meteor strike.

Mortal Kombat - I'm sure you're all familiar with the MK series, original and still one of the best IMHO. Eagerly anticipating the new one.

Two more of mine. Love all the Gears and Borderlands, so just had to pick a favourite.

See Saints Row 2 is out as well. Enjoyed all the Saints Row games, but 2 I think was the best of the lot. Just missed out on my list.

This. I would never even consider putting a sports game on, any sports game, just because they are all essentially the same with just little tweaks. I could tell you right now though ironically what my favourite football games ever were, and thats ISS 2 on the Playstation, and FIFA 98 RTWC! So maybe its not such a silly idea to vote a footy game!

Speaking of series though, I have tried to avoid choosing multiple titles from the same series. Mass Effect for example, all 3 should make my top 10, but then I didnt want to miss on out other things, so I picked my favourite of the 3. Likewise with Gears, Borderlands, Zelda, Mario, Sonic etc.

I had a chipped PS1, and my dad used to get me all my games. For some reason, he'd managed to get ISS 2 in Japanese! That was part of the fun though, as if the unlicensed names werent bizarre enough, you then had even more bizarre Japanese pronunciation of them, and comedy gold from the commentator when you scored a goal. What a game.

Wow, a quick browse of Google images and Ive found the default Master League squad! Some legends in there!

back when brazil were the be-all, end-all and no club side at the time could touch them.

Arkham City was an amazing game. Built on all the good parts of Asylum, just larger in scope and a great twist in the ending.

Can't wait for the last part of the trilogy Arkham Knight due to come out in june. It's shaping up to be massive, apparently there's gonna be a 50gb install..
