What about all those Grimsby fans claiming the title in July? :fl::fl:

Had a chat with Dean Treleaven yesterday. He said he enjoys reffing FGR games, and that we are not usually a problem. Yesterday was a bit tetchier then usual, but that's what happens this time of year.

So :fing: to all you "FGR are dirty" brigade.
That's funny, I asked him what he thought of Stepford Whores FC last time he was at The Shay. He said you were a right set of *****. :ds:

Like a ref is gonna come out and say he doesnt enjoy reffing a certain team.

Or the one where a player already on a yellow cynically tripped an opponent off the ball?
Maybe he just did that to try to get a move to FGR in the summer?

Game changer at the Moss Rose yesterday. We were well on top for the first 20mins or so then Mr Hussian awards (gives) them a penalty. No appeals from their players or fans and no one but him knows why. As has been previously mentioned on here the FL dont want small clubs like us in their league and we could well be reffed out of it especially as we had a nailed on penalty refused and our player booked for diving.

Makes sense, suppose it's the reason why Accrington, Dagenham and Morecambe are up there.

I don't think you were reffed out of yesterday at all , more like you had an off day judging by your results so far. The penalty looked right from our end ,with your defender hauling down Styche. You did start the better but only made Jalal make one routine save and once we got going there was only going to be one winner. All the best for the run in - you still should make the playoffs.

So which red card would you not have given? The one where the last man brought down Guthrie, or the one where a player already on a yellow cynically tripped an opponent off the ball?

Both were reds by the letter of the law. Not giving them would have seen the assessor mark the referee down.

And to say the ref robbed us of a positive outcome is wrong, until they went down to 9 men we barely had a chance. We only looked dangerous once the ref had helped us out. Before that it was a sterile game, as pretty much all our games are, whoever the ref is.

The Hudson red was questionable because Guthrie was moving away from the goal and didn't have the ball fully under control (although you see them given all the time). Jennings can have no complaints. The ref seemed to be poor due to the generally inconsistency in decisions throughout the game. No cards when cards should have been given and then a flurry of cards at the end. A lot of our fans who were there have mentioned how easily the Rovers players went down under innocuous challenges but to be honest all teams do that nowadays. When he was with us that was what Andy Morrell was best at.

I like the bloke, I share the same views as him generally. He just thinks we'll stay up and that's it but everyone is completely outraged by it for some reason so he's just started to play along mocking them.
I have lost count of the times I have written something, then thought better of it. There is too much of a witch hunt. He seems to enjoy himself, so he can say most of it for me. It just makes it better that they don't get it.

As for yesterday, I just knew that the moment Llloyd was replaced by Mahon we would concede. Mahon offered nothing, as has been the case for much of this season. Disappointing to draw against Borehamwood, as they offered very little. We weren't great, but they were worse. The lad Lucas might as well have not been playing.

You are getting confused regarding what the 'reffing out of contention' instructions are for, it is nothing to do with the FL. It's the Conference who want only big (proper) clubs in the playoffs and especially in the final. The FL clearly don't give a shite which tinpotter comes up.

It was good persistence from us to keep the ball in the box until your player grappled Styche to the ground for the penalty. Admittedly almost all decisions went our way but I thought it was a good call by the ref. We've had this ref (Ian Hussin) a few times now and I can't remember the last time he didn't give at least one team a penalty. I want another look at the 'dive' by Ademola in the second half - I thought that looked like a good penalty shout for your side. Hopefully you'll forget this setback and go on to do what we couldn't quite manage last season in making the play offs.

You do realise his team had just held out for a draw against a team 2nd in the table after having 2 men sent off? What's he meant to do, sulk?
I don't think that's why he did it, i think he had just heard the Tranmere and Braintree results........!

Just watched the highlights, one of the most blatant penalties we'll see this year haha

Wrexham should never have had Jennings sent off. Poor decision by a power hungry ref. Ruined the game for both teams.

As for Cheltenham, I won't congratulate them until they won the title. 4 games to go, 4 points behind. Anything can happen, just need a miracle to be fair though!

Nice cross country trip to Essex on Saturday for what I'm expecting will be a tight game with 1 goal either way deciding it. Must win for us!

Our penalty was pretty clear, and there were definitely appeals from our players and fans; may not have been obvious as they were fairly brief as the ref gave it quickly. Also, no complaints from your players.

With the "dive" my, and the surrounding people's, initial reaction was a pen from where we were. However, again there were no complaints from Braintree players including the guy who went down so that seemed to support the ref's decision.

Good luck for the rest of the season, would quite like to see you and Dover in the play-offs.

Even Gary Mills has said Jennings deserved to be sent off, and that he was giving the ref more grief then his missus does on a day out.

The overreaction to this on Grimsby's forum has been an amazing read.

Completely different game if you lot had to spend the last 30 minutes defending a 2-1 lead with 10 men. Call it an overreaction if you like, but you're kidding yourself if you think Wright staying on the pitch was anything other than incredibly fortunate after his cowardly stamp.
