YES to the hero who voted for this

(though think its failure to make the top 50 renders the poll quite redundant)

That was me! By far my favourite of all the Monkey Island games. Especially once we had progressed to playing it on PC and no longer had to play the epic 11 disc Amiga version!

Donkey Kong Country is one of mine. Loved that game growing up.

I wanted to include Portal, but I chose to only name one of them.

Me too on both counts! Portal is great, but too short. The second expanded and improved on absolutely everything Portal did. Loved Donkey Kong Country, I think that was the first game I ever played that was so utterly stunningly beautiful. But it was a great game as well, the way it looked and sounded blew me away. I think it was the first console game I ever played where the music was real music, and didnt sound like it was being played on a stylophone!

Sonic 2 was on my list, my favourite of the Sonic games. I tried to include The Simpsons: Hit and Run on my list but couldn't, that final mission was so tough to accomplish.

Shame the Sonic series has gone to utter crap now. Generations was okay, and then Boom came out....

Generations was great, got back to what made Sonic boss in the first place. I like bits of Sonic Adventure, but it got a lot wrong too (Big the Cat FFS...)

47. ) Shenmue - 23 Points

I always thought Shenmue 2 was better than the original, no?

I only played the first one. This made my list and its a shame the series will never be finished.

Did the person who voted simpsons road rage mean to vote hit and run? Road rage was terrible

Me and a friend used to have loads of fun on Road Rage back in the day. Worth noting I would have only been about 10 at the time so I was hardly playing games with an eye for finding faults in them, back then! I get your point though, it wasn't until a few month's ago that I realised they were two separate games. I'd always assumed it was hit and run that I had spent loads of time on.

I never understood Minecraft. There was a free demo on Xbox and I got bored after thirty minutes because I didn't really know what I was supposed to be doing.

Probably the main reason was the platform you played it on. It is a PC game, only really good on PC. The ports across to Xbox/Playstation/Ipad are alright but miss out a lot of the best features, modding and quality.

Came low on my list, as despite it's good features it is over-rated.

Yes, I enjoy all of them and I think Secret runs it fairly close, but I reckon 2 is probably my favourite as well! Big fan of those LucasArts point-and-click adventure games - Day Of The Tentacle from the same sort of era is another one I have very fond memories of

They were great. Ive got a ScummVM emulator on my laptop now, so have started playing a few of the old ones I missed out on back then. Cruise for a Corpse, Day of the Tentacle, Simon the Sorceror and Beneath a Steel Sky (played that on the Amiga too way back when) being the better ones.

Minecraft always has been and always will be best played as a PC game. It's the perfect mouse/keyboard game in terms of how to control players, and the creativity will always be a step ahead (Updates first, more skins, mods etc)

Two more of mine in Super Mario 3 and Resident Evil 4.

Super Mario 3 is a classic. Easily my favourite 2D Mario game.

Resident Evil 4's visuals were breathtaking (for the GameCube anyway). It lacked the jump out your seat moments that the original had I think (only played the remake), but didn't stop it from being a top quality game. That sack man with his chainsaw was a little annoying

Great game, although it didn't make my list. Felt 2 Assassin's Creed games was enough.

SimCity and GTA 3 were both on my list.

SimCity along with Civilization was the first PC game I spent hours on.

GTA 3 being the first of the new generation of 3D GTA games, obviously been bettered in every department by it's successors but still worthy of a spot on a list like this I reckon.

AC2 was my favourite. I never liked the addition of multiplayer to AC, just not that kind of game, an I dont think it improved it any by adding it.

If I'd remembered to send a list in, this would have been number one, it's like nothing else I've ever played. It's a travesty that it didn't even make the top 50.

It has multiplayer? I honestly never noticed it, though I've not enjoyed a game since Revelations. III, IV and Unity I haven't enjoyed at all, though IV is the best of a bad bunch there.

They introduced it in Brotherhood, 2 didnt have it. Didnt need it I dont think. 2 was great, just a proper solid enjoyable open world campaign. i guess these days though, there is a pressure for any big games to have a multiplayer.

I actually thought that the multiplayer in Unity was pretty good. Nothing game changing, and you wouldn't really be missing out by never touching it, but it was fun enough when played with friends.

Other people appreciate the brilliance of Crash Bash! Who are these heroes?

Also, if Mario Kart Wii finished joint 38th, I hope that MK8 finished even higher, as it's probably the best Mario Kart game ever. Though I doubt enough people have a Wii U on here for justice to be done...

I absolutely loved Evil Within; I had it down as my GOTY for 2014.

Chrono Trigger is another fantastic game.

Finishing 37th with 29 points but featuring on way more lists so it's cooler than those other games that got 29 and all that.

37th. ) Theme Hospital - 29 Points
